Cre8tivegirl's "FIRST" Blogoversary Hop

Welcome!
I am glad you are joining us today for this amazing hop. Yvette is celebrating her first blogoversary and we are all making "first" projects in her honor.

I have created a card today, but what makes my card perfect for this hop is:
  • It is my first Tri-Fold Shutter card. Yeah for trying a new fold! Although it looks complicated, it is super easy to cut the base. The most time consuming part was layering the papers and adhering.
  • This card is for a teacher who has been transferred from 2nd grade. It will be her first year in 5th grade and at an intermediate level. I have been teaching 5th graders for 11 years, so I know she will love it!
  • This was my first time using this paper stack ~ DCWV High School. I bought it on clearance for $1.99 and thought it would come in handle one day. I love the patterns and colors. Since my son is a Senior this year (for the first time), I will be using it even more!
Other Materials:
red, cream, black, and silver card stock
buttons (red, green, and blue)
gold ribbon
Plantin SchoolBook ~ 1" letters
Locker Talk cartridge ~
First Day of School (p. 32) cut at 2 3/4"
Books (p. 47) ~ cut at 1 3/4"
Pencil (p.37) ~ 1 1/4"

Have you ever bought some crafting goodies and didn't realize you had one at home. Please remember to leave your e-mail and blog address (if you have one). The winner will be announced Monday evening, Aug. 8th.
Be sure to visit Sherri now. She ALWAYS has amazing projects.
Challenges:
Be sure to come back tomorrow for another "first".

Oh yes, I've bought duplicates several times; one was an embossing folder that I couldn't remember I had, and I even bought a corner punch that I had and probably just bought a week or so earlier because it was on clearance! Wanted to comment, but no need to include me in your drawing--I have that folder!! HA HA!--Pat
