Today I am sharing a project I made for my new AR Incentive chart. I finally decided to redecorate my class since I have used the same theme and colors for 5 years (I love moose and didn't want to change!), which means so much needs to be done in the next 2 - 3 weeks.
My new color theme is going to be black, white, yellow, and lime green with polka dots. Here is a piece of the BW set from Creative Teaching Press, but I am going to add a pop of yellow too. I need get all the materials (they have been ordered from my local teacher's store) and start hanging.
Monday Made It Project
First, I dyed my wooden clothespins black with Rit dye. I carefully combined the powder and boiling water in a plastic bowl. Then I soaked my clothespins for 15 - 20 minutes. Note...Allow them to dry for 24 hours.
Next, I covered the top of the clothespin with green polka dot decorative tape. Use Modge Podge to seal the tape (it adds a glossy finish too). I added a yellow bow to tie all the colors together.
Each clothespin will be personalized with a white 1" circle on top of the black scalloped circle (Spellbinders ~ Lacey Circles). I need to get a class list to be able to finish.
Mine is done!
The clothespins are going be added to the hanging points chart. I am still working on it, but here is a peek...
Each piece of paper is 8" x 8" and adhered to a polka dot ribbon. A large bow will be attached at the top for hanging.
This is my first time linking at Monday Made It at 4th Grade Frolics. It is quite exciting to see all the inspiration being shared among educators. I am looking forward to visiting others and getting more fabulous ideas.
Make it a marvelous Monday,
Georgiana
Very cute idea! Dying the cloths pins looks like it would be a messy nightmare, but they sure turned out well!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a point club on AR. My daughters school has a school wide point club for AR. She gets so excited when she gets to move up. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to read more post.
