Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge ~ It's Anything Goes

Hello!
I'd like to thank everyone that sent FB messages yesterday in regards to my son's car accident. He walked away (thank goodness) and was only complaining of airbag burns, a back ache, and a sore hand. I am hoping today he doesn't feel any more pains. I have to bring him to work this morning, so I will be checking on him. The car was towed and insurance assessed the damage already. I was quite impressed with the claim agents and how quickly they were able to assist. The cost to repair the car is just over $10,000. Hopefully they won't find any other concerns and it will be fixed within the next two weeks. I am glad I am off for the summer, so I can help him get around.

The challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy began yesterday while all this happening, but you still have almost a week to create and submit.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Anything Goes ~
~ The Best Challenge ~

Here is my Design Team project...
A co-worker asked me to make a watermelon themed birthday card for her granddaughter.

The Miss Kate Cuttables' cute watermelon was cut with my Cameo. I also used a couple different MFT dies (Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Rectangle Frames and stitched rectangle from a Blueprints) that were cut with my Cuttlebug.

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes set. A pink and green bow along with a few black gems were the final touch.
Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy this week for our "Anything Goeschallenge. Be sure to check out the other DT projects.

It's a Refreshing Summer with the Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back and thank you for visiting!
I have been busy crafting and cleaning. My hubby even teased me yesterday saying I should be a stay at home mom since he liked having dinner ready right when he got home for work. Then he said , "Not going to happen until the kids are on their own." Boys...kids sure expensive, aren't they?!?! Between high school and college...need I say more!

Today brings a new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas, so here is another opportunity for you to share your newest creation.

The Challenge... Refreshing Summer
When I think of summer not only do I think  about the beach and pool, but I think about cookouts with watermelon. It seems we don't eat it any other time of the year except summer. Here in Florida you can find a truck on the side of the road at any corner selling whole melons for only a couple dollars.

Here is my Design Team project...
Tip of the Day...Don't be afraid to use a variety of embellishments. I have combined skittles by Carri, my handmade stick pin, and gingham ribbon. Use a variety of colors and be creative!
I used the sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy.
Materials:
papers are from scrap box (really trying to use them!)
Preserves Cricut cartridge ~ watermelon slice (p. 39) cut at 2"
"Just Because" Cards Cricut cartridge ~ sentiment (p. 55) cut at 2"
skittles ~ meadow, watermelon, and sunset orange
beads and straight pin
pink and white gingham ribbon
pink ink on edges

Here Comes Summer...Enjoy!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today brings a new challenge at Exploring Cricut.

The Challenge...Here Comes Summer

Here is my Design Team project...
I decided to make treat bags for my students for the last day of school. I had asked to loop with my group, but I was told the other day that I will be staying in 4th grade. Not a problem! The next group will be a challenge, but who said teaching was easy? I will be able to "Enjoy Summer" before worrying.
The perfect candy for summer...Sour Patch Watermelons and Lemon Heads. Time to pucker up those lips! Found them at Walgreens.
Each bag has at least an individual serving (15 - 20 pieces). Time to get some more of these bags since I have been making treats for my students. A trip to the flea market will be planned next weekend...100 bags for $2 - $4 depending on the booth that is open.
Busy cutting out all the pieces and adhering them together.
Watermelons
 Shining Suns

pink, green, black, yellow, and white card stock
Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge ~ watermelon (p. 98) cut at 2 1/4"

Summer Fun!

If you are looking for my One Year Blogoversary Giveaway, please click here.

Hello.  Summer sure is a fun time of year!
I have been super busy in a math meeting this week trying to prepare our testing curriculum for next  school year. I know we just got out and we are already preparing for the next one. I enjoy being a part of the process, so...I am going back next week for the Science portion.

When I get home in the afternoon I have been working on preparing for the 3 upcoming hops (please see right sidebar) that I am participating in, creating cards for my design team projects (Paper Playtime and Die Cuttin' Divas), and then trying to squeeze in a challenge or two.

Although it has been storming everyday, I am still in the mood for a yummy picnic. Fourth of July seems like a great time to celebrate and have a piece of watermelon with a glass of lemonade. Afterwards if the weather is nice, maybe we can go fly a kite.
Challenge:

Bitten By the Bug2 ~ watermelon

Simply Charmed ~ p.46 ~ watermelon cut at 2 3/4" ~ black brads for seeds
Create a Critter ~ p. 61 ~ Sweet cut at 3/4"

Simply Charmed ~ p. 48 ~ Lemonade glass cut at 3 1/2" and lemon cut at 1 1/4"
Create a Critter ~ p.39 ~ Just Chillin' cut at 1"

Challenges:
Scrappy Frogs ~ Red

Please note: Foil paper may cause a glare when photographing.
Create a Critter ~ kites (p. 48) cut at 3 3/4" and Sunny Days (p. 52) cut at 1"

I hope you are enjoying your summer.
