This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...

Keeping with the festive holiday season....a Christmas wreath

I cut the wreath on my Cameo and the MFT sentiment was cut with my Cuttlebug. Little berries add a pop of red color on the green wreath. 

Golly...the more I look at this picture those polka dots don't look green! My lighting must be horrible! I think they are a shade of blue and not green like the stripes. Hmmm? Should I keep it the way it is or change the strip to a different pattern with green?

A Merry and Bright Wreath

Busy at work!

 Busy at passing the time away!

 

The weekend is almost here again. Yeah! With a list that keeps growing there is so much to do. I have been creating holiday cards (and I still need to make many more), treats bags, and the orders are coming in again. Only two more weeks till Winter Break! Hopefully I will be able to get it all done!

 

Here are a set of holiday cards using a previous Tuesday Morning Sketch.

The wreath was cut from Celebrate with Flourish and it is now a favorite.

 

 

I rotated the sketch, but used the same wreath (just cut smaller) and holiday papers from Recollections ~ Festiva stack.

12 Days of Christmas Challenges at Frosted Designs

Merry  Christmas!

 

 Frosted Designs has a month long challenge to celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas. You can enter one, all twelve, or as many as you want before December 31st. I have decided to post all of them together rather than separately.   

 

Here are my 12 Days of Christmas projects...

Happy Holidays with No Red or Green

Theme: Christmas with a Twist ~

NO Red or Green!

Here is my project:

 I was looking for an elegant feel using these non-traditional colors. I think the pearls are just the right touch on the shimmering gold.

Can it Be? Christmas in July, Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Christmas in July Hop hosted by Lisa of Scrapping with Lisa handmade with love. If you came from April of Curls and Grins, then you are in the right spot.

I am extremely thrilled that you have returned today for another project. I had a good time making this holiday card because I used a mosiac technique. I used some scraps that I had from last Christmas and created my own background paper. I love how it looks and how versatile it is. You can create a dozen of these backgrounds and none of them have to look alike.

These were the materials I started with and then added solid red, white, and green cardstock.

 First, I used a rectangular piece of paper for the bottom layer. I wanted to be able to leave space between the boxes to add a framed look. Then, I cut the scrap paper into various shapes (squares and rectangles) and sizes. A glue pen was used to adhere the pieces.  

 Once my background was complete, I was able to cut an image. I selected a couple wreaths in two different sizes to see which one I liked best. One was cut from the Gingerbread cartridge (left) and the other was cut from Jolly Holidays (right). They were cut at 3 1/2" and 4".

I chose the wreath from Jolly Holidays  ~ 3 1/2". I added the swirl embossing and created a shadow (cut at 3 3/4") since it is not a feature on this cartridge. The red gems sparkle in the light, which make the card more attractive rather than the paper berries that were cut with the bow.   

The wreath has been adhered with foam squares to add dimension and the sentiment was cut from the Wild Card cartridge.

I have started another background to show you more options.
