February Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday!
The week is off to a great start and there is plenty going on until the weekend. I have a trip to the Wellness Bus today, tutoring after school, an eye appointment on Wednesday, and a CAS meeting on Friday. Never a dull moment! I am thinking about taking a trip to MFT on Saturday morning since I won a gift certificate the other day and I really like a few of the new release items (like the ostriches, super dogs, and confetti stencil).

Today I am also sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
~ February's Sketch ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I really like this MFT heart tree die, but it is a lot of work piecing it back together in the variety of colors. Thanks goodness for the Silhouette Pick-Me-Up stick. I used the colors from the plaid paper for the leaves and hearts.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs (closed and not available).
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "February's Sketch" challenge. The design team has quite a variety, so be sure to check them out.

Love a Good Color Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today was Spaghetti Dinner for my son's Boy Scout that he was a member of for many years. He earned Eagle Scout through the troop and they paid for his college tuition, so it was a good time to show our support. My hubby is now in the living room watching the Super Bowl and I can hear him yelling at the TV. Me...I am in the craft room enjoying some creative time. It is not always easy to find the time since I have been busy with school (setting up a STEM Lab and conducting Science lessons), going to the Y, tutoring, and shopping (found some fabulous deals at Dillard's last weekend).

Today's project...
My friend asked me to make her a few Valentine cards for her family and I said, "of course". I wanted to use this new MFT heart stencil and after seeing the MFT color challenge I decided to blend the two together. I used Tim Holtz oxide inks (worn lipstick and wild violet) to create the background. Love the scattered hearts.

Here are the MFT colors...

LOVE is a MFT word die and the stamped sentiment underneath it is from Whimsical Designs (closed and no longer available). The scalloped circle is great as the focal point.

I cut a stitched rectangle with my Cuttlebug for this inside. I left it blank for a personal message.

Hope you have a great week.

Reindeer Crossing

Happy Friday!

This week sure has flown by, but it has been a fabulous Fall Break. We went Black Friday shopping this morning and found LOTS of great deals. We went to Old Navy, JCPenney, Home Depot, Lowe's, Dillards, Michaels, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. I need to go through all the stuff  and see what is left on the list. Hopefully not too much more!

I have also enjoyed spending time visiting my crafty friend's blogs and seeing what they have been making (it's been way too long). Theresa, Sukie, Migdalia, Lee-Ann, Beth, Janis, and Lisa...you ALWAYS have such creative projects to share!

I used the following sketch from Sketch Saturday.

For this card, I used MFT deer, stitched oval scallop edge frame, birch trees, stitched snow drifts, and fishtail flags. The background was created with Gansai Tambi watercolors.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs (retired).
Other Challenges:

Time to go wrap some presents and get the tree ready.

Warm Cocoa

Happy Wednesday,

It's the day before Thanksgiving here in the States and that also means Black Friday shopping starts soon. We went to Best Buy this afternoon after a movie and lunch, and there were already 3 or 4 people waiting in the que line outside (didn't see any tents this year). The weather isn't that cold, so I don't think they will needing any hot cocoa but I sure would enjoy some.

Today's project...
As the weather gets chillier this season, a cup of cocoa will warm your heart (my belly too).

I used the following sketch from Stella Says Sketch

The cocoa mug, stiched circle, and fishtail sentiment strip is by My Favorite Things and the stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs (retired). The blue self-adhesive gems are by Eyelet Outlet and Brads.
Other Materials:
core'dinations pattern paper
white, cream, brown, and teal cardstock
MFT scalloped edge die
VersaMagic Gingerbread ink

Other Challenges:

Have a wonderful night!

Fluttering By to Say "Hi" at Paper Play Sketches

Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!

Today is Paper Play Sketches Day.
This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
First, I had to decide which paper stack I wanted to use for this sketch. I chose Vintage Bliss by Simple Stories because of the color palette.

Then I needed to select an image for the square...I love butterflies, so I pulled out a die from my stash. This set had an embossing die, which left a slight imprint on the wings.

The stamped sentiment is an oldie by Whimsical Designs.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they used the sketch.

Summer Foods at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello!

I am back from the surgery center with my daughter and so far she is doing well. The doctor cleaned out some tissue around the knee, which will hopefully alleviate the continual pain she has suffered for the past couple of years. Follow-up with the doctor is in two weeks to see if she has healed properly. We may be doing this again with the other knee if this solves the problem.

Now I am ready to share some more news...it is Die Cuttin' Diva day!
This Week's Challenge...
~ Summer Foods ~

Here is my Design Team project...
There are a bunch of foods that I like to eat during the summer months, but I LOVE ice cream...especially when it is 95 degrees outside. My absolute favorite type is chocolate peanut butter. What about you...what is your favorite flavor?

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs. The pink hearts are from Eyelet Outlet and Brads.

The ice cream is by Miss Kate Cuttables, the zig zag stitched oval is a MFT die, and the perfectly plaid pattern paper is by Lawn Fawn.

I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Summer Foodchallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team projects.

Hello Diva Fans,

This Week's Challenge...
~ March Sketch ~

Here are my Design Team projects...
My first card...

This sitting bunny by KaDoodle Bug Designs is simply adorable with those floppy ears and over-sized feet. The stamped sentiment is by Docerela Creations.

I used pink jewels by Eyelet Outlet and Brads.

The second card...

The anchor is by Spellbinders, the zig zag stitched oval is by MFT, and the enamel dots are by Eyelet Outlet and Brads

I put the washi tape on strips of white card stock and then added a twine bow near the top of the blue anchor.

Pink Multi Jewels from Eyelet Outlet and Brads

Click here for the Valentine Hop or just scroll down.

Hello Everyone!
Today is my first day to post at Eyelet Outlet and Brads...very exciting! Before I share my design team project,  I want to let you know that there is a Daily Deal where you can get a product each day at a discounted price. YES! Every day a new deal. Be sure to check it out!

Here is my Design Team project...
I decided to make Valentine tags for my student's gift bags.  Since I have 20 students, I made 20 tags.

I used Multi Jewels which come in a variety of colors. I used the smallest pink jewels for the corner of my tags.

The tag base is by Miss Kate Cuttables, but the top layer is another file. The heart is from the mailbox I posted yesterday (SVG Cuts) and the stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs. I cut all the pieces with my Cameo.

I used pink ribbon and a black and white twine to attach the tag to the bag.

Here is the gift bag from yesterday's Valentine blog hop. I think it looks awesome together. If you missed the hop scroll down and check out the projects and blog candy. You still have time!
 Other Materials:
red, black, and white card stock
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Free Snowman Hugs at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,
Hope you all are doing well. I am back a little later than usual today to share the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I had to work on an ESE class that is required for my teacher certification, but I got half of it done. It was actually quite interesting!

This Week's Challenge...
~ Snowflake or Snowman ~
I hope you will join us this week since it is still winter and snow is falling in many areas. You may be able to look out the window and find inspiration nearby.

Here is my Design Team project...
I had a difficult time with this challenge since we don't get snow here in Florida and I am just not one for the cold weather (Brr...I am chilly just thinking about the white, fluffy stuff!).  After looking through my files I was able to find a snowman that made me smile and feel a little warm inside.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs ~ Snow Fun set.

I used my new Gansai Tambi watercolor paints (Ooh...I love them!) for the background, added a MFT Snow Drift Cover-Up, punched a few Fiskars snowflakes, and the Woodsy snowman by KaDoodle Bug Designs was cut with my Cameo.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Snowman or Snowflakechallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team snowy projects.

If you like what you see, please become a follower. Leave me your blog name and I will stop by to see what you have been creating!

Why Did the Reindeer Cross the Road?

Hello Diva Fans,

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas, which actually answers my question...Why did the reindeer cross the road? What do you think? To get to the other side, to go find a hunky reindeer, or maybe to go shopping?

This Week's Challenge...
Santa or Reindeer

Here is my Design Team project...
The reindeer crossed the road to get to Santa and his sleigh. Unless you believe that commercial you see on TV with Santa and his Mercedes, reindeer still work with Santa.

I used a file from Miss Kate Cuttables for this cute girl reindeer.

I added Cherry glitter glue to her bow, a few stitched trees by MFT, clear Wink of Stella for the sparkling snow, and Recollections pattern paper for the background.

The sentiment is by Whimsical Designs ~ Snow Much Fun stamp set. I used Archival Ink by Ranger ~ Potting Soil.

I thought both reindeer were cute, which is why I made the two. I just couldn't decide on one.

Another Miss Kate Cuttables girl reindeer file.

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Santa or Reindeerchallenge. The other design team members did an amazing job preparing for Santa's visit.

Happy Holidays!
