Let's Go to a Wedding and Eat Cookies

Happy Thursday to Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by to see what I am sharing today.

It's a good day for a summer wedding and while there I think we should eat some cookies! If You Give a Crafter a Cookie has a new challenge and here is the photo inspiration...

Here is my Design Team project...
The team was offered two files from The Cutting Cafe and I chose this one...wedding word shaped card. Thank you Regina for giving us the opportunity to showcase your products. I cut the svg file on my Cameo.

I chose the colors of the cookies: kraft, cream, and pink. I made two cards and alternated the base and letters. The pink flowers are Jolee stickers and pink pearls are lined in threes.

The stamped sentiment is the oldie I used the other day by Inkadinkadoo. It was still sitting on my desk, so I just grabbed it. It worked because it was just the right size for the space since I didn't want to cover up the lettering.

The opposite colors.
Thank you again Regina from The Cutting Cafe for allowing us to use your files.

Hope you will join us at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie this week for our "Photo Inspirationchallenge. The other design team members all interpreted the picture differently, so go check it out!

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,
Happy Wednesday!
Today is my daughter's two week surgery re-check. Hoping for a good report since her knee looks better (it is not the size of a grapefruit any more). Perhaps the doctor will say she can increase the complexity of exercises, so she can get more range of motion. I'll keep you posted!

Not only is it already half way through the week, but it is also  Paper Play Sketches Day!
This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I just bought these color drops dies from My Favorite Things  when I went to their store and I knew that using these colors would be a good combination. I love all the possibilities. I cut out a bunch of drops in the three different colors and shapes and then laid them on the my space in various positions. Here is the arrangement I finally decided on.

The happy birthday sentiment is a MFT die, which was easy to cut on my Cuttlebug. I scattered three sequins in the same colors around the word.
Oh yeah...after the camera issues I did learn a neat trick from the blog Thirteen Thoughts. She suggested using your computer monitor as a background. I tried it! I selected a purple wallpaper, put my card on a dispaly stand and voila...a slightly brighter picture. Just think of all the options since there are thousands of wallpaper choices. You can have a different look every day!

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they used the colors.

It's Your Wedding Day at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for ALL the kind words in regards to the camera. I was thinking about asking for a new one for my birthday or Christmas, but I am going to wait and see what happens. Especially after going to the dentist this morning and unexpectedly being told I need a crown (that is better than a root canal). Good thing we have dental insurance, which will cover some of it (of course, that cuts into my crafty spending ~ bummer).

The new challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva starts today.
This Week's Challenge...
~ Wedding or Anniversary ~

Here is my Design Team project...
This is the photo I was trying to get a better picture of because I wanted to show the bright white and vellum with the silver. Just try to use your imagination!  I cut the My Favorite Things Blueprints 20 and the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame with my Cuttlebug.

The "Amanda" bride is by Rubbernecker Stamps, It was one I picked up at the Scrapbook Expo (it is on sale for 50% 0ff if you are interested). I also thought you might be able to add just a splash of pink or red watercolor to the bouquet, but I decided to save that for next time.

I found the congratulations stamp in my stash...it is an oldie by Inkadinkadoo. I really like the font. A couple pearls were added in each corner.
I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Wedding or Anniversarychallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team projects.

Raised Word Technique ~ Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!
Glad to be sharing tonight after having a rough two days...I was fighting what I thought was a losing battle with the camera. Although I have been taking pictures with our Nikon camera with little difficutly, the camera decided not to be my friend. I was about to toss it in the trash and call it a day. After venting, chatting with a few crafty friends, and searching the internet for photography tips...I decided it would be okay. Then Theresa (thank you again Theresa) sent me a message letting me know I won at MFT and I started doing the happy dance (actually seat dancing since I was on my way home from the grocery store). I don't know what is wrong with my camera/lens, but tomorrow is another day to try and figure it out.

This was one of the cards I made just before my camera issues. I needed to make a masculine card, but I also wanted to try the raised word technique. After choosing the pattern paper, I placed the happy die where I wanted it and ran it through the Cuttlebug. I cut "happy" 4 more times, then stacked and glued it together.

The word "happy" has a camouflaged look. The video I watched said to add the small pieces that were cut out (A and P), but I like the pop of color so it doesn't completely blend in. I cut birthday in the same color as the frame.

The MFT birthday candles were stamped with diagonal lines going in the opposite direction of the background paper.  I turned the hearts upside down, so they would look like a small flame.

Looking forward to a busy week...dentist appointment tomorrow, my daughter's surgery re-check is Wednesday, and lots of crafty projects in the works.

May All Your Wishes Come True

Happy Friday and Good Day to All!
Today is my day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads and I am showcasing some patriotic foil washi tape and square sticky jewels, which is also perfect for the upcoming U.S. holiday (Independence Day).

Here is my Design Team project...
My father-in-law's birthday is the first week of July and I typically make him a birthday card using red, white, and blue colors. This year is no different. The pattern paper is from Pebbles ~ Americana stack.

I used the following sketch from Try Stampin On Tuesday.

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes. I like this one because it has stars inside the o's to match the washi tape.

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.

Paper Play Sketches #45

Hello Everyone!
Happy Wednesday! Today is going to be a good day becuase I think I am going to take a trip to My Favorite Things in Eustis to spend some gift cards that I recently received. I have a wish list, which should help because I get overwhelmed when I go in the store since I want everything!

Not only is it hump day, but it is also  Paper Play Sketches Day!
This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
At first I thought I was going to struggle with this sketch, but I knew I was up for the challenge. The key was finding the right (background) paper. I used Vintage Bliss by Simple Stories.

The flowers are from MFT Blueprints 12 and the stamped sentiment is Jaded Blossom ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes set. The glitter enamel dots are from Eyelet Outlet and Brads.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Campin' Critters at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stoppping by on Diva Tuesday.

Today is the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva.
This Week's Challenge...
~ Campin' Critters ~

Here is my Design Team project...
When I think of camping I think of a tent  in the woods, under the stars...roughing it (although I prefer a RV with air conditioning and a bathroom). It is too hot and humid to go camping in Florida right now, but we do have a great state park down the road where you will see all type of critters. One of the most popular critters you'd see is the white tailed deer.

I started by cutting my SVG CuttingFiles chunky card base on my Cameo. Then I cut the tent, bear, and moon from Miss Kate Cuttables. I created my watercolor background to look like a night sky and finally added Wink of Glitter for the shimmer. All the pieces except the stars were adhered with foam dots to add dimension.

The sentiment is computer generated and it was cut with a MFT die on the Cuttlebug.

I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Campin' Critterschallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team projects.

Ombre Thanks

Happy Monday Crafty Friends!

Hubby went back to work, so my daughter and I are home with no major plans. I really need to de-clutter some closets and take a trip to the donation box. Sounds like a good home project.

For today's card I am sharing one of the MFT Camp Create techniques...Remarkable Resist. I enjoyed using embossing powder and watercolors to create the background on the first card, so I figured I would try again. I love all the options since there are so many different background stamps (I even added a few more to my wish list). I used white ZING! embossing powder and created an ombre look with four different shades of blue watercolors.

Then I cut out the word "thanks" with my Cuttlebug from 5 different colors (light to dark).

I really like this design, so I may do it in a few other shades...red to pink, light to dark purple, oranges or greens. You can never have too many thank you cards in your stash.

Hope you have a magnificent Monday!

Camp Create Day 5 Bonus: Dry Embossing

Happy Father's Day!
We just returned from having lunch at Cody's for Father's Day not to long ago and everyone is now full and content. Hubby is watching US Open and Kels is resting her knee. Her surgery went well and she is recovering nicely. Her follow-up appointment is next week, so we continue to ice and do simple leg lifts until then. I am in my craft room getting ready to create something new. Trying to decide if I should l pull out my watercolors or Colorbursts. Hmmm?  I may even check out the challenges at Paper Playful to see what has been posted the past couple of days.

The other day I participated in Camp Create Day 5 ~ Divine Dry Embossing, but I have had trouble getting a good picture. I tried late at night, then in the middle of yesterday, and finally this morning. Unfortuantely, this is it. I am not sure if the embossing is deep enough, but the first couple of times I added a paper shim and it cut the paper. Then I tried without (maybe I need to try a new embossing pad since that was the only piece I did not trade out). I used the MFT stitched oval scallop edge frame and the eiffel tower dies.

The Jaded Blossom stamped sentiment was cut with a MFT fishtail flag and those are slate colored skittle by Doubleclick in the upper left corner. The cardstock is MFT Steel Grey and the polka dot vellum was a find in the Walmart clearance section.

Here is the Day 5 Bonus Badge.

I may try again to see if I can get the impression to my satisfaction, but I am glad I at least made an attempt. I hope MFT does some additional Camp Days later this summer like they hinted. Learning something new is always fun.

No Prob-Llama, That It's Your Birthday!

Happy Friday and Good Day to All!
Today is my day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads, so I have some more cute brads to share that became available during the Spring Release.

Here is my Design Team project...
I chose this MFT frame (Blueprints 27), so I could showcase these llama brads in each window.

I added a piece of bling strip around each square. It is easy to cut to the length that you need.

I cut the balloon on my Cameo and added a piece of black craft thread for the string.

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.

Give a Crafter a Summer Cookie

Happy Thursday to Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by to see what I am sharing today.

It's a good day for some cookies...summer themed ones. If You Give a Crafter a Cookie has a new challenge and here is the photo inspiration...

Here is my Design Team project...
After looking at this picture for a few minutes, I decided I wanted to use the sunglasses and I wanted them to be bright colors. Then I used the Wonderful Watercolor technique from MFT Camp Create Day 1 to design my background.

The stamped sentiment is from Jaded Blossom ~ Encouragement set.
Hope you will join us at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie this week for our "Photo Inspirationchallenge. The other design team members all interpreted the picture differently, so go check it out!

Camp Create Day 3: Spectacular Shakers

Hello All,

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by! This is my second post again because I have been following along with My Favorite Things Camp Create every day this week (just scroll down for my Paper Play Sketches post). I have been enjoying each day because I am actually learning a new tip or technique from every video. Today's skill for Day 3 was Spectacular Shakers.

When I first saw the Camp Create title I was a bit disappointed. I have created shaker cards before and was never quite happy with my final products. The sequins would always get stuck to the side of the window frame or the depth was too shallow and the sequins wouldn't move.  After I watched the video by Laurie I felt more confident that I could make a shaker that worked.

Using white craft foam is brilliant! Lining up the circle you cut from the cover on top of the foam was wonderful. The best tip was using the static bag around the inside of the window. The rest just fell into place.

I used the MFT flamingo die and Tickled Pink stamp set. The sentiment is heat embossed in white powder.

Here is Wednesday's badge.

Looking forward to Camp Create ~ Day 4. I wonder what the craft will be?!?!

Until tomorrow,
Georgiana

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Happy Wednesday All!
We are half way through another week and it sure has been a productive one. I am pleased to be able to share our weekly challenge at Paper Play Sketches this week because I love the color combination.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
When I saw these colors I remembered I had a paper stack in my stash that would match perfectly. After retrieving it (Tell Your Story by Teresa Collins) from the shelf, I was a bit disappointed  because I didn't have many sheets to choose from. I had used quite a bit of the stack, but I was able to find a few pieces that layered nicely.

The Happy Wishes die is by WPlus9, the flowers are by Recollections, and the Clover Skittles are by DoubleClick.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they used the colors.

Camp Create Day 2: Remarkable Resist

Hey Everyone,

This is my second post for today since I am participating in My Favorite Thing's Camp Create (just scroll down for my Die Cuttin' Diva challenge). Today is Day 2 and the technique is Remarkable Resist.

I began by choosing my background stamp (MFT Fine Chevron) and then heat embossed the pattern on Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I used my Gansai Tambi watercolors to add the blue. I trimmed the paper with MFT Blueprints 13 stitched rectangle die.

I typically use solid color cardstock for dies, but after watching Stephanie's video I used my Tim Holtz distress inks for the flower and leaves. The flower base is Spun Sugar, the top is Picked Raspberry, and the leaves are Shabby Shutters.  The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom.

Here is Tuesday's badge!

Looking forward to Camp Create ~ Day 3.

Until tomorrow,
Georgiana
