Turtle Day at Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday!
Today is our final Awards Assembly for Fifth Grade and my last one too since I will not be in the same position next year. I recently read this quote...

“Changes are inevitable and not always controllable. What can be controlled is how you manage, react to and work through the change process.”

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Turtle Day ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I created an alcohol ink background to look like water. The sunny turtle is by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

This stamped sentiment is from a retired set by K. Andrews. You just never know what you will find in your stash.

My hubby said he really like the sunglasses on the turtle. Makes him look pretty cool.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Turtle" challenge.  Our sponsor this week is My Scrap Chick.

3-2-1: I Turtley Adore You at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans!
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
~ 3- 2 - 1 ~
You must use 3 pattern papers, 2 embellishments, and 1 ribbon or bow.

Here is my Design Team project...
I had two these pattern papers sitting on my craft table and decided to finally use them...I just had to choose a third piece to fit the challenge. I used two skittles from DoubleClick and finally added a twine bow for the third component of the 3-2-1.

I used the following sketch from Sunday Stamps.

I just received the MFT turtle in the mail and had to use it right away. After I stamped it, I realized I should have used my daughter's technique. She heat embosses the stamped image with clear embossing powder. It makes a sharp outline and prevents bleeding. If I have time after school, I may give it another try and replace my image.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "3-2-1challenge.

These Turtles are a Little Slow

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping byToday I am posting for the regularly scheduled Carri of DoubleClick at Eyelet Outlet and Brads since she covered me while I was redoing my craft room. THANKS Carri for being an awesome teammate!

Here is my Design Team project...

The turtles fit perfectly within these stitched squares (which is part of  the MFT Blueprint 20).

The sentiment is computer generated and I added a green button with a Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine bow.

I don't know who I will give this to, but I know I am always (well, maybe just often) late so it will come in handy. Being late comes natural...I was born ten days late! Story of my life!

I used the following products from Eyelet Outlet and Brads shop...

From the Ocean Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's is already the middle of the week, which means it is time for a new DoubleClick Skittles Challenge. Thanks to everyone for sharing their craft space. Wow! I picked up a few ideas to help organize my area just a little bit more. The winner of my surprise bundle will be announced below.

This Week's Challenge...
From the Ocean
What could you find in the ocean...fish, sharks, crabs, eels, dolphins...so many options!

Here is my Design Team project...
I used MORE scraps to create this pair of ocean friendly cards.  The colors reminded me of a summer sunset...gorgeous view on the Florida coast.

I used yellow skittles with this Miss Kate Cuttables sea turtle. Then grunge ribbon, a yellow button, a white bow, and a mini tag tie all the background colors together.

For my second card I just had to use this fun shade-wearing beach crab from Miss Kate Cuttables. I used yellow and sunset orange skittles.

Are you ready for the beach now?!?!

Share Your Craft Space Blog Hop Winner is...

Congrats Julie!
Send me an e-mail with your mailing address, so I can get your surprise bundle of craft goodies in the mail!

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the "From the Ocean" challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. Be sure to check out the other Design Team members and see how they used the skittles.

Thanks for stopping by!

I "Moose" Love You and Other Valentines

Hello Crafty Friends (and Fellow Moose Lovers),

Many of you may remember that I love moose and have been collecting them for a few years. My bedroom has more moose items than I really need and my class even has a small collection. When I saw this cut I could not resist!
I purchased him from the Silhouette On-line Store. I add Glossy Accents and pink glitter glue to the hearts. The stamp is from Whimsical Designs and the jute ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM.

Here is another one with him. I personalized it with the grandchildren's names on each heart for a co-worker.

Since I missed posting a few Valentines before the holiday with having such a busy week, here they are...
Designs on Cloud 9 freebie
PPbN freebie
Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge
Treasure Box Designs freebie
Designs on Cloud 9 freebie

I had a busy week partially because of school/meetings, but I am also taking a photography class. I have only been twice and the first night was introductions. The second night we talked about White Balance and F-StopsI sure do understand how my students feel when I am explaining a lesson and they are clueless!  I felt like that when he was talking about aperture and ISOHoping to learn more in the next few weeks (since I have LOTS to learn) and I am optimistic that that my picture quality will improve! If not, I may need private lessons!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, especially if you have President's Day off. I am off, so I plan on crafting, shopping, getting school work completed, and explore with the Nikon camera.

Reptiles Are Coming

Good Afternoon,

I hope you are all well today. I didn't have time to post my card this morning before leaving for school; therefore, I am getting it done now. I sure hope you had the opportunity to stop by Die Cuttin' Divas today to see the new weekly challenge...Reptiles!

I love how this turtle card came out. The shell is attached with foam dots to add dimension. There is a shadow so he does not blend with the background.
 Materials:
Animal Kingdom cartridge ~ turtle cut at 2 1/4"
Wild Card cartridge ~ marsh  cut at 4 1/2" in cream and grunge green
Time Holtz paper ~ Retro Grunge
brown crinkled ribbon
brown gems
wiggly eyes

Other images on the cartridge...

Here are some other reptiles to help you with the challenge this week.

I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas.
