Wear Your Hat...with Buttons

Good Morning,

Welcome back for another challenge at Made Especially for You. You are going to enjoy this week's challenge. I sure did since I was able to use one of my favorite embellishments.

This week's challenge...3 Buttons

Here is my Design Team project...
Materials:
Kate's ABCs ~ hat3 (p. 28) cut at 2"
K&Company paper ~ Edamame stack
blue card stock
Fiskars corner punch
computer generated sentiment

"Fashion is a kind of communication. It's a language without words. A great hat speaks for itself."

"Wearing a hat is like having a baby or a puppy; everyone stops to coo and talk about it." (Louise Green)

With the right hat, nothing else matters. (LaPaloma Hats)

So many hats and only one head!

Beautify America. Wear a hat!

Are You a Gator Fan?

Although I live in Florida and only 45 minutes from the University of Florida (UF), I decided to attend USF (Tampa). I have a co-worker that has a son who is a BIG Gator fan and his birthday is next week.

I made this card just for him.
Yes, the school colors are orange and blue.

  • The gator and sentiment were cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge.
  • The orange paper is BoBunny.
  • various buttons and ribbon

Hope you have a great day!

Something Cute

When someone tells you to make something "cute" it opens the door to so many opportunities. Well, that is what Robyn said at My Pink Stamper. I decided to use the Doodlecharms cartridge because everything is so adorable.

  • I layered yellow metallic paper with polka dotted paper by Debbie Mumm. I used the Dots Cuttlebug folder to emboss all the circles.
  • I criss-crossed the sheer polka dotted ribbon and tied a button with blue embroidery floss in the center.
  • I cut the gumball machine from Doodlecharms at 2 1/2". The gumballs are various small buttons. I used foam dots to adhere to paper.
  • The "Sweet" is stamped in orange and layered on the yellow metallic paper.
I definitely think it is "cute" and ready for a child. I am thinking about bringing some of my cards to the local hospital wing ~ Pediatric units or a nursing home.  After reading about Robyn's Random Act of Kindness it made me think of what more can I do to help my community. I am sure those sick kids or lonely seniors would love to receive something special.

Button, Buttons, and More Buttons

My daughter and I went to Joann's this afternoon and found a bunch of buttons on clearance for 10 cents, 25 cents, and 50 cents; therefore, so we stocked up. I also received 15% off with my teacher discount.

She picked out most of the buttons on the bottom row.

When we returned home, I separated all the buttons in a craft organizer.
Curious to know...how do you organize your embellishments? Please share your tips here for others!

Now I am ready to start crafting before the season finale of Leverage.

Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day weekend.
