It is Baby Season Too!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Not only is it Christmas time, but it must be baby season. I just made a couple baby cards for a co-worker and here are a few more for another. December seems to be a busy month...my sister and two of her girls have birthdays this month. How many people do you know with December birthdays? Do you know anyone expecting?

Baby Cards...
Each card is personalized with a Tiny Tag from My Craft Spot.
I used Nana's Nursery paper by DCWV for this card. I do not have too many sheets left from the stack, but there was enough for this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The crinkle ribbon bow is my favorite and that Trendy Twine color (Watermelon Taffy) matches that polka dot paper perfectly. The 2 1/4" onesie was cut from Wrap it Up.
I like this sketch, but have the tendency not to make square cards because of mailing them. What size can you use for regular postage?
Here is the other card, which was fun to create because I wanted to use a stroller and I found this 2 1/4" cut with a baby girl on Simply Charmed. It fits inside the inked circle, which was cut at 3". Such a cute baby smile!
I used my bow maker for the double bows.
Other Materials:
K&Company paper
black and cream card stock
Lacey Circles Spellbinder
yellow pearls
pink gems
pink and yellow buttons
pink and yellow crinkle ribbon

Unfortunately, there are not any challenges for baby theme right now. If I missed one, please let me know!

This weekend I will be part of a festive hop, so come back for some Jolly Old St. Nick projects!

Happy Holidays,

Saturday was a Day for Turkeys

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was a fabulous day for making cards. After I took my daughter to get her haircut, I was able to work on turkey cards for a friend. She was concerned that I spent so much time making all these cards, but I told her it was well worth the time.

Let me share some information about each of these Thanksgiving cards.
This card did not use the Cricut. I used a Spellbinder for the Lacey Circle, but the other pieces are stickers. The turkey was wearing a bow, so I added matching ones next to the sentiment. The background is embossed with Tim Holtz woodgrain folder.
This was the first time this season I used the turkey cut from Simply Charmed. I do not typically pull out this cartridge because of all the smiley faces on the images, but the turkey is perfect for the holiday. The stamp is from Card Tv and the papers are My Mind's Eye.
Here are a few others in a group shot.
The turkeys were cut from either Create a Critter or Thanksgiving cartridges. A variety of papers and embellishments were used to create unique cards.
This is a sticker that I purchased either last year or the year before for 10 or 20 cents. It was one piece, but I cut the letters and adhered closer together to fit within the scalloped circle (cut from Elegant Edges). The papers are Cloud9 Design ~ Seasonal stack.
I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday to create this pair. I just alternated the papers and colors.

Challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown ~ Thankful for You (3rd and 4th picture)
Cut It Up! ~ Buttons (2nd and 3rd pictures)
Little Scrap Pieces ~ Use an Animal (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th pictures)
Bitten by the Bug 2 ~ Turkey (2nd, 3rd, and 5th pictures)

Hoping everyone (in the United States) has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Georgiana

Big Hugs for a Special Tree

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend. I took my daughter shopping earlier today, so she could spend her birthday money. She got two books, a dress, and a Betsey Johnson necklace. She found one with a hippo charm on sale at Dillards. Now she is saving to get the matching earrings. If you have never heard of Betsey Johnson, check out her crazy yet fun style.

Did you know Earth Day was in April (22nd)? How about Arbor Day (27th)? At the former school I taught at,  I had an Environmental Club. The students would recycle throughout the campus every Friday, we would do the telephone book collection, they learned about the importance of energy conservation, and we even earned a grant to start a native garden. The students absolutely enjoyed being a part of this club and learning how important it is to protect the environment.

In honor of these two special days in April, I have made a use-your-scraps card for any "tree hugger".

Here is my project...
Materials:
Simply Charmed catridge ~ tree (p. 55)
White, green, teal, and rust card stock from scrap box
Martha Stewart edge punch for flowers
teal gems
white ribbon
Encouraging Thoughts stamp set by Cardz TV

Challenges:

What do you plan to do for Earth Day?
Do you recycle? If so, what? If not, why not?

Can't wait to hear your responses!
