Love Your Pet at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today there is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut.

Theme: Love Your Pet
(February 20th)
According to the recent survey done by the American Pet Products Association, 62% of households in the United States (or 72.9 million homes) have at least one pet. Most pet guardians consider their pets to be part of the family and often refer to them as their “children”. This is a special day that we have purposefully set aside to show our beloved animal companions how important they are to us. This distinctive pet holiday was actually created by humans to remind pet pawrents just how lucky we are to have those amazing furry, finned or feathered family members in our lives.
In honor of my pet...
My Molly
I used the following sketch from Sketch Saturday.
Materials:
Recollections Pet pad
golden yellow, black, kraft and white card stock
Animal Kingdom Cricut cartridge
Paper Pups Cricut cartridge
wiggly eye
yellow buttons
black craft thread

Can't wait to see what you make (and hopefully you will attach a picture of your pet too). Be sure to stop by Exploring Cricut to see the other design team projects.

It's Not to Late for Valentines at Little Scrap Pieces

Hello Crafty Friends,

I can't believe so much time has past and how fast time flies by. I forgot to post my Little Scrap Pieces Design Team project with all that has been happening. School has occupied most of my time during the past two to three weeks since FCAT Writes is next week. It is a VERY stressful time! Many of you know that I teach, but I had to change grade levels this year after 10 years and writing is the primary focus (versus math and science that was in 5th grade ~ I was Science Lead Teacher for years and love math). The standardized test is next Tuesday, so wish my class luck! The highest score is a 6 and I am hoping to get one (or two or three).

Here is my Design Team project...
Valentine's Day
If you didn't post one or forgot like me, this challenge is perfect for you.

Materials:
K&Company paper
grey, black, and pink card stock
Create a Critter Cricut cartridge ~ mouse
Sweethearts Cricut cartridge ~ balloons
twine
pink skittles by Carri
computer generated names

Hope you will join us at Little Scrap Pieces this week for our Valentine's Day challenge. Can't wait to see your project.

Today is a Whimsical Designs on Wednesday!
Since Valentine's is tomorrow, I thought why not another Valentine's Day card. It sure does put you in the mood for love.

I used different 3 colored card stocks, 2 ribbons, and finally 1 button.

The focal point is a Spellbinders ~ Contemporary Hearts. I found it at Scrapbuck.com and I just love the details, especially all those cut-out hearts.

Be Mine at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

This week is Valentine's Day, which means my students are allowed to have a party at school (There are only 3 approved days ~ Christmas, Valentines, and last day of school.). I am planning a cookie party where the students will get to decorate sugar and chocolate cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and Red Hots. They will also get to exchange Valentines and ooh and aah at the ones they receive. I made the Panda treat bags. Should be fun!

Today there is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut.
Theme: Be My Valentine
I altered one part of this flourish...I changed the flower (was at the top) to a heart. Then I added the heart sentiment to the center of the blooming flower on the far left.
Materials:
red cardstock
Bo Bunny pattern paper
Sweethearts Cricut cartridge ~ flourish (p. 76)
white pearls
K. Andrews stamp
black ink
red heart ribbon

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is my Exploring Cricut Day.
I made this for a co-worker who has a friend that loves the beach (she even happened to be in Hawaii when I made this card). What better way to celebrate than with a Luau. I just need a grass skirt and some coconut shells and I will be ready to do the Limbo!
I used a sketch, but forgot to save which one. If you recognize it, please let me know and I will give proper credit. Thanks!
I added this white crochet flower to match that background paper.
 Inside sentiment

Birthday Bash ~ Happy Birthday sentiment
SEI paper ~ On the Coast

Whimsical Wednesday ~ Textiles and Hop Winner

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is a Whimsical Designs on Wednesday!
First, I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone that stopped by for the "Love" Hop during this past weekend. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and leave comments. I hope you enjoyed all the projects the team shared. The winner will be announced below.

This Week's challenge...Use Textiles
I used cream colored lace beneath my train edge punch. It is a self-adhesive roll that I found at Michaels on clearance and it is the easiest to use. There are lots of great colors in different patterns too.
Personalized for a special birthday boy.
I bought this train edge punch quite some time ago and never really knew how I wanted to incorporate it into a projet until this card.
Materials:
Nates's ABCs ~ Train (p. 32) cut at 2" and font cut at 1/2"
My Mind's Eye paper
cream lace
train edge punch by EK Success
skittles by Abusybee

This week's sponsor...
$20 gift certificate from Freckled Fawn

"Love" Blog Hop Winner is...
