Party in Mardi Gras Style

Is it party time yet?
If you're a Mardi Gras fan then you need to head on over to Die Cuttin Diva this week. Make sure you're ready for a good time! Bring your purple, green, and gold along with your beads. Maybe even a jester hat or a mask.

I am ready for a good time, so is my squirrel!
The squirrel was a freebie at Miss Kate Cuttables and the jester hat is from Designs on Cloud 9. Purple glitter and Glossy Accents adds a bit of sparkle and shine.
The stamp and die is from My Craft Spot and the purple ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.
Want to learn more?
My class is going to a Mardi Gras party on Fat Tuesday as part of our positive behavior program and I am looking forward to the fun.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week. Lots of Mardi Gras projects!

Bringing a Little Luck with Some Gold

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend...I have been busy like usual. Seems like there is never enough time to do everything, but I feel good about what I have accomplished so far.

A fellow teacher friend asked me to give her some ideas on how to improve the low morale at her school and I said to let them know you appreciate what they do each day. Teaching is a challenging job that is constantly being scrutinized. Demands are high and funding is low.

Hoping these bring a little happiness...
I remembered I bought this file, Chance and Charm, with a gift card that I won from SVGCuts. I was super excited because I just ordered my Cameo and it hadn't even arrived, but I was planning ahead for upcoming holidays. So glad I have it! : )
I made ten black pots and then decorated each one with various green and gold papers. Gold and green gems add a bit of sparkle to the bow and clovers. Scraps of green and gold cardstock were cut and crimped for a filler.
Now she can show them that they are all worth a pot of gold. Plus a few Rolos for an extra treat! Teachers LOVE chocolate too!
Challenges:

Here are the files that are included in Chance and Charm...
Looking forward to making that hot air balloon and pup card. Speaking of pup...my Molly had her stitches removed yesterday and she can resume normal activity. Yippee!

Hope you have a great day. I am off to see the new Michaels...they moved to a different location about two blocks away. Hope they have some new supplies.

Hello 3 Girl JAM Fans

Welcome and Happy Friday.
Today I am sharing how to use the Daffodil yellow ribbon from 3 Girl JAM...what a soft, pretty color that is ideal for Spring.

This particular card did not use a die-cutting machine nor the Cuttlebug, which is unlike me. I used the extra sheets in the paper pad that I typically skip. There were a few pages of alphabets/numbers, tags, frames, and quotes.
The yellow flower is a punch out, which I lightly inked in brown, layered on pop dots, and the sentiment (Hello) are the coordinating stickers. I then added yellow pearls in opposite corners. A dainty daffodil yellow bow (3 Girl JAM ribbon) was added.
Other Materials:
K&Company paper ~ Brenda Walton stack ~ Chocolate Neapolitan
yellow pearls
brown ink

Hope you will join us for February's challenge...

Meow! Love Your Pet

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hoping you have found some crafting time and are ready for a new challenge. This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are showing our love for our four legged friends who have become a part of our families.

This Week's Challenge...
Love Your Pet
I am a dog lover, but a good friend who got me hooked on crafting/blogging asked me to make her daughter's teacher a card. I couldn't refuse! The teacher LOVES cats.
I used Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge for the card base and the kitty is from Silhouette On-Line Store.
This tiny tag and stamp is from My Craft Spot.

Here is my pet...Molly.
She just had surgery last week to have a lipoma (fatty tumor ~ common in Labs) removed, but she seems to be doing well. She goes back in a couple days to get the stitches removed, so hopefully she will be back to herself soon. I know she will be glad when I stop sneaking her medications in her food! :)

Hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas for our Love Your Pet challenge.

Glitz Away with Glitter at Craftin' Desert Divas

Happy President's Day Fellow Americans,

And Happy Monday to the rest of the world. I am super excited not because I have an extra day off, but because Tara asked me to join her design team at Craftin' Desert Divas. Of course I said, "Yes!" I am feeling super lucky and I am looking forward to working with such a creative group.

Craft It Up & Link It Up...
Bring on the Glitter
What a fabulous way to start on the new team...with glitter!
I used the Robotz Cricut cartridge and cut this robot at 4". He sits on a card base that was cut from Campin' Critters (p. 66 ~ sign feature).  I layered the Recollection pattern paper (Monsters and Robots stack) and added a piece of grey Lovebug Creations ribbon.
Lots of copper and silver glitter glue was added. I even added a drop inside each of the sequins.
This card base is pictured sideways in the Cricut booklet, but I rotated it to a portrait position and the robot fits perfectly.
This is a Recollection stamp that I had in my collection.

Hope you will join us at Craftin' Desert Divas this month for the Bring on the Glitter Craft It Up. The sponsors are:
Too Cute By Jessica ~ $20 credit
The Robin's Nest ~ A packet from Regency Collection
Timeless Twine ~ $20 (Debbie Bugjuiced)

Be sure to stop by to check out the other Design Team projects and if you have a Facebook page there is currently a Top Secret Giveaway.

I "Moose" Love You and Other Valentines

Hello Crafty Friends (and Fellow Moose Lovers),

Many of you may remember that I love moose and have been collecting them for a few years. My bedroom has more moose items than I really need and my class even has a small collection. When I saw this cut I could not resist!
I purchased him from the Silhouette On-line Store. I add Glossy Accents and pink glitter glue to the hearts. The stamp is from Whimsical Designs and the jute ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM.

Here is another one with him. I personalized it with the grandchildren's names on each heart for a co-worker.

Since I missed posting a few Valentines before the holiday with having such a busy week, here they are...
Designs on Cloud 9 freebie
PPbN freebie
Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge
Treasure Box Designs freebie
Designs on Cloud 9 freebie

I had a busy week partially because of school/meetings, but I am also taking a photography class. I have only been twice and the first night was introductions. The second night we talked about White Balance and F-StopsI sure do understand how my students feel when I am explaining a lesson and they are clueless!  I felt like that when he was talking about aperture and ISOHoping to learn more in the next few weeks (since I have LOTS to learn) and I am optimistic that that my picture quality will improve! If not, I may need private lessons!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, especially if you have President's Day off. I am off, so I plan on crafting, shopping, getting school work completed, and explore with the Nikon camera.

A Valentine Treat for You

Happy Valentine's Day!

The other day I made some owl treat bags for a co-worker (to be posted this weekend in honor of the birthday girl) and my daughter thought they were adorable. She decided she wanted some for her friends for her Valentines; therefore, Wednesday evening we made a few for her friends and teachers. How many do you think a few might mean for a 15 year old? Me...I thought 5 or 6 or maybe even 7 or 8. NO! She said she had 19 friends and then 6 teachers. How could I refuse an opportunity to make a crafty treat for her!

We found this cute elephant (Holiday Cakes Cricut cartridge) that was only 2 layers, which made it quick and easy to assemble.
I used Elegant Edges (book feature) for the topper and a sweet stamp.
The teacher bags were quicker since I used a rectangle base, but the heart was still two layers.

She started to give them to her friends and teachers today since she is on a block schedule, so I hope the rest enjoy theirs tomorrow.

We are having a class Valentine party in the afternoon, so that should be a fun way to begin the weekend. It is a 3 day  weekend since we are off Monday for President's Day. Yippee!

Buzz! Buzz! Love is in the Air

Welcome Back Crafty Friends,

I am glad you decided to stop by again. I have been busy as a bee buzzing around my crafty area! Love is definitely in the air!

Here is another Valentine's Day card...
(Thinking of you Carri!)
This bee was a freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables (it is now 35 cents). The base of my card was cut from Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge. There are quite a few different shapes (sign feature) that I have been using to avoid the typical rectangular base.
This Scrappy Moms stamp is part of the With All My Heart set.
The pink polka dot paper was inked then embossed with a Tim Holtz honeycomb folder. Lastly, small red die cut hearts were scattered in a few of the spaces.

Other Materials:
yellow, pink, black, grey, and white card stock
black and pink ink

Challenges:

Hoping to make a few Valentine treat bags for my class party on Friday. I have seen LOTS of fun ones that my students would love.
