Be sure to leave a comment on the enter here link. Post on your site for another chance to win.

I went to a Scrapbooking party today and worked on a couple layouts (instead of my usual cards) from our Epcot trip last weekend. All the pictures are from the Flower Festival that is held between April and May. I didn't have all my supplies with me, so I used what I brought along. I borrowed someone's font cartridge for the title.
I need to finish the Hundred Acre sign since I needed brown and green paper.

I have a Minnie and Mickey page, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, and Bambi to do next. I hope my daughter likes them when they are done.

Until tomorrow,
Georgiana

Cuttlebug embossing folder used to make frame.
The quote was found on Welcome to the Quote Garden.
Inside sentiment "Happy Birthday" stamped in black ink.

Good Times

Easter has been a very relaxing day. We went out for lunch at Cody's, then stopped at Walmart to get some Epcot pictures from our trip yesterday, and then the local scrapbook store was open today for a few hours with a special Easter sale. My hubby let me run in for a couple minutes to get a few Mother's Day and Father's Day stamps. My daughter picked a plastic egg that had a coupon for 20% off our total purchase. Yeah!

When we returned home, my husband played a golf video game and I made another card. Please refer to Card Patterns #112 for the sketch.
I used the following materials:
  • The Pet Pad by Recollections
  • Serenade cartridge for the birdcage
  • Paisley cartridge for the sentiment
  • blue silk ribbon
  • blue gems
The other challenges I am submitting my card to:

Another prize is being added to the 500 Follower Appreciation Giveaway.

Hoping you enjoy the rest of your Easter,

So Fun

Here is the card I made this morning for the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge...use the pineapple from Wall Decor. Since I do not own that cartridge I used Preserves. The pineapple was cut at 3 1/2". It was my first time actually using this cartridge. So Fun was cut from Create a Critter.
I took two pictures of the card on different angles because I used a transparency overlay. I used brown brads rather than adhesive to attach the transperancy to the green BoBunny paper. Then I added yellow brads to the center of the flowers. The pineapple and sentiment sits on foam strips to add dimension.
Inside sentiment reads: Wish You Were Here
transparenrcy overlay ~ acquired at a scrapbook yard sale for 20 cents

Happy Easter,

Celebrate the Occasion with a Happy Birthday

What a wonderful day it was. We went to Epcot to see all the flowers before our passes expire on Tuesday. We took LOTS of pictures of all the Disney characters made out of plants and flowers. I am super excited and looking forward to creating some layouts. We even bought my daughter a Disney pack of paper from Hobby Lobby at 50% off for Easter on our way home.

Here is my card for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge. It is a Birthday theme,  but you must follow the sketch.

Celebrate the Occasion sketch
I used the following materials:

  • Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut circles (3" and 3 1/4") and scallop edge (1")
  • white and slate blue paper florals
  • green felt flower
  • white brad
  • My Pink Stamper sentiment and Navy blue ink

500 Follower Appreciation Giveaway

"Hello" to all my wonderful crafty friends and "Welcome" to those that may become mine. I would like to say "Thank You" for keeping in touch on a regular basis and offering the continual support that you do.

As a token of my appreciation I am having a 500 Follower Giveaway. Here is one of the goodies that I will be offering. I will be posting four more crafty treats that will be included in this giveaway throughout the week. That means there will be a total of one goodie for each hundred followers (five crafty treats). I will update and add the pictures to this post, so all the information stays in one location.
Blue and Silver embellishments

How to participate:

1. I would love for everyone to have a chance to win; therefore, I need you to leave a comment on this post and a way to get in touch with you. I prefer you leave both your site name (if you have one) and your e-mail.

2. Tell me the best type of prize that you have seen or won. I love to win Cricut Cartridges, but not everyone uses the die-cutting machine. I like embellishments because every type of crafter can use them. I think the best is a gift card so you can pick what you want or get what you need. Share what you think!
3. I hope that you will share with others and post on your site or sidebar. If you do, please let me know by leaving another comment. That will increase your chance of winning one of the goodies.

4. Random.org will select the winners so everyone has an opportunity.

I will keep this open until Friday, May 13th and announce the 5 winners on Saturday, May 14th. If I gain another 100 followers, I will throw in another goodie just as a token of how much I truly love my crafty friends!
Stay creative and visit often,
Georgiana

FCAT Postcards for My Students

FCAT is officially over!
I had one student that had to do make-ups today after being out for 3 days and we finally finished this afternoon.
YEAH!

I decided to make the students postcards to let them know they did a great job using their strategies and showing what they learned this school year. I gave it to them before they left today.

Since the test is called FCAT, I cut out cats at 3 1/2" from the Animal Kingdom cartridge for the front image. I used a variety of scraps for the layering and the base was cut using "Just Because" Cards at 6 1/4".
The gray FCAT letters were cut at 3/4" from Plantin Schoolbook.
I looked for a stamp that said "You Did It!", but I couldn't find one. I found this famous quote on a wooden stamp instead. I sure do like it!
We only have about 6 more weeks of school and I know I will need to create end-of-the year cards for each students. This has been a great group of kids, so I know I need to come up with something special for them. : )

The 500 Follower Appreciation Giveaway will be posted this weekend. Be sure to come back for your chance to win.

Georgiana

Sentiment Selected, Winner is Announced

Thank you for all your input and helping me choose the sentiment for this lovely purple card. After I created this tri-fold I was thinking it should be for Mother's Day, but I wanted to make sure everyone else agreed. Here is what the inside looks like now. I used the Wrap it Up cartridge and cut out the sentiment at 2".
Here is the winner...#8
Jessica from Chick-n-Scrap said...

I think this would make a great mother's day card! I love the colors and all the extra touches...buttons, flowers and awesome pin!

Please send me an e-mail (coachfans at cox dot net) and I will mail your package by this weekend. I sure hope you will enjoy all the purple goodies.
I am currently working on a project for my students.  We just finished FCAT (our standardized test that took 6 days), and I want to give them a treat for working so hard. I plan on giving them out either tomorrow or Friday. I will post as soon as I am done.

Hoppy for You

Hello Crafty Friends!

What a marvelous Monday it has been. Any day that allows time for crafting is a magnificent one. I hope you have had the opportunity to create something new.

First, I would like to say thank you for the sentiment input for my previous card. I have received more Mother's Day votes than birthday, but there are 2 more days still. If you haven't had a chance to enter please click here.
Here is my newest Easter card. I followed the Charisma Cardz Challenge which was pink, black, and green. I used "Just Because" Cards cartridge to cut the bunnies at 3 1/2" and 6". The sentiment was cut at 3".
Here is my new Diamond Embossed edge punch by Martha Stewart. I found it at Ross for $2.99. I used it as grass and layered it with pieces of foam strip for dimension. The flower buttons are just an extra embellishment.
Inside of card will be stamped Happy Easter once all the pieces are completely dry.

Challenges:

Be sure to come back Wednesday evening for the announcement of the sentiment winner and I will be doing a 500 Follower Appreciation Giveaway at the end of the week.

Name the Sentiment Giveaway

Hello All My Crafty Friends!
I made this lovely purple tri-fold card, but I am having a difficult time deciding if it should be a birthday or a Mother's Day card. My full-time teaching intern and a fellow (4th grade) teacher have a birthday this week, so I was thinking of them originally as I was making the card. Then I thought...oooh..it would be perfect for Mother's Day too.

Since I am unable to choose which special day this card should be for, I am going to let you decide.  Everyone that leaves a comment stating which occasion will be eligible for the giveaway of goodies. Of course, the goodies (brads, buttons, ribbon, etc.) will be purple just like the card.
I used the following materials:
 Anna Griffin papers
purple and cream cardstock
purple paper flowers, ribbon, buttons, sparkle gems, and beads
purple and cream craft thread
purple chalk
Please leave a comment stating Happy Birthday or Happy Mother's Day and I will select one lucky person by using random.org. I will announce the winner in the evening on Wednesday, April 20th.

I am also going to submit my card into the following challenges:

Looking forward to getting your input.

Scrapbook for Sister

I stopped at Michaels after school this afternoon and I found a scrapbook and an amazing SEI paper deal for my sister. I wanted to get her something to keep her hands and mind busy while she is still at home. She is definitely recovering, but more time is needed before she will be able to walk.
Can you see that price? The regular price was $24.99, but one of the sales associates just marked it down earlier in the day to $2.49. I had to get one for myself also since it is my favorite color (brown).

I am looking forward to seeing what my sister creates. She is/was a long distance runner and doesn't usually craft, so I am eager to be able to help if needed. Her daughter has already volunteered to start tomorrow morning.

Thank you again for all the wonderful cards you have sent for my sister. She has LOVED them ALL.

Scrapbuck...Keeping Memories Affordable

The UPS man delivered my package from Scrapbuck today!
Yeah!
Check out the size of this box. It was filled with brown packing paper.

This is how much room my goodies actually took up.
Here are the items I ordered.

I will probablly order from Scrapbuck.com again since the prices are good, the service was quick, and they had a great selection. Why don't you go check them out and let me know what you think. Next time I will order doubles, so I can use the extras for giveaways. I wish I would have now, but I wanted to make sure I received my order without any hassles...and I did!

Who is Your Best Friend?

Many people know that I am a dog lover, especially after the picture cube I made of my Molly. When I saw this next challenge I knew it was perfect.

Scrapbookaholic By Abby Challenge #3: Use an animal and the color orange!
Paper Pups was one of those first cartridges that I just had to have. The images are absolutely precious. Every time I use this cartridge it puts a smile on my face.
Here is the sketch I used from Sketch and Stash.

I embossed the image oval with my new flower folder that I purchased at the Scrapbook Expo and I inked the surface. I have never done that, but I found an easy and clean way. I did not roll the folder with ink, but rather took a small square ink pad and lightly touched the surface of the paper. The ink is only on the raised surface of the paper. Like I said...super easy!
I also found a few other challenges that my card qualifies for:
Die Cuttin' Diva's ~ 2 different cuts ~ "Just Because" Cards oval and Paper Pups
Tuesday Throwdown ~ Sparkle and Bling ~ silver gems

I have reached 500 followers, so I will be doing a giveaway soon. Thank you for your continual support. I appreicate everyone visiting and leaving wonderful comments.

My package from Scrapbuck is supposed to arrive tomorrow, so  I will share the contents  once it arrives. I also won Serenade on eBay last night and that package is supposed to arrive in a few days.

Have a great night,
Georgiana

Happy Mother's Day

I have been using sketches a bit more often lately. I really like how so many unique projects can be created from one main idea. Everyone has the same design to start with, but each individual's interpretation, the colors, and the embellishments are all so different.

Here is my take on the Taylored Expressions sketch.

It will be perfect for Mother's Day. Although I will not be able to give it to my mom, I know my Mother-in-Law will love to receive it. : )

I used the Heritage Cricut cartridge to cut the silhouette and sentiment. The paper is by Basic Grey and the embellishments are from my stash.

I have another card to post for a different challenge and I would appreciate if would check it out also. Here is a clue...Who is man's best friend?

Georgiana

Welcome Spring

Hello again!
This has been a busy weekend with Kelsey's 13th birthday. She seems to think your birthday should last for the entire week rather than one day. We went to Disney World ~ Magic Kingdom Saturday, had Chili's for dinner afterwards where the staff sang Happy Birthday, bought her Sperry's today while running errands, and ate cookie cake for dessert.

This evening we went to my sister's and she looks good. She has "a boot" on one foot and the metal pins are sticking right out. She has a different cast on the left foot where the permanent  metal screws and plate are. I told her the next time I go over I am going to bring a book we can use for scrap booking. She said she would actually give it a try.

Here is another card I made this evening. I have wanted to cut an umbrella, so I gave it a try. I used the sketch from Easy Craft Projects.
I cut this flower (below) to possibly use on the front oval, but decided against it. I saved it rather than throwing it away and used it for the envelope instead.
I used K&Company paper ~ Brenda Walton Small Wonder
April Showers Cricut cartridge ~ umbrella and sentiment
pink and green floral gems

Challenges:

FCAT starts for grades 3 - 10 tomorrow. McDonald's is giving free breakfast to students between 6 - 8:30am. My daughter is looking forward to getting a free meal. She sure likes those Apple Dippers! I think I am going to get a parfait...yummy!

Until next time,
Georgiana

Joann's Sale and Another Bunny

The Daffodil Dash began at Joann fabric and craft stores today and is sceduled for the entire week. I have been waiting for the embellishments that are 70% off and I saw in the sales flyer this morning that selected Cricut cartridges are $18.99. Sounds like some great deals. If you are able to get one, please share!

Here is one of the two cards I made this weekend. I used a portion of The Sugar Bowl sketch (3 lines instead of the 4) to create this Easter card.
I used K&Company paper ~ Hopscotch Girl
Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge ~ bunny
Accent Cricut cartridge ~ Scalloped flower and center circle
oval shaped pearls

Happy Easter is stamped on the inside.

Challenges:
Paper Cutz Challenge ~ Bunny
Anything Goes Challenge ~ Pearls

Birthday Grunge

The other day my daughter and I were talking while we were going to school. I asked her what other types of cards should I try making and she said, "Vintage". I thought that was a great idea until I bought this Tim Holtz paper. I decided to give grunge a try instead and what better way to experiment...I made a card for  her birthday. She commented how she loved the paper, so we will find out if she really meant it.

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

I used the "Just Because" Cards cartridge to cut the cake and scalloped edge. The candle and sentiment was cut from Birthday Bash. The sketch is from Throwback Thursday, but it is not eligible since I used the Cricut to make the image. I did ink the edges with dark brown chalk and used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder for the cake background. The inside of the card has a cream piece of paper that was inked too.

Tip: Don't forget to decorate the envelope too. It is like a sneak peek of what is to come. The recipient will love to guess what the card is going to be from the first moment.

My New Goodies from the Scrapbook Expo and Orlando Trip

Today was a wonderful day, except for the little goof I made this morning...I forgot my cell phone at home on the charger.  I worried most of the day that someone would call me or I would break down and not be able to call anyone. When I got home this evening it was still on the charger with a dozen missed messages. No emergencies though. Thank goodness!

I was reminded what it was like before we had cell phones and life still went on! Now I wonder why I even worried.

I did get lots of goodies today and talked to a bunch of really nice poeple while standing in the lines. I watched a few Make-n-Takes but did not do any. They were very basic layouts which looked more like free exploration time.
Eyelet Outlet and Brads ~ $1.00 per bag ~ lots of variety. I purchased poodles, saws (for Father's Day), lightbulbs (love your idea), sparkles, winter critters, dalmations, and flowers. If you want to go to the site I have a coupon code for 20% off. It is good only for this month. The site is: http://www.eyeletoutlet.com/ and the on-line code is: April2011.

DollarScrapbooking.net ~ ALL items I picked were $1.00
ScrapYard 329 ~ green and brown fibers and a pack of metal sheets ~ $1.00 each. This vendor had such a great selection of scrapbooking supplies such as Basic Grey and Tim Holtz products.

 Scrap-mart ~ Flowers embossing folder ~$3.49

After I left the Scrapbook Expo I planned on going to Michaels. I was hoping to pick up a few more deals before heading home. One of the tables actaully had a manager from one of the stores. I asked for directions and she said turn left out of the parking lot. Well, I turned left but ended up at Disney. After turning around and driving by the resort again, I realized there was another exit she must have been referring to. I finally found three more Michaels after a few tolls, trying to search with the GPS, and remembering where I had seen one in the past. It is a good thing no one was with me. They probablly would not have enjoyed the ride as much as me.  : )
Michaels ~ Tim Holtz paper was on clearance for $4.99, plastic containers also on clearance for $1.99, the variety pack, brown gems, and bird images 99 cents. I used my 40% off coupons for the bottom two pieces (red florals and cupcake stickers).
Ross~ Martha Stewart edge punch ~ $3.99

Now I need to get busy! Lots of projects must be made.

Georgiana
