How About Some Cocoa After Skating?

Good Morning,

Although I live in Florida now, when I was younger and lived in Massachusetts I used to ice skate when the local ponds froze over or friends and I would go to the ice skating rink. I don't remember ever being very good at it (I liked roller skating much better!), but it was a popular winter sport. I am sure it had to do with the cold weather. I probably wouldn't stay out long enough to get good at it since I prefer warm places. What I do know, hot cocoa was and still is the perfect way to warm up.

I am glad my children have had the opportunity to try ice skating a few times. We have been to Ober Gatlinburg when they were younger, our city brought in a portable ice skating rink for the holidays a couple years ago, and we even went on a cruise that had a rink.

I "Hare" a Thanks

Hello,

This week has gone by quickly and school has kept me very busy once again, but I did find some time to create a card during the last two nights. I found a sketch I liked at Tuesday Morning Sketches and I used a bunny from Live Simply that I haven't cut before.

After adding the sentiment, I remembered that two teachers at school were expecting. I should have used a Congrats or Little One. Since I like this s.e.i paper pack I am going to have make another card using these colors. Both teachers are expecting boys, so it will be perfect.

Happy Birthday Die Cuttin' Divas!

Welcome!

Today we are celebrating Die Cuttin' Diva's first birthday with a sketch and a hop. The very first challenge (fun Winter cards) was posted January 25, 2011...Happy Birthday!

I just love to celebrate birthdays, especially when there are cupcakes. Chocolate are my all time favorite, but I will eat any type if they are sweet. I made this cupcake card for my niece's 15th birthday. Hope she finds it almost as yummy as the real thing.

My Daughter's Challenge and the Winner

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is the day.

The day before we go back to school, the day after New Years, and the day to announce the winner of the Holiday Spirit Giveaway.

First, I have a card to share with you. My daughter wanted to challenge me to a card creation contest last night. She is gung-ho right now (especially since she won the Tuesday Morning Sketch), so I could not refuse. She was allowed to pick the sketch, in which she selected CPS (Card Positioning Systems) and then we would compare our final project.

Be a Friend

Hello and Happy New Year!

I hope you had a relaxing day and your 2012 is off to a great start. This morning I hopped along with Diana of DL.Art to help celebrate her First Blogoversary. There were so many wonderful projects in her honor. She offered a challenge at the end and I definitely wanted to be a part of it. I found the four key words and got busy.

Today, I also decided that I am going to try and use a variety of cuts from my Cricut cartridges. There are a few cuts that I am very comfortable with and there are TONS that I haven't even tried. The card I made below has a new cut for me and it sure is cute.

Wow!

I have been visiting so many crafty friends during the past couple of days that I am overly impressed with all the creativity. It amazes me how much talent and variety there is. Can't wait to see more!

I am back from my friend's house. We planned two more weeks of Physical Science (static electricity, circuits, and insulators/conductors) and she already wants to get together again to plan the next unit. Phew! I told her I needed a break, so I could go craft. Of course, she understood ESPECIALLY since she liked her classroom door sign. She said I should be selling them, but I think I am going to make another one for a different teacher friend instead. I'd rather show them how much I appreciate them. : )

I have recently become friends with a 4-H gal who raised a pig for the fair and she asked to make her a Thank You card. I told her "Sure!"

I sent her this picture after I made the card and she asked for 5 total. Yeah! My husband told me he wanted one for a teacher at his school becuase her last name is Swineheart. He said, "You get it? Swine like a pig?" Okay, I will make him one too as long as I don't get any more of his funny jokes. : )
