Beach Buckets for Summer

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by Carson's Creations. I have been busy finishing up the school year...this is our last week and the last three days are Early Dismissal days for the students. They have an AR World Series Day, an Eagle Expectation Water Day, and then finally our annual Picnic at the Park. We have a lively week planned!

I am already planning another trip to the beach (last weekend's trip was extremely refreshing and relaxing), so I can enjoy the sand between my toes and the sound of the waves. My daughter and I have tentatively planned next Sunday or Monday.

I made beach buckets for a few of my teammates to help celebrate summer. We LOVE summer vacation! I bought some mini chocolate pieces last night to add to each bucket.

I coordinated the bows, gems, and stamped sentiment.

Matching brads attached the handle so they are still movable.

Other Materials:
various pieces of pattern card stock
white card stock
More Mini Messages by Scrappy Moms stamp
various ribbons, gems, and inks

Challenges:

Hope you have a fabulous week!

3GJ Colors of Summer Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by! I am glad you are joining us today for the 3 Girl JAM Colors of Summer blog hop. The hop is going to feature the 5 new ribbon bundles (shown below).

There will be a $20.00 Gift Certificate to the store as a prize on the 3GJ blog. Just leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win!

You should have come from delightful and creative Dawn, but if you didn't you do not need to worry. You can go to Julie to start at the beginning  or use the line-up that  is included.

Here is my Design Team project...
I made two gift boxes. First, I embossed the clear, plain boxes (3" x 3" x 1") using my Cuttlebug. Then I added the crinkle ribbon and tied the bow. Adding tags and embellishments (a brad, denim flower, and gems) finished up the boxes.

I used Sunshine from the Sunny Meadow Bundle. Don't you love how vibrant and cheerful this yellow is? Sure does brighten your day! The stamped sentiment is from My Craft Spot (Down on the Farm set).

I used Denim Jeans from the Saturday Morning Bundle. The stamped sentiment is Scrappy Moms newest release...More Mini Messages.

Here are ALL five summer bundles! There will be a sale at the 3GJ store from May 23rd to May 25th. Use code: NEWHOP to save 30% off your entire order.

Not only will Julie be giving away a $20 gift certificate to the store, but I have a surprise for one lucky person who leaves a comment. The winner will be announced Wednesday.
Here is the line up:

Happy Graduation, Owl

Hello Everyone!

Happy Saturday! It is getting closer to the end of this school year and as summer approaches so does graduation. This year I know a few Seniors graduating...one is my niece (Congratulations to Kasey) and then my first class at my current school. I have been at Eighth Street Elem for 8 years and this group is finally graduating (I saw and spoke to one of my former students at Prom last month. I am so proud of this young man for getting through all the tough times and reaching this milestone...Congrats Corey.). I am looking forward to attending one of the ceremonies where many have attended high school.

In honor of all those Seniors...
A cute owl graduation belly box from My Scrap Chick.

These boxes are easy to assemble (I used my Silhouette Cameo) and fun to fill. I usually use Hershey Kisses, but I may look to see if there is something different for the occasion.

I also made a coordinating card from the same bundle. I like how the owl is on the edge of the card. I inked all the edges which sure does make that diploma "pop".

The pair from the Graduation Owl Trio.
Other Materials:
kraft, black, cream, orange, yellow, and blue card stock
polka dot pattern paper from scrap box
chevron pattern paper ~ DCWV Linen Closet stack
Ranger Archival ink ~ Potting Soil
orange ink

Have a fabulous weekend!

Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge ~ Teacher Gifts

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by on this marvelous Monday. I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day...mine was okay (we celebrated last weekend, which was awesome.). I now have a cold thanks to my students. I love to share, but this is not what I really expected when I told them that.

Miss Kate Cuttables has a new challenge starting today.
This Month's Theme...
End of Year Teacher Gifts
I created thank you cards for my students that gave me gifts last week for Teacher Appreciation. I really do have the BEST students! I received roses, an Edible Arrangement (chocolate covered fruit), soap, and cookie and candy goodies.

An up-close view of the books on shelf. The banner is also Miss Kate Cuttables, but I altered it slightly...I only used the one type of pennant.

I made half a dozen cards.
Other Materials:
red, blue, yellow, green, black, brown, and white card stock
red/white baker's twine ~ Martha Stewart
Plantin SchoolBook ~ font cut at 1/2"

Hope you will join our challenge at Miss Kate Cuttables Facebook Group.

Die Cuttin' Diva's May Sketch ~ Mother's Day

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back on this super Saturday! It is quiet at my house today...my kids went to the Players to see some of their favorite golf stars and my hubby went to the FHS girl's softball game since the team made it to the State Finals. The dog and I are loving this time!

I practiced some more with my watercolors this morning after watching a few videos. This time I used watercolor paint, but I want to try the watercolor pencils too. I learned to get better brushes because mine kept losing the bristles. Yes...you get what you pay for!

An up-close view of the watercolor background. The flower vase was cut from Kate's ABCs on my Cricut Expression at 3 3/4". The sentiment is computer generated.

Another heat embossed background then painted over with watercolors.

This was an individual stamp that I used to create the background. The flowers are not very evenly spaced since I couldn't see the clear embossing ink, but I know I will get better the more I practice! Summer vacation is in a few weeks and I will have plenty of time then! : )
Other Materials:
pink purple, yellow, and white card stock
purple gems
purple pearls
Versafine Onyx Black ink
Martha Stewart pink flower

Die Cuttin' Diva's Sketch for May created by me. If you ever need a sketch for a your challenges, please let me know. I enjoy creating a variety of sketches that others will use.

There is still time to join our challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva, so get crafty and share!

Watercolor Weekend

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today. What a fabulous weekend! First, I tried a new technique for me...Watercolor "Smooshing". Fun, yet a little messy! Then, I went shopping with my hubby and daughter  Boy, did I make out like a bandit! I found so many great deals that I spent my entire craft budget for this month. That's okay because I have so much in my stash I could go without buying for 6 months and probably still have enough supplies.

I decided I was going to start trying some new techniques and I sure am glad I did. I watched a video on PaperTrey Ink called Watercolor SmooshingI got a bit carried away and made a few different cards once I got the hang of using the inks.

First...
I created the background on Strathmore watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Faded Jeans). Hello was cut at 6" with my Cricut Expression ~ Wild Card cartridge. The Jenni Bowlin butterfly was mounted on a pop dot.

Second...
Another "smooshing" background using Tim Holtz Dusty Concord and Spun Sugar ink. I created the watercolor the same way, but the effect on the paper sure looks different. I added some eggplant colored flowers along the left side. The sentiment is by Hampton Arts. What do you think?

Third...
I actually used a different technique for this one. I heat embossed the background with VersaMark watermark ink and clear embossing powder (I used Clear Recollections.). Then I used watercolor paint from Artist's Loft (Michaels). I stamped a sentiment in black on a pennant along with some sequins scattered.
Hope you enjoy your upcoming week! I am going to be busy, but I have a few more ideas just waiting to be made. If you like what you see, please be sure to follow either thru Google Friend or Bloglovin. Carri, from Doubleclick, and I are working on a new craft series and I don't want you to miss out!

Georgiana
