Happy Holiday Tag

Hello Everyone,

Today was our Camp Days field trip and what a beautiful day it turned out to be. We were at Camp Kiwanis for a chunk of the school day and the students rotated to 6 different activities: Forestry Dept, PE, S'mores, Snowman Craft, Lunch, and Playground. Since my students are 5th graders, this was their last one (they will be in middle school next year) and many parents are sad to know their baby is growing up.

After school I came home and created this tag in honor of being in the forest all day (unfortunately we didn't see any deer at the camp).

The treat tag and stamped sentiment (Winter Wishes set) are by Jaded Blossom. The deer, snow drifts, and trees are by My Favorite Things. I used my Cuttlebug to cut out all the pieces.

I bought the white ribbon at the Scrapbook Expo and the polka dot ribbon is from Michaels.
Other Materials:
red, white, green, and kraft card stock
polka dot vellum
white pearls
Versafine Black Onyx ink

Challenges:

I sure am glad tomorrow is Friday. I am going to My Favorite Things on Saturday for the Snowflake Class with Pam (my daughter is coming and this will be her first class). Then only two days next week before Winter Break...half the school year is over. Wow!
Take Care,
Georgiana

Happy Birthday Baby Deer

Hello Everyone,

Hard to believe it is December...this year has quickly passed by and before you know it 2018 will be here. I started to clean my craft room yesterday since I knew my daughter was coming home from college for Winter Break. As I was organizing, it made me think about how much I love my crafty area. I laid out a bunch of projects on a side table that I plan on working on for/with my students next week and I hope they appreciate the arts just as much. I will be sharing photos of all the projects we make this year within the next two weeks!

Here is my Design Team project...
Today is my day to share at Miss Kate Cuttables. I created this birthday card for a friend's grandson. She asked me to personalize it (which she always does) and said the little boy's daddy loves camouflage. I just had to add a balloon since I figured all kids love them, especially when it says how old they are going to be.

I used the Baby Deer file from Miss Kate Cuttables and it was super easy to cut on my Cameo.
Other Materials:
brown, green, and white cardstock
MFT dies (Blueprint 20)
Trendy Twine

Do you know anyone with a birthday this month? My sister and two nieces have birthdays in December. I always feel bad for them. Their special days tend to blend in with Christmas.

Be sure to stop by Miss Kate Cuttables for your freebie...one every day.

Reindeer Crossing

Happy Friday!

This week sure has flown by, but it has been a fabulous Fall Break. We went Black Friday shopping this morning and found LOTS of great deals. We went to Old Navy, JCPenney, Home Depot, Lowe's, Dillards, Michaels, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. I need to go through all the stuff  and see what is left on the list. Hopefully not too much more!

I have also enjoyed spending time visiting my crafty friend's blogs and seeing what they have been making (it's been way too long). Theresa, Sukie, Migdalia, Lee-Ann, Beth, Janis, and Lisa...you ALWAYS have such creative projects to share!

I used the following sketch from Sketch Saturday.

For this card, I used MFT deer, stitched oval scallop edge frame, birch trees, stitched snow drifts, and fishtail flags. The background was created with Gansai Tambi watercolors.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs (retired).
Other Challenges:

Time to go wrap some presents and get the tree ready.

Masculine Birthday Greetings

Happy Saturday!
Although school just started two weeks ago, I am glad it is the weekend. I need to get quite a few things accomplished and need the long days to plan some productive lessons for the many low students I have this year. Also, my son's brithday was yesterday and I am looking forward to having a birthday meal with him (his choice is Red Robin so far ~ Yum!).

Here is my Design Team project (actually two)...
I was asked to make a hunting/camo card and a fishing card by another co-worker.

I used the MKC Gone Fishing Title and Fishing Pole file for the second card.

Be sure to stop by Miss Kate Cuttables for your freebie...one every week.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend,
Georgiana

November's Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans,

I am a little late sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas because of Halloween last night. Didn't get as much done as I wanted, but that is okay. Today is a new day! I made homemade banana bread and egg salad after school. I was feeling like Betty Crocker. I wanted some chocolate brownies too, but they will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope you will join us this week since it is the first of the month, which means it's a sketch. What is so great about a sketch is it has endless possibilities...colors, patterns, theme, etc.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I wanted to make my Secret Pal a thank you card for the surprise goodies I received in October. The pattern papers are by My Mind's Eye ~ Darling Dear stack and the Zig Zag stitched oval is by My Favorite Things.

The peeking reindeer is by Miss Kate Cuttables and the stamped sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ 2 Thumbs Up set. The stamp set is still available and is on sale for $9.99.
Other Challenges:

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "November's Sketch" challenge. The Design Team really did a fabulous job interpreting the sketch. We have birthday, sports, Thanksgiving...a variety of themes! Now it is your turn to give it a try!

If you like what you see, please become a follower!

What a Deer!

Hello Crafty Friends,

After watching the Law and Order: SUV marathon ALL yesterday  (those law shows sure are addicting) and not accomplishing much of anything, I decided I would create a card so I could join a few challenges.

My project for today...
An A2 card for any occasion focusing on a darling deer.

I used the following sketch from Pals Paper Arts.

The baby deer is from Miss Kate Cuttables. It was a freebie, but it is now in the 50 cent section. Lots of layers, but I didn't mind since I used my favorite color...brown. I think the teal bow "pops".

I used a stamp from Scrappy Moms...2 Thumbs Up! set
Other Materials:
DCWV paper ~ Linen Closet stack
browns, teal, and cream card stock
Brown ink (edges)
Potting Soil ink (sentiment) by Ranger
Latte Skittle by Carri

The Love Shack at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

If you are here for the Penguin Blog Hop, please scroll down or click here. Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win some blog candy.

My hubby and I just returned from shopping and Joanns happened to be one of the stops because we had to get a Disney cross stitch for my MIL since her birthday is this week. While there, I found some amazing deals too. Paper, stickers, stamps, and Spellbinders were 70% off. Yes, I found Spellbinders in the clearance section. Go check your Joanns today if you have one!  At this price the supplies will be gone quickly!

Today also is my Exploring Cricut Design Team Day. Sorry to be posting a littler than usual, but with the Penguin Blog Hop and Little Scrap Pieces I was trying to space the projects out.

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...
perfect for Valentine's Day
I thought this house looked like a Love Shack with the heart windows.
I used the hearts from the window on the right side. They are adhered with foam-dots for dimension.
Materials:
paper brands are unknown since they were given to me
brown card stock
April Showers Cricut cartridge ~ house cut at 3"
Live Simply Cricut cartridge ~ deer cut at 1 1/2"
Woodgrain embossing folder
cream lace
wiggly eye
pink pearl

Be sure to join us at Exploring Cricut on Monday for our new challenge.
