Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to give an update on what has been happening in the last three weeks and why I have not posted anything.
I was all "gung ho" at the beginning of summer and had plans to craft and post almost everyday...then my son was in a car accident just a couple days before our cruise. He wasn't hurt thank goodness, but the damage to his car, his lack of transportation, and the fact the lady lied about what happened (just look at the damage to figure out who was at fault, the fact that her insurance is the worst, and she has numerous traffic violations in the past couple of years) has taken a toll. It has been three weeks, damage has been assessed at $14,000 (the car was not totaled), and the car still isn't fixed yet. Since I am home for summer I have been given him a ride to work so he doesn't have to worry. We talked about renting a car, but that is another story. He has the insurance coverage, but there are fees and age restrictions. Hopefully the car will be finished within the next week!
Then we went on our Caribbean cruise which was wonderful. Great way to escape from daily responsibilities and enjoy summer vacation.
Above: A morning view of one of the Caribbean islands from the walking track.
Below: We are on our way to kayak, hike, and snorkel in St. Thomas.
Since returning, I have limited my time on the computer which has helped with decreasing my neck pain (yay) and I have been exercising daily. I walk every morning at the local park for an hour and I joined the Y to lose some weight/tone up before the new school year. I will have a new position (Content Area Specialist ~ Math/Science Coach) at a new school, so I am looking forward to all the new challenges/responsibilities. I am SUPER excited!
I am hoping everything will be settling down and I will get back into a routine. I need to look at my planner and get busy on design team commitments. It really is time to refocus and get recharged! I have one month before the new school year starts.
Take Care,
Georgiana
Sorry to hear about the accident and the drama that followed :( So glad you had fun on your trip! LOVING the photos!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! glad to hear your son is ok! Wondering why I haven’t seen any post from you in a while, but then remembered you were going on a cruise. I know the headaches with insurance companies. We are in the insurance business. We had the same problem with one of our sons years ago when they wouldn’t rent him a car because of age so I told them I will rent the car and let him drive mine while his was getting fixed.
ReplyDeleteWow! Crazy how life can just throw ya curve balls! Glad to hear your son is okay and that you had a good trip. It looks beautiful out there on the ocean! I'm also happy for your new job! Yay you!!! Get some rest and enjoy the rest of your summer break. School will be here before you know it!!!

On no, so sorry about your son's car and I'm glad he wasn't hurt. The insurance people will figure out the woman is lying as it's quite obvious by the photos. If he has the coverage for the rental car, it doesn't make sense not to rent one, but what do I know? Your cruise looks so beautiful - I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! Congrats on your new job and congrats on your healthy habits - I bet you feel great! Enjoy your summer!
