Today brings the last challenge of 2012 at Die Cuttin' Divas and what better way to celebrate than with a new project. Lots of new challenges and sponsors, and a few changes coming in 2013.

Here are my Design Team projects...

This may look familar. I used the sketch previously, but just had to try the shimmery red glitter paper. It was easy to cut, but the glitter did continue coming off the edges. 

 

My husband was just transferred from an elementary to a high school principal position, but he still wanted to get his new administrative staff a small gift to show his appreciation for making his transition easier. He wasn't sure of her religion yet, so we went with non-traditional colors.

The silver snowflake glistens when the light hits it just right.

Matching Gift Card Set

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

 

Today begins a new challenge at Exploring Cricut and I have this wonderful set to share that I made for my husband's sister and nieces. Since we do not celebrate the holidays with them, we usually get them a gift card which is nice and easy to mail. Instead of mailing the gift card in the envelop the store provides, I thought it would be more festive to create a holder.

It's a Wonderful Time of Year

 

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...

The card is for my sister-in-law. I used The Sweet Stop sketch (shown below). The gift cards will fit nicely inside. That was one of my husband's requirements...no boxes to mail!

 

I used the teabag cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More 2. I cut each holder at 4 1/4". This was the first time I used this cartridge (I even had to open cut open the shellcase.).

There sure are a lot of neat boxes on this cartridge. My daughter wants me to make her a milkbox. She is spending a couple days with the grandparents, so I am going to surprise her by having one ready when she gets back. : )

Rockin' The Holidays

Hello Crafty Friends,

 

First day of Winter Break and didn't even sleep in late. Woke up just like a regular school day. Hoping to get a lot accomplished during my two weeks off. I have Christmas shopping to finish and cards to make for family and friends. Then I need to work on Thank You cards for my class. My students were very generous...of course, I can't brag about them enough!

 

Today happens to be my Exploring Cricut day. I STILL love to use my Cricut. I search for deals on cartridges and continue to add to my collection. I guess I am not good with some changes (new machines) and why switch if mine is still working. 

 

Here is my Design Team project...

This card was personalized at the request of a co-worker for her grandson.

 Hoping he (Job) has a rockin' good time on his first Christmas!

Celebrating the Holidays at Little Scrap Pieces

Hello Crafty Friends,

 

Today was our last day of school before Winter Break. It was a good day since we finished a chapter book (The Lemonade War) that we have been working on for the past two weeks and then we had a holiday party. I sure hope the students enjoy their time off and are ready to work when we get back in January 2013.

 

This is the second week for Little Scrap Piece's Design Team. Last week the projects were amazing. I am looking forward to another week of fabulous creations.

 

Here is my Design Team project...

 

I used Carri's clear glitter skittles for the snowflakes.

 I was looking for an elegant feel using these non-traditional colors. I think the pearls are just the right touch on the shimmering gold.

Greetings and Peace to a Winner

 I made a few Christmas cards today using the Sweet Stop sketch and plan on making a couple more. Hoping to sell a few this week before Winter Break begins.

I used Winter Woodlands for the pointsettia and sentiment. Made a stick pin with red and green beads too.

Little Scrap Pieces Newest Design Team

What a fabulous day it is! Not only is it Friday (one more week until Winter Break), but today is Karen's, of Little Scrap Pieces, newest challenge. Well, not only does she have a new challenge, but she has a new design team too. Karen asked me to join her and I jumped at the opportunity to say "YES!"

When I think of Christmas I think of winter. Winter means cold weather (BRRR!) and everyone needs to keep their hands warm.
