I Can't "Bear" It ~ I Want to Be With You

Hello Everyone!

I have a cute koala to share...and before you say anything...I know a koala is not a bear. I had to listen to my hubby tell me it is a marsupial, which I already knew. Then I had to give him a lesson on enjoying the fun stamps (which he has heard before too). The life of educators! : )

The koala is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The zig zag stitched oval is by My Favorite Things.

The sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ G'Day Mate stamp set. The set was sent to December's Guest Designers and what a fun set! Thank again Michelle and Candace.

Inside coordinates with the cover. Since my daughter claimed the card she had asked me to add a Happy Valentine's Day stamp. Done!
Other Materials:
pattern paper ~ scrap pile
grey, black, white, green, brown, and red card stock
Verafine Onyx Black ink

Hope you have a great night! Until next time...

A Sweet Strawberry and It's For You

Hello and thanks for visiting Carson's Creations.

I stopped at Tuesday Morning after going to lunch with the hubby today and found this cute pack of Valentine paper. I decided I would use it for the layout at Paper Play Sketches since I missed my posting earlier this week (some weeks are just crazy like that). You still have time to join and share your project. You can make a Valentine project, a birthday card, or any other occasion.

This Week's Sketch...

The chocolate covered strawberry is by Miss Kate Cuttables and I cut it on my Cameo.

The stamped sentiment is a K. Andrew stamp. The scalloped circle is a Lacey Circle by Spellbinders and the zig zag stitched circle is by MFT.
Other Materials:
Pattern paper by Pebbles ~ Be Mine stack
pink, brown, green, and white card stock
green glitter glue
Ranger Archival ink ~ Potting Soil
Hope you have a great night! Until next time...

Create with Watercolors

Happy Friday!
I woke up super early this morning and worked on some school papers since my hubby and I are attending a Golden Apple event tonight. It is a time for educators to mingle and then "The Teacher of the Year" is announced. It's a big annual event to celebrate all the great teachers in our county.

I pulled out my new Gansai Tambi watercolors by Kuretake. I tried them at the Orlando Scrapbook Expo last year and just got my box of 36 colors for Christmas (got mine from Amazon). Oooh...these colors are so vibrant and you only need a smidget of the color. You should give them a try if you get the opportunity or think about adding them to your collection.

Create is by Miss Kate Cuttables and I cut it on my Cameo. It is part of a bigger file that includes a glue gun, paint tubes, and buttons. A few matching sequins were scattered on the rainbow background.
Other Materials:
watercolor paper
white, grey, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet card stock
My Favorite Things stitched dies

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Peppermint Patty Treats

Thanks for stopping by at Carson's Creations! Today I am sharing If you Give a Crafter a Cookie's new challenge. These are quite creative challenges...you have a picture of a cookie (yes, a cookie) and you use it as inspiration to create your project....a card, a layout, a tag, a gift bag...anything!

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
Originally I was going to use the snowman portion of the photo, but the project I had planned didn't work out. I had to quickly rethink and decided to use the mitten with York Peppermint Patties.

The scalloped background is by My Craft Spot and the mitten is by Miss Kate Cuttables.

The stamped sentiment is by My Favorite Things ~ Candy Jar Companions  set.
Other Materials:
3" x 5" plastic bag
MFT fishtail flag
white and blue card stock
red craft thread
Versafine Black Onyx ink

Hope you will join us at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie this week for our "Photo Inspirationchallenge. The other design team members  all interpreted the picture differently, so go check it out!

Free Snowman Hugs at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,
Hope you all are doing well. I am back a little later than usual today to share the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I had to work on an ESE class that is required for my teacher certification, but I got half of it done. It was actually quite interesting!

This Week's Challenge...
~ Snowflake or Snowman ~
I hope you will join us this week since it is still winter and snow is falling in many areas. You may be able to look out the window and find inspiration nearby.

Here is my Design Team project...
I had a difficult time with this challenge since we don't get snow here in Florida and I am just not one for the cold weather (Brr...I am chilly just thinking about the white, fluffy stuff!).  After looking through my files I was able to find a snowman that made me smile and feel a little warm inside.

The stamped sentiment is by Whimsical Designs ~ Snow Fun set.

I used my new Gansai Tambi watercolor paints (Ooh...I love them!) for the background, added a MFT Snow Drift Cover-Up, punched a few Fiskars snowflakes, and the Woodsy snowman by KaDoodle Bug Designs was cut with my Cameo.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Snowman or Snowflakechallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team snowy projects.

Hershey Nuggets Make A Happy Day!

Happy Sunday...well, sort of...we are in the midst of a tornado warning with severe storms in the area. Hoping everyone stays safe! We are inside where it is dry and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the power does not go out. I want to get two more projects done tonight.

For today's project I'd like to share a file by SVG Cutting Files. It was from a Valentine Hop last year, but I never made it. So glad I remembered and found it! I cut it out on my Cameo.

The sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ With All My Heart set was stamped on a MFT fishtail flag.

The treat box file is called Arched Nugget Polar Bear Heart (It is still available in the store.). I wrapped Hershey chocolate nuggets with matching pattern paper.
Other Materials:
Heart pattern paper  ~ Recollections
white, pink, red, and black card stock
red heart gem
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Write On with Paper Play Sketches

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by.  Today I am sharing the new challenge at Paper Play Sketches. Great way to combine a few challenges since you can choose any colors, theme, sentiment, etc.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
We have a BIG state mandated writing test coming up at the end of February and we have been practicing our writing and how to cite sources within our paper. When I saw this pencil it made me think of my students. I only made one of these cards (which I may give to a co-worker), but I thought I should make little note cards for each student and write a motivation quote to each of them. Of course, I would omit the bow for the boys. : )

The pencil is by SVG Cutting Files ~ Kawaii Nerdy School set. The sentiment came from an old stamp set ~ Pink by Design.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Making it a Sketch Sunday

Today is almost over, but I am feeling quite accomplished. I had a few sketches that I wanted to work on today and I did. I also planned a few Valentine projects that I will be making over the next couple of days. What a productive day! I need a few more!

For the first card I used Recollections Craft It Vintage Glam paper, which was all about the sparkle.  A gold bow (yes, that is gold although it looks more copper in this lighting) was created with my bow maker and then the My Craft Spot mini tag was heat embossed with gold glitter powder.

I used the following sketch from Your Next Stamp.

The birthday sentiment  and stitched circle are MFT dies. I used my Cuttlebug to cut them out. A few Teresa Collins gold enamel dots were scattered around the top portion.

My second card is a thank you card since I never seem to have any in my stash. One of my students brought me a can of Pringles the other day just because we were talking about our favorite chips. She was so sweet! I didn't have a card for her, so I made one. I used Lawn Fawn plaid paper, the flower is a MFT die, and thanks is a Sizzix die.

I used the following sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

The last card I am sharing is in honor of the upcoming inauguration. No matter your political party or who you voted for, you should still support your country.

I used the following sketch from My Favorite Things
The I heart USA is by Miss Kate Cuttables. The pattern papers are by The Stamps of Life.

I need to take a brief break from crafting, so I can grade a few papers. Then I will be back to visit blogs and leave comments. If you like what you see, please become a follower. Don't forget to leave me your blog name, so I can stop by to see what you have been creating!

Just curious...do you have Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr's birthday? We do!

Do You Love Trying New Products?

Happy Friday!
Although it is Friday the 13th and a full moon, today is going to be fabulous. It's a three day weekend, hubby said he wants to watch football Saturday and Sunday (which means crafting time), and we are going to Jacksonville on Monday to see my daughter.  Like I said, it's going to be a terrific day.

The other day I pulled out my new Ken Oliver Color Burst powders. I found a few You Tube videos to watch about the product. The first one by Ken's Kreations had six different techniques. The second one was by Sparkle N Sprinkle. I chose only one color to begin with because I had Valentine's Day on my mind...Alizarin Crimson.

First, I used MFT dies from Blueprints 20 to cut the background mats. I used watercolor paper and spritzed it with water using a Tim Holtz mister. I sprinkled a few drops of Color Burst powder and spread it around with an acrylic block. Warning: this can be messy and can discolor your fingers.

These are my new MFT Pierced Hearts. I got them last week during a Blitz Wednesday sale. Love to save so I can get more! I cut white foam instead of card stock to add dimension. Then I used clear  glitter Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to each heart. The word love came from a crafty friend, Karen at Little Scrap Pieces ...Thank you Karen!

A big black bow to finish it off.
Hope you are not too superstitious and can enjoy your Friday!

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie

Thanks for stopping by at Carson's Creations! Today I am sharing If you Give a Crafter a Cookie's new challenge. These are quite creative challenges...you have a picture of a cookie (yes, a cookie) and you use it as inspiration to create your project....a card, a layout, a tag, a gift bag...anything!

This Week's Challenge...
Aren't these penguins super playful looking?!

Here is my Design Team project...
I have had this post-it holder sitting on my Cameo mat for a few weeks and then I decided to use it for this penguin (rather than the thank you bird that came with the file).

This is an old svg file I had in my download stash. It is by PPbN. The sentiment was sitting in a pile on my craft table, so I am glad it finally is being used. It goes along with the note pad because you can write notes for any reason you want.

I was fortunate to have some pink post-its to match.

I know this pen is too big for this post-it holder, but I wanted you to see the concept.
Other Materials:
pink, purple, black, white, and orange card stock
Recollection pattern paper ~ Purple Swag
white pearls
Versafine Onyx Black ink

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
After going to the eye doctor's a few weeks ago and learned that I will need to wear glasses all the time (rather than wear just my readers), I decided to get a little nerdy.

This chick is by Pretty Paper, Pretty RibbonsI removed the lenses and added the big wiggly eyes to make him nerdy instead of cool looking. The sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ We Go Together Like...stamp set.
Other Materials:
yellow, red, black, white, and orange card stock
My Favorite Things dies ~ Fishtail and stitched circle
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Here is my Design Team project...

MFT Blueprints 20 was used first to cut the background (scalloped frame, stitched rectangle, and fishtail banners.). Little Scraps of Heaven ~ Dragon file.

Recollections pastel pattern paper
Versafine Onyx Black ink
