Circular Card and An Update on Summer Goals

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

Glad you stopped by today. Thanks! I appreciate the kind words and have enjoyed visiting you too.

I hope you have had a great week and the weekend turns out to be even better. I know it is hot, but it sure beats all that rain we had from Storm Debby.

I worked on a new shape card using the Mojo Monday sketch. I like the shape, but it wants to keep rolling to the side rather than standing up.

I left the inside blank so an appropriate sentiment can be added.
Materials:
kraft paper and cream card stock
Heidi Grace paper ~ Daydream
Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge ~ circular card base (p. 38) cut at 4 3/4"
Birthday Cakes Cricut cartridge ~ butterfly (p. 41) cut at 2"
Serenade Cricut cartridge ~ branch cut at 1 1/4"
pink bow
pink gems
Jolee's by You flowers

Challenge:
Mojo Monday
Here are the summer goals that I set on June 13th along with an update:

make shape cards  ~ I have made 7 so far (including today's circular card)! Yeah!

add stitching with the sewing machine ~ Not yet, but I am going to next week!

try some 3-D projects ~ I created a few sample gift boxes, but still want to make the Back to School treat bags. I already have a few ideas to make the first day back to school memorable!

get published ~ I found a link that list current themes and dates for the Northridge Publishing Company, which include the Cricut Magazine and Cards Magazine. Projects are currently being accepted for the December 2012, January 2013, and February 2013 issues. Now all I need to do is create a few projects and submit for review.

hit 1000 followers  (still need 120 new crafty friends) ~ I have met a few crafty friends, but still need 102 more to reach 1000.

Did you set your goals yet?

What have you accomplished so far? Now it is time for you to evaluate and give an update!

Don't forget about my 2nd Blogoversary. You still have time!

Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge ~ card base (p. 21) cut at 4 1/4", squirrel (p. 31) cut at 2 1/2", and campfire (p. 27)
graduation cap leftover from graduation cards ~ Happy Graduation Cricut cartridge

Cathie provided the DT members with fun camping papers, letters, vellum sentiments, and ribbon.
 Thanks Cathie!

3 X 3 Note Set

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

I started working on this project yesterday afternoon and just finished it up this morning...trying to get creative with the photo display too (need to work on lighting/shadows still). It is a note set with matching gift bag. I am not really sure who I want to give this too, but I was thinking my mother-in-law would use it at work and her co-workers would love to receive one.

Here is my project...
The set includes six 3X3 cards and matching envelopes, which all fit in the coordinating bag.
A variety of materials were used to create this set.
I just love that flower...it is actually a star die cut layered in various sizes.

Materials:
Creative Imaginations star card stock (for treat bag)
red, white, and blue card stock
other patriotic paper from scrap box
red, white, and blue (star and round) buttons
blue satin and blue crinkle ribbon
red and white Martha Stewart twine
blue gems
red star brad, round blue brad, and polka dotted star brad
Cardz Tv stamps ~ Thinking of You and Smile!
My Pink Stamper stamps ~ You Can Do it
Docerela stamps ~ enjoy!
Spellbinders ~ Moroccan Motifs
Wrap It Up Cricut cartridge ~ treat bag (p. 40) cut at 9 1/2" (I used the fit to page feature.)

Hope you have a great weekend.
We move our son into the dorms at UNF tomorrow. Exciting for him!

Graduation Thank You and Some Treat Boxes

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

Just a couple thank you cards I made for the neighbor, so he can share them with his family. The graduation cap is from Locker Talk.
Spellbinders (Lacey Cirlces and Beaded Ovals) were used. Thanks was cut from "Just Because" Cards Cricut cartridge.
Embellishments ~ ribbon, buttons, craft thread, and liquid pearls

Boxes and Treat Bags...
I am still trying to find some treat sacks that I can use for my students when I go back to school in the fall, and I decided to cut a variety from different Cricut cartridges. I have used Plantin Schoolbook in the past, so this time I used Wrap It Up, Forever Young, and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. These are cut in plain cardstock since they are experimental, but the students will be fancier.
I figured out how to hide the rose cut-out on the pillow box too. That was exciting since I have been quite hestitant about using my Gypsy. I am glad it is summer, so I can continue exploring!

Which treat sack (shape and size) do you like the best?

2nd Blogoversary...
 Coming in 3 Days

A Scrumptious Cupcake

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

I have this scrumptious little cupcake to share with you today. I made it for a sweet girl who is having a birthday party this weekend.
Materials:
K&Company papers ~ Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse pad
pink and brown card stock
Elegant Edges ~ scalloped square (p. 30) cut at 2 3/4"
Sweet Treats ~ cupcake
Swirls embossing folder
pink ribbon
pink button
pink ink
Key Lime liquid pearls by Ranger

Challenges:

Check this out...
My daughter (One Creative Teen) and I were looking for a treat sack that I can use for Back to School goodies and look what we found. I know we just got out for summer vacation, but I want to be prepared. She cut and folded the box (from Sweet Treats), and I added the handle with brads (and I also found a place for my liquid pearls.). I think this size treat sack will be perfect for the new group of students...except they will be getting different goodies. : )

2nd Blogoversary...
Coming in 4 Days!

Vibrant Summer Colors

Happy Diva Tuesday!

Today brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and what better way to celebrate than with a new project.

Our challenge this week is...
Summer Colors ~ Red, Orange, and Yellow

My Design Team project...
I am really excited because one of my goals this summer was to try and make more shape cards. So far, so good!
I tried a round shaped card from Birthday Bash and it fits into an invitation envelope (4 3/4" X 6 1/2") perfectly. One day I am going to figure out how to use my Gypsy to make welded shaped cards. You know what? I am adding that to my list of goals right now!
That quill pen was difficult to find, but it sure makes rolling these flowers so much easier!
The inside is decorated with the same scalloped look.

Materials:
red, orange, and yellow papers are from box of scraps
white card stock
Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge ~ variety of flower pieces cut at 3"
Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge ~ card base (p. 43) cut at 4 1/2" and layers cut at 5 1/4", 5", and 4 1/2"
orange and white polka dot ribbon
orange pearl

Looking forward to seeing all those projects you create this week.
