Make It Monday ~ Stenciled Watercolor Background

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday.

I started off with a 3.5 mile walk at the park with a friend this morning, came home and did a little yard work, went shopping and bought some paper and a stamp set, then found a new challenge site at PaperTrey Ink ~ Make It Monday

I decided to watch Betsy's video and give it a try.

I do not have many stencils to choose from, but after a of couple tries I decided to use the MFT Diagonal Bars. I remember seeing a color challenge at Color Throwdown, so I chose a few colors close to them. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks ~ Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, and Seedless Preserves. I used a piece of clear acetate and a water spritzer to create my watercolors.

I used my Cuttlebug to cut this Paper Smooches die twice.

The MFT Sunflower was cut a couple of times in two different shades of yellow card stock and then layered off-centered. The leaves were from another MFT set ~ Scribble Flowers.
After creating my card I went back to the PaperTrey Ink blog and read I had to use their products. I am bummed that I cannot "enter" the challenge, but I am glad that I tried this technique. I am looking forward to seeing what each Monday will bring now. Looks like I am going to have to get some new PTI products, so I can enter the upcoming challenges.

Gold Makes Me Happy

Happy Friday Everyone!
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by.  Today is my day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads.

Here is my Design Team project...
With graduation, retirements, and lots of birthdays quickly approaching in the next couple of weeks, I decided to use the colors black, white, and gold to stay elegant and gender neutral.

I created the background by laying the gold washi tape in diagonals strips. Then I cut the card mat with a MFT die from Blueprint 24. The inkadinkadoo sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink then Ebony embossing powder was heated.

I punched a few small holes and inserted the gold glitter brads into the MFT stitched circle before applying pop dots for dimension.

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.

Gold Glitter Brads

Welcome Polka Dots and Chevron

Happy Tuesday!
It's Die Cuttin' Diva day!

This Week's Challenge...
~ Polka Dots and/or Chevron ~

Here is my Design Team project...
A co-worker asked me to make a baby card, but she loves them personalized. I love polka dots and chevrons, so what a great opportunity to combine the two.

I used My Favorite Things dies ~ Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames and the onesis was cut on my Cameo. The personalized info was printed on my computer then cut with a MFT stitched circle die. The stamp  ~ Scrappy Moms Stamps, the bow, and sequins were added last.

I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Polka Dots and/or Chevronschallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team projects.

Animal Cookies are Inspirational

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by!

Today, I am sharing If You Give a Crafter a Cookie's new challenge. These are quite creative challenges...you have a picture of a cookie (yes, a cookie) and you use it as inspiration to create your project....a card, a layout, a tag, a gift bag...anything!

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I love animals...domestic, farm, zoo, wild...it doesn't matter.  I told my class if I could have another career it would be a cow farmer (they laughed and thought I was joking). Animals bring joy and make me happy, especially my dog. Here is card to honor her. : )

Looking For Shaped Card at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Everyone,

It's Tuesday! We just started 3 weeks of testing season, 6 weeks left of this school year, 2 weeks until my daughter comes home from college for summer break, 2 months of fixing up Kyle's house with a little bit more, and we are still going strong. It's been busy (extremely) and we still need to keep plugging away. Looking forward to having more free time soon.

Today the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva starts.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Shaped Cards ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I had a few different projects planned (tool box, coffee cup, mixer), but decided to go with my original thought of using a paint palette (Too Cute by Jessica). I was going to using the palette as the base shape, but I didn't like the hole cut-out so I found a bracket shaped base that I cut on my Cameo.

I chose this SEI pattern paper (Cheery Brights) since it had all the colors of the paint splotches. The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Dream in Color stamp set. The sequins were an after thought, but I like that the colors match.
I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Shaped Cardchallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team projects.

Happy Easter from Trendy Twine

Happy Easter,

Today is the last day for the Spring Guest Designers at Trendy Twine. What a wonderful opportunity it was using this fabulous twine. Thank you again Lesley for allowing us to showcase a variety of colors during the past two months.

Although my children are older and do not hunt Easter eggs any more, I still like to give them goodies. I made an Easter treat using a Jaded Blossom purse.

I wrapped my Grape Fizz twine around the handle and then attached my tag. The stamped setiment is from Jaded Blossom's  Bunny Poop Revamped stamp set.

I cut out the chocolate bunny on my Cameo, added a wiggly eye, and made him a twine bow. I chose to adhere a couple yellow sequins since they matched the jelly beans.

Be sure to get your Grape Fizz Trendy Twine today!

You can find this great twine color along with many more  at  Annie's Paper Boutique store

Fluttering By to Say "Thank You"

Hello Everyone!

Today is my day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads. Before I share my design team project,  I want to let you know that there is a Daily Deal where you can get a product each day at a discounted price. Be sure to check it out!

Here is my Design Team project...
A friend asked me if I had a thank you card in my stash and I did not, so I decided I should make one. I would like to have a couple available just in case somebody asks again. I want to make a few more of this style since I like how it turned out. I need one for my Secret Pal, my room mom, a student, etc.

The background is a cover-up by My Favorite Things and the stamped sentiment is a freebie I received with my Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine subscription. I used the Mini Butterfly brads around the sentiment to keep it simple.

I used the following product from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Animals~

Here is my Design Team project...
I made this card for a friend who had a pet emergency and needed some help getting her dog to the vet's office while we were at school. Thank goodness her dog is okay, but it sure is scary when your fur baby is in distress.

I used a variety of dies and a stamped sentiment by My Favorite Things.

I used the paws from the I Love My Dog Title file by Miss Kate Cuttables.
Hope you will join us at Miss Kate Cuttables for the "Animals" challenge. The other design team members were quite creative this month! Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Happy Birthday with Farm Animals

Happy Friday!
Another week of school has flown by and it is just a few hours away from a busy weekend. A visit with my daughter and work at my son's house will fill both days. I am hoping to squeeze a little time in to go blueberry picking since the farm just opened. I am looking forward to some Blueberry Buckle!

Today I am combining my Miss Kate Cuttables and Eyelet Outlet and Brads design team posts because they together nicely. I used this Miss Kate Cuttables barn and cut it on my Cameo. How easy!

The farm animal brads are by Eyelet Outlet and Brads. I found them in my stash and I couldn't resist using them since they are extremely cute.

This round birthday stamped sentiment is by Scrappy Moms ~ Dancing in Circles set.

Hope you find some crafty time this weekend.
