Watercolor Burst Technique

Happy Friday!
What a productive week...lots of items were crossed off my list of things to do. That is a wonderful feeling. Next week is relaxation time, then it will be back to the usual.

During the last week -in-a-half of video watching I came across how to do the watercolor burst technique...it's SUPER easy. If you haven't tried yet, you need to! See the video here by Scraps & Stamps.

First, stamp your sentiment with Versamark and heat emboss with your favorite powder. Then decide what colors you want to use. I was in a pinkish-purple mood. I used MFT Razzle Berry for the card base.

Apply clean water starting on left and work towards the right. Using a watercolor brush, add some paint and watch it spread. I added a few sequins to coordinate with the paint.

On this one I chose a different color palette...orange to yellow like a sunset.

Orange sequins to match the card base (MFT cardstock ~ Orange Fizz).
Other Materials:
Canson 140 lb watercolor paper
MFT stitched die
MFT stamp set ~ Written in Watercolor
Recollections Ebony embossing powder
Artist's Loft watercolor paint (going to get Gansai Tambi watercolors next)

Hope you will try this technique. PLEASE leave me a comment and let me know if you do along with the link so I can see it!

Have a great day and enjoy the weekend.
Stay Creative,
Georgiana

  7. Hi Georgiana! I'm so glad to see you've had time to watch videos and learn some new techniques and follow through and make them! Your Cards look Awesome lady! I also went back to look at ALL the projects I missed the last couple of weeks thanks to my computer crashing, AND THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC! You have been a busy gal! Now that I'm back up and running, I'll stop by more often again! :) Have a great weekend!

  8. These are so pretty! I love both the colour combinations. I haven't tried Gansai Tambi.

Your Canson looks so white. Mine always looks a bit off-white to me. I prefer the white!

  12. You make it sound so easy. I'm always leery of anything wet and possibly messy (in a disastrously messy way). I really like these and could even try it myself, especially since I just bought some peerless water color papers. That purple pink one is my favorite of what you have here.
