It's Your Day to Smile or Say Hooray

Hello,

We celebrated my daughter's birthday today. She will be 20 on Monday, but she came home for the weekend since we wouldn't be able to go to dinner or have Betty Cake on her actual day. Before going to Red Robin I started these cards and when we returned I finished them.

My thought was to combine the sketch and color challenge at My Favorite Things. Goal accomplished! I am pretty pleased that the colors and layout worked.

I started with the MFT gray cardstock and coral gingham from the Tiny Check stack, and then added the white and blue cardstock.

The colors for MFT Challenge 90.

I used the Happy Hippo stamp set along with Spectrum Noir markers.

Rather than adding the extra papers to the scrap pile, I just made a second one. I used the MFT Scribble Rose and Double the Smile die sets.

All the pieces were cut with my Cuttlebug. I have thought about getting a Big Kick/Big Shot, but with my machine cutting just fine I have decided to wait.

Other Challenges:

Excited that I was able to complete these two.

Using a CC Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Diva Tuesday!

Students head back to school today, which will be exciting since they will want to talk about their Spring Breaks. Can't wait to hear about all the trips and places they visited. Then it is time to get BUSY! Our state reading and math test (FCAT) is in two weeks!

Today is also a Die Cuttin' Diva Day.
This Week's Challenge...Use the Sketch
When I create these sketches I like to keep them simple, so they are versatile. I think adding a touch of your personal flair is more important.

Here is my Design Team project...
A friend asked me for a baby girl card and I jumped at the opportunity to use this A7 card base for the large Floral Oval by Spellbinders.
I could never get the large die cut to fit on my smaller sized cards.
The baby stroller was cut from Potpourri Basket. That was one of the first cartridges I bought almost three years ago. The pink roses are by Martha Stewart and they are self-adhesive.
Materials:
Paper Studio ~ striped paper
pink, green, ivory,  and brown card stock
Potpourri Basket Cricut cartridge ~ stroller (p. 34) cut at 2 1/4"
Wild Card Cricut cartridge ~ sentiment (p. 64) cut at 4 3/4"
Spellbinders ~ Floral Oval
pink pearls
pink roses

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our sketch challenge. Don't forget to visit the other design team members and see their projects using this sketch too.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Whimsical Designs on Wednesday. You will want to make sure you keep in shape and join us for the new challenge. I will be "Thinking of You" until then.

 Stay Creative,
Georgiana
