Something New Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back for another DoubleClick Skittles Challenge.

The Challenge...
Something New (or Baby)

Here is my Design Team project...
I used a gift (something new) I received at Christmas for my card. Aren't these flowers lovely! Can you guess what might be new? Look below to see if you were correct.

My daughter picked this embossing folder out all by herself...
Juli's Garden by Cuttlebug

I used my bowmaker to make a double white lace bow (3 Girl JAM). I attached a stamped tiny tag (My Craft Spot) with yellow and white twine.  Then I added yellow skittles in the centers of each of the flowers.
Other Materials:
white and yellow cardstock
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Hope you will join us at DoubleClick Skittles this week for our "Something New" challenge. The other design team members have done a wonderful job with this challenge, so be sure to check them out!

Distance Means Little, But Distrezz Makes the Difference

Welcome Back on this Marvelous Monday! Thank you for stopping by during the past couple of days. I realize the holiday season keeps us all busy, but I appreciate you sharing your time and leaving comments. I have had lots of opportunities to create and will continue into 2015!

One of my goals was to try some new styles while incorporating new techniques into my papercrafting. This one used a stamp as my focal point along with distressing. I truly like how it turned out! Time to search for more sentiments!

I used the following sketch from 4 Crafty Chicks.

First, I cut the 3" oval using the Plantin School Cricut cartridge.  I found the Stampabilities wooden stamp in my collection (love the font and saying). I used Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil brown for the sentiment and colored pencils for the flowers.

I have been practicing my triple bows (Thanks Lisa for your input!). I wanted them to be more free-flowing. Another goal accomplished!

Here is my new distressing tool. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby (clearance section), but it is available on-line. My hubby and daughter were quite impressed with the outcome.
Other Materials:
kraft and cream card stock
My Mind's Eye pattern paper ~ Madison Ave stack
pink pearls
brown flower

Other Challenges:
Make it a great week!

Artistic Birthday Wishes

Welcome back and "Thanks" for stopping by on this SUPER Sunday!

I have been busy making birthday cards because of all the family birthdays this month, and now I need to plan a few more for January...my MIL and another niece are approaching in the next two weeks.

I had this background paper cut and laying on my craft table when I decided that the colors would be great for splattered paint. I quickly searched my files and found a couple art files that were possibilities. After looking at this scattered birthday stamp again...the idea came together! I was extremely happy the blue ribbon coordinated perfectly.

only used the easel from the Art Party file. I cut the svg file on my Cameo after adjusting it to the size I needed.

This stamp is by Stampin' Up. Wish I could share what set it is from, but a friend gave it to me when she was cleaning her closet. Lucky me! I love the craziness of the letter arrangement. You probably could tell since I have used it a couple times already.
Other Materials:
blue, brown, silver, and white card stock
Ranger Archival Ink ~ Cobalt Blue

Just curious...do you belong to any papercraft clubs where you order from monthly catalogs? I have never joined, but the supplies at the local craft stores are getting slim to choose from. Which company do you recommend?

Time to get busy...lots to do today! Thanks again for stopping by.

A Distressed Birthday

Hello Everyone!
So glad you stopped by today. Thanks! I appreciate you taking time to see what I have been creating. Hoping to inspire you to get crafty!

We have another birthday celebration in our family today...my niece, Kasey, turns 18 today! My sister is having a surprise party, so another day of celebrations! Perhaps after all these "get-togethers", I can find some time to exercise because I surely have been enjoying all the food!

Happy Birthday Kasey!

It is always amazes me where you can find sentiments for stamps that you like. I really like this font and who would have thought it was part of a dog set. Not me!

All the edges were distressed using the Tim Holtz paper distresser tool. I bought a Zutter DIA not too long ago, but haven't used it YET! I am going to this weekend! After admiring ALL of Lisa's projects at A Mermaid's Crafts I can only hope mine look half as good as hers! Cream organza ribbon and black sequins were added to the background mat. Then I layered 3 blue flowers and centered a cream Bazzill resin flower. Perfect for the birthday girl!
Other Materials:
Blue and cream card stock
pattern papers from scrap box ( I STILL have way too much!)
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Enjoy your Saturday,
Georgiana

Thank You Mrs. Carson's Class!

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by today.
I sure hope you and your families had a Merry Christmas. We had a wonderful day (actually three days of celebrations with all the extended family).  Now it is time to get back to a regular routine, but not until special THANKS are sent out.

This is just a quick post to give a BIG shout out to my class, the BEST 2014 class!
They are absolutely amazing! Many of you know I try to go above and beyond to support my class in any way so they can excel. Not only do they try their best with their studies, but with showing gratitude too.

Here are some of the gifts I was overwhelmed with at our holiday party.

 Thank You Mrs. Carson's Class!
Here are some thank you cards that I have started. I have 10 completed, but need to make at least 5 more. I need to get busy and make the others tonight!

I used 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon to divide the pattern paper (most of the paper was from my Christmas scrap pile). Then I cut the 2 1/4" circle from the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge and the 1 1/2" present was cut from the Birthday Cakes Cricut cartridge. A My Craft Spot tiny tag stamped with thank you was tied with Martha Stewart baker's twine.

This morning I had to make a couple quick stops before going to the in-laws and found these few items at Michaels for 70% off. The MME pads were only $1.79. I thought that was a great deal. They are not even holiday paper pads.

Hope you have a FABULOUS weekend. Looking forward to seeing what you received for Christmas and what you create next!

Happy Friday,
Georgiana

Welcome back crafty friends!
I am thrilled that you have stopped by today.

I am very fortunate today to be joining Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy as a Guest Designer for this week's Linky Party.

This Week's Theme...
Anything Goes
This is the BEST theme because it can be anything you need to create for the week...Christmas, birthday, thank you, etc.

Here is my Linky Party project...
I created a holiday easel card for my sister. We are going to her house on Christmas Eve to celebrate. I think her girls are going to enjoy their gifts.

I altered this chalkboard easel card from birthday to Christmas. First, I embossed the frame with a wood grain folder. I then stamped the sentiment and added stars and a red bow.

Chalkboard easel card by Lori Whitlock
I found this file at the Silhouette On-line store.

A bit of smudging to make it look like an authentic chalkboard.
Other Materials:
kraft, brown, red, green, and white card stock
red/white twine
red gems
Recollections white ink

Linky Party rules:

Let's Celebrate Your Birthday with Cake

Today was my first day off for two weeks and it has been quite productive. I  planned on shopping early this morning before the crowds, and my hubby and daughter decided they wanted to go. We were able to get some last minute presents (all but mine) and then we found the new pieces for the kid's bathroom makeover...vanity, sink, mirror, faucet, and fixtures. They have been busy all afternoon removing the old pieces, and I did lesson plans for January.  That will mean more time to craft when I go back to school!

This month has been a busy month for birthdays too. My sister was the other day, my youngest niece is today (our cashier at Michaels is today also), and one of my other niece's birthday is next week. No birthday is complete without cake! I will need more cake for all these birthdays (good thing this one is calorie and fat-free)!

Happy 14th Birthday Mykenzee!

I used pink crinkle ribbon and micro Glue Dots (for bunching) along the side. Topped it with Blossom twine, a pink button, and a tiny tag from My Craft Spot.

Other Materials:
papers from scrap box
pink sequins
Ranger Archival Ink ~ Potting Soil
My Craft Spot stamp ~ Tiny Tags 3
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Treat Boxes for Jaded Blossom

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is a FABULOUS day! It is Friday, the last day before Winter Break, and I am Guest Designer at Jaded Blossom

I am SUPER excited to be a Guest Designer for Jaded Blossom. I love these stamps...they always put a smile on my face. Thank you Michelle and Candace for allowing me to be a part of this special month.

My Guest Designer Project...
A Santa and an elf treat box using the Jaded Blossom Christmas Poop stamp set. Of course, I used Hershey Kisses for the treat!

The boxes are from Silhouette on-line store.

A close-up of the funny, but slightly odd-humor stamp. My students will surely enjoy them. Since they are 10 years old, they will think these are "cool".

The bottoms of the Hershey Kisses are decorated with Christmas Candies stamp.
Other Materials:
Red sheer ribbon with stripes
black and white twine
red buttons
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Thanks again Candace and Michelle for allowing me to be a Guest Designer. I am looking forward to all the projects from the rest of the Guest Designers this month!

Santa Treat Sacks

Hello Crafty Friends,

Christmas is approaching quickly and I am hoping Santa has been checking his naughty and nice list (I should be on the nice list this year!). Here are a couple treat sacks for all the presents he needs to deliver. I don't have much on my "wish list". In fact, I need some suggestions what to ask for. My hubby keeps asking and I am not sure what to tell him. Please give me some (crafty) ideas!

Today's project...
A gift sack for presents or treats. I found this 3D bag at Silhouette On-line store. The original Santa bag was quite large, so I made a second one smaller. It was easy to resize with the Silhouette Design Studio program.

I stuffed mine with crimped paper (I use the Fiskars crimper) and Hershey Kisses.

The svg file is by Jamie Cripps.
It also comes with coal for those on your naughty list.
Other Materials:
red and green card stock
striped pattern paper from scrap box

Challenges:

Can't wait to hear what ideas you have for Christmas gifts!

No Peeking Little Penguin

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is starting off to be a FABULOUS day! Not only is it Friday and the week before Winter Break, but I am working on some 2015 crafty goals and hoping to accomplish most of them early in the new year. I am eager to learn new techniques, meet new crafty friends, and join a new Design Team or two.

Today's project...
A cute penguin that is peeking out from under his cozy hat.

The original file from Little Scraps of Heaven does not have an eye, but I thought altering that part was the cutest! I added a small round circle so he can peek at you.
Other Materials:
pattern papers are from scrap box (that needs to be a goal too ~ use it!)
black, white, and orange card stock
Whimsical Designs stamps ~ Snow Much Fun set
Versafine ink ~ Onyx Black
Glitz glitter glue
polka dot ribbon

Hope you have a great weekend,
Georgiana
