January Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy Tuesday! I head back to school today for a Teacher Workday and the students return tomorrow. Hopefully everyone is well rested and ready to learn. This part of the year can get hectic with state testing not too far away.

Today I am also sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas...first one for 2017.

This Week's Challenge...
~ January Sketch ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I never have any Get Well cards, so I am off to a great start for 2017. I hope no one gets sick, but I know flu season is right around the corner.

I used a Miss Kate Cuttables file ~ Sorry You're Sick for the tissue box. The sentiment is by Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ More Mini Messages set.

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "January Sketchchallenge. The other design team members did an amazing job interpreting the sketch.

Sunshine Linky Party at Pause Dream Enjoy

Hello Everyone,

Happy Friday! Today is the last day of pre-planning week and it is Meet Your Teacher day, so I will be meeting many of my new students. I have 21 students on my roster, so I am hoping for a great turnout!

Today is also a new Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party.

This Week's Challenge...
Sunshine
I decided to do something a little different. Rather than using a sun...I was thinking about our Sunshine Committee. It is a group that meets regularly to send well wishes, congrats, and/or plans parties. One of the occasions that they send cards is "Get Well".

I used yellow (like the sun) for the letters and ribbon to cheer up the recipient. The cut is from SVG Attic.

Another Get Well card with a yellow background.

This cut is from My Scrap Chick.

Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party this week for our "Sunshinechallenge. The other design team members have a variety of projects, so be sure to check them out today!

Here's my project I created:
Seems like so many people are feeling ill this time of year with stomach bugs, allergies, or upper respiratory...I thought why not have a get well card ready.

The Simply Said stamp set has such a variety. This is just one of the many fabulous sentiments in the set. It stamped nicely with brisk, clear lines.

I found this Nurse Bear at Silhouette On-line store. Isn't she just precious! I know if I had a boo-boo she would make me feel better!

Just a close-up of the cutest smiling bear!

Other Materials:
red and white pattern paper
brown, white, red, black, and kraft card stock
white pleated ribbon
black Versafine ink

Get Well Soon

Good Morning and Happy Easter

I hope everyone is doing well today. Yesterday we went to Orlando, so my daughter could pick out her birthday present. She is going to be 14 on Monday and she is extremely excited. We have plans to go out to dinner with the grandparents and then we are going to enjoy a piece cookie cake.

After we came home last night, I was able to work on a card for a few challenges. Since I wasn't able to do much crafting this past week with getting school work done, it was nice to be able to create.  We only have 8 weeks left with an extremely jammed pack schedule, but I am going to continue to try and enter some more challenges.

For this card, I used a Sweet Stop sketch (posted below). They have some FABULOUS layouts. Go check them out!

Materials:
K1 Memories ~Enchanting mat pad
pink, white, and kraft cardstock
Paisley cartridge ~ umbrella
brown an dpink flowers
pink gems
Get Well Soon stamp by Docerela
brown ink

Other Challenges:

Hope you have a great Easter.

Get Better

A wonderful teacher at our school who just had emergency surgery, was then hospitalized for a week, and is now home recovering is on the minds of many of us at school. I created this card to let her know we are thinking of her and hope she "Gets Better" soon.
  • I used the Wild Card cartridge for the sentiment and layered flowers.
  • The paper is Making Memories neutral pack which I found at Marshalls on clearance for $3.00. The colors are very soothing (and my favorites).
  • Embellishments include: brown flower brads, brown satin ribbon, various buttons, and cream colored embroidery floss.
I am submitting this card into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #36: Achoo. The theme for this week is to create a project having something to do with being sick.

I sure hope our colleague recovers quickly and is able to return to school soon. We will all be thinking of her!

Take Care,
Georgiana   : )
