Make It Monday ~ Stenciled Watercolor Background

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are having a fabulous Saturday.

I started off with a 3.5 mile walk at the park with a friend this morning, came home and did a little yard work, went shopping and bought some paper and a stamp set, then found a new challenge site at PaperTrey Ink ~ Make It Monday

I decided to watch Betsy's video and give it a try.

I do not have many stencils to choose from, but after a of couple tries I decided to use the MFT Diagonal Bars. I remember seeing a color challenge at Color Throwdown, so I chose a few colors close to them. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks ~ Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, and Seedless Preserves. I used a piece of clear acetate and a water spritzer to create my watercolors.

I used my Cuttlebug to cut this Paper Smooches die twice.

The MFT Sunflower was cut a couple of times in two different shades of yellow card stock and then layered off-centered. The leaves were from another MFT set ~ Scribble Flowers.
After creating my card I went back to the PaperTrey Ink blog and read I had to use their products. I am bummed that I cannot "enter" the challenge, but I am glad that I tried this technique. I am looking forward to seeing what each Monday will bring now. Looks like I am going to have to get some new PTI products, so I can enter the upcoming challenges.

  3. Love love those pretty sunflowers. I have to dig up that container of my MFT and see if I've got that die set. I'm still re-doing my craft haven and lots of my containers still need to be un-packed. Awesome card!
