I think I have finally created a header that I am content with. I added a blurb under the title which describes me perfectly...frugal. When I go shopping I always look for the deals. I hardly ever buy anything at regular price.

Joann and Michaels have had great deals lately,  so I keep stocking up. There isn't too much left since everyone else in town has been taking advantage of these deals too.

• There are coupons on Hobby Lobby and Michaels' websites every week, they give them to you at the checkout register, and they will e-mail them to you if you are on their mailing list. Oh yeah, I think they even will match competitor's ads.
• I have a teacher card for Joann that gives me another 15% off everything.
• I purchase my Cricut cartridges on eBay at a fraction of the cost that the stores charge, plus you got to love no tax or shipping fees.

Made by Momo "Love" Challenge

This week's challenge at Made by Momo is to make a project of what "Love" means to you. You can also just do a "Love" themed card or layout.

I created a layout of my son and his love for music. He owns numerous guitars and is always looking for the next one. The first picture is at Christmas when he received his acoustic. The second picture was taken during a visit to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame (We live in Florida, so this was just a day trip.).

I used metallic blue paper for the background and the pattern paper is from the RockStar stack by DCWV. The guitar was cut from the Potpourri cartridge at 4". The hearts were cut from Plantin Schoolbook at various sizes.

Christmas/Snowman Challenge

I live in Florida and the weather has been extremely HOT, so to create a Christmas card or think about a snowman gives me an opportunity to COOL off (at least to pretend I am cooling down).  I created a "Happy Holidays" card for three different challenges:

I used dark blue card stock for the base, which was created at 9" from Celebration. I then layered a few pieces of light blue pattern papers. I layered two different types of ribbon in the center with a small bow on the side. I cut my 4" snowman from Potpourri. His buttons are silver gems. I made the snow by tearing the edges of white card stock. The sign was created the same way with brown card stock, and the sentiment was typed on Microsoft Word.

Lost Without You

Here is my most recent creation...Lost Without You. The moose is my favorite animal and if you ever were to visit my house or classroom you would know that immediately. Although I have never seen one yet, I hope to in the fututre.

There are two challenges that I am using this card for. The first is the Throwback Thursday #60 with Emma at My Creative Time which is to create a project with an animal theme. The second is "It's a Guy Thing" Challenge #6 at Paper Playtime.

I created this card using primarily the Camp Out cartridge. The grass was cut with Plantin Schoolbook and the cabin was cut from My World. Camp Out does have a cabin too, but I used the blackout mode for the sentiment to keep it simple. The inside is layered cardstock with moose tracks in the corners.

Peachy Keen Challenge #32: Vacation

Our family went on a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean during our Spring Break and what a wonderful vacation it was. Cruises are my favorite since you can play, swim, eat, see new places, relax, and you never have to cook or clean. The kids can go to the kid's club, the hubby can go to the casino (or all the trivia contests), and I can....go to the spa.

One of the classes they offered was a scrap booking class, so my daughter and I decided to go. We had done a few layouts in the past, but we wanted to know if it was instructional or just a time to create. We met with one of the assistant activity directors and it was just a time to use their paper and stickers to get started. We decided...why not. The first three pictures are the layouts we started on the cruise and then we finished once we returned home and had the pictures developed.

The Peachy Keen Challenge #32  for this week is to create a project with a vacation theme and use buttons, brads, or bling. I created a tropical card and used brads in my florals. I used an edge punch and added ribbon on the inside of card.

CPS 174

Last night, I decided to change my background and boy was that a learning experience. Everytime I clicked on a link the screen would change colors and it wouldn't stop flashing. I was determined to fix the problem and after quite some time I think I have worked out most of the kinks, and the new colors are more like my personality (brown and blue are my favorite colors). I would like to add another feature, but...I'd  rather work on more projects instead. I completed the CPS card and have another one for the Peachy Keen Challenge half done.

Here is design for Card Sketch #174 and my take on it. I was quite literal with my final product. I used white cardstock for the base card then black and silver for the layers. The circles and stars were cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and foam dots separate each layer. I did not add a sentiment yet, but this card could be used for Congratulations, You're Out of This World, or You Rock (name of scrapbook stack by DCWV).

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #17

"Creepy Crawlers" with Orange: Make a project using any type of bug AND use the color Orange somewhere on your project.

I found this DCWV paper and just had to use it for this design along with one of my favorite cartridges, Walk in My Garden. The butterflies and flowers are just wonderful and can be used with any theme.

First, I created the base card by using a solid brown piece of cardstock and trimmed it with my papercutter. Then I trimmed the solid blue sheet to fit centered. I used my new corner paper punch to create the designer corners. Let me tell you, I had to read the directions and practice because I did not know the paper fit under each corner. (Yes, I am new at this!) I created the flower by layering each piece using foam dots in-between to give it depth. I topped the flower with a gren button. The orange, blue, and cream butterfly is flying in 3-D. The sentiment (Hi!) is from Wild Card.
