School is Cool at Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello Everyone,

I am preparing this post ahead of time just in case the power goes out with Hurricane Irma. As of right now, my daughter, my dog, and I are doing well. It is raining and getting windy, but we are safe with electricity. Hopefully everything will continue to be good.

The new challenge at Miss Kate Cuttables starts tonight, and remember there is a free file every week! Hopefully you will be able to join us during the next two weeks with your own creation.

This Month's Challenge...
~ Back to School~

Here is my Design Team project...
I had another student send me a message on our hurricane day off that he was using the Achieve3000 computer program and he was Florida and Worldwide Leader.  I am so excited that I have students that care about their learning. Our school district issued a no homework policy for all elementary students this year, so any work the students do at home has to be optional or incomplete work they didn't finish in class. Makes me happy that some are going above and beyond! Those students will definitely make great gains.

The happy book file is by Miss Kate Cuttables. The stamped sentiment is by Pink by Design and the Lori Whitlock box was cut with my Cameo.
Hope you will join us at Miss Kate Cuttables for the "Back to School" challenge. The other design team members are ready to support students, teachers, paraprofessionals, and even the bus drivers this school year. Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Bushels of Apples

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am sitting in my craft room while the storm is beating down upon us, but I am staying busy while the power is still on. I was doing laundry and dishes earlier so nothing would be sitting around in case we don't have water later. The news just said millions of people in the south are without electricity and we still have many hours before it is close to north central Florida. I am not worried about flooding, just trees/branches falling since we have so many big and beautiful old trees. Our power lines are above ground in our neighborhood, so the risk is higher. I will keep you posted as long as I can! Stay safe my fellow Floridian crafty friends!

I decided to track down some current challenges and came up with a card perfect for the upcoming season. Fall is my favorite season not just because it's my birthday, but the weather cools off.

I used the following sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

The apple basket is from Too Cute by Jessica (she is going out of business, so her files are really cheap if you need any). The stamped sentiment is by Bug Bites. All the stitched dies are by My Favorite Things.

Other Challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and checking in on me! I appreciate all your thoughts during this time.
Take Care,
Georgiana

Way to Go!

Hello Crafty Friends,

As Hurricane Irma gets closer to the Florida penisula and our school district is closed for a long weeknd so the shelters can open, I am home hoping for the best. I have been watching the news every day this week and paying very close attention to the predicted paths since there is a good chance the storm could pass right over us as a Category 3 or 4. My husband has been scheduled to work at one of the shelters, so we can only hope nothing major happens.

Onto a more upbeat topic...it is my day to share at Miss Kate Cuttables

Here is my Design Team project...
My class started using a computer program by Achieve3000. I have a few students that are already excelling and earning LOTS of points. Yesterday one of my students earned "World Leader" and the day before that he was "Florida Leader", so I made him a surprise postcard.

I think this smiling tablet by Miss Kate Cuttables will be a perfect reward. It was SUPER easy to make, so I may create some more since I am going to be home for a few days.

The stamped sentiment is a combination of two clear acrylic stamps. The top one is Scripty Sayings by Lawn Fawn and the bottom one is by Scrappy Moms Stamps.
Be sure to stop by Miss Kate Cuttables for your freebie...one every week.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana
