Hello Everyone,

This Week's Challenge...
Celebrate It!
What type of celebration can have a party? I usually think of birthday or anniversary, but if you celebrate it...you can create it!

Here is my Design Team project...
A birthday train (by Too Cute by Jessica) for a three year old.

Every birthday has to have balloons!
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Celebrate Itchallenge. The other design team members did a wonderful job with this one. Be sure to check them out today!

Super Scraps Saturday

Hello Crafty Friends,

After looking at this massive bucket of scrap paper I decided that I should start using them instead of creating more. I just can't help it sometimes...when I want a certain color I just cut a new piece of card stock. I even have numerous pads of papers (6 x 6, 8 x 8,  and 12 x 12) with scraps in them too.

I started by creating small piles of color coded papers. It doesn't put a dent in the bucket, but at least it is a start.
Then I created a sketch I wanted to use (rotated one 180 degrees) and started piecing the colors together. These three worked nicely since I had some of the My Mind's Eye paper scraps all thrown together. Talk about luck! Who knows what else I might find if I keep digging!

My intentions were to create birthday cards for all of the staff at my school before we go back (we go back one month from today...time sure does fly!). Well, the train was too cute for an adult, so I made it for one of the office staff's grandson instead.
Here they are individually...
I added ribbon, gems, brads, and die cuts to make each one unique.

I am definitely going to make more with these scraps...it will be a Super Scraps Sunday too. I challenge you to use your scraps before they get out of control! What will you make? Can't wait to see!

2 Creative Chicks Challenge ~ Anything for Kids

It's time for another challenge at...

This Month's Challenge...
Anything Goes for Kids
Begins: Thursday, August 1st
Ends: Saturday, August 31st

How fun...anything for a kid. My first thought was a school theme since that happens to be on my mind a lot, but then I asked what would a little boy or girl prefer. Girls like flowers and dolls, and boys like sports and toys. I chose...

I used black craft thread to make a trail of smoke. Kids love the extra texture.
I used the following sketch from 2 Sisters Challenge.
Materials:
My Mind'e Eye paper ~ Lime Twist
black card stock
Boys Will Be Boys Cricut cartridge ~ train (p. 60) cut at 2 1/4"

Whimsical Wednesday ~ Textiles and Hop Winner

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is a Whimsical Designs on Wednesday!
First, I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone that stopped by for the "Love" Hop during this past weekend. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and leave comments. I hope you enjoyed all the projects the team shared. The winner will be announced below.

This Week's challenge...Use Textiles
I used cream colored lace beneath my train edge punch. It is a self-adhesive roll that I found at Michaels on clearance and it is the easiest to use. There are lots of great colors in different patterns too.
Personalized for a special birthday boy.
I bought this train edge punch quite some time ago and never really knew how I wanted to incorporate it into a projet until this card.
Materials:
Nates's ABCs ~ Train (p. 32) cut at 2" and font cut at 1/2"
My Mind's Eye paper
cream lace
train edge punch by EK Success
skittles by Abusybee

This week's sponsor...

Chugga Chugga...Choo Choo

Good Afternoon,

This morning I shared a layout for Exploring Cricut, and last night I shared a cute elephant card for Little Scrap Pieces. Now I have a card for numerous challenges.   I am thrilled since I haven't had the opportunity to enter too many recently.

This card would be perfect for any little man. I don't think I know any boys that do not like trains.
I used the card layout from the "case it" challenge at Allsorts.

Materials:
My Mind'S Eye paper ~ Lime Twist pad
grey and white card stock
Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge ~ train (p. 23) cut at 1 1/2"
Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge ~ sentiment (p. 68) cut at 2 1/4"
star buttons
brown ink

Challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
