A Thank You Donut

Happy Thursday!

Today is going to be a busy day. I am getting ready for a Carson's Creations First Extravaganza card party this Saturday. I figured people like to have Pampered Chef parties, Scentsy parties, and Thirty-One parties...so why not try a card party. I am going to display my cards, have some yummy treats (my daughter is making cupcakes and brownie pops), and do a few giveaways. Should be a great day to get together with some friends!

Before getting busy, I'd like to share this donut. I have seen a few different ones and since I LOVE donuts (Boston Cream is my favorite and strawberry frosted is actually both of my kids favorite) I couldn't resist.

I found the donut at the Silhouette On-line store. I added a pink glitter glue and kept all the sprinkles white. The background is chalkboard paper by My Mind's Eye.

A pink organza bow and some pink skittles surround the computer generated sentiment.
Hope you will stop by Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party this week for our Sweet Treats theme. You can choose ice cream, cookies, cake, fruit...anything that you like!

Hope you have a fabulous day. I am going to get prepared for Saturday. Wish me luck!

The Great Outdoors...Let's Go Camping!

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by on this terrific Tuesday. Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Hope you will join us this week!

This Week's Challenge...
The Great Outdoors
In honor of National S'mores Day on August 10th

Here is my Design Team project...
We had a camper similar to this when I was younger and we would travel along the east coast. I remember going to the Smoky Mountains National Park once and a bat being on the outside near the door handle. My Mom freaked out! We all thought it was a bear the way she was screaming, but no...it was only a bat! A memory I will never forget!

A pair of twin bows to hold the curtains open. Time to enjoy the view and the fresh air!

Found this stamp in my stash. Hubby made fun of it, so I told him that I needed the Jaded Blossom Great Outdoors set. All of a sudden he loved this stamped sentiment. : )
Other Materials:
DCWV paper ~ The Green Stack
brown and grey card stock
Ranger Archival ink ~ potting soil
brown pearl

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "The Great Outdoorschallenge. The other design team members want to enjoy the outdoors too. Be sure to check them out today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Super Sunday Sketch Day

Hello Everyone!

Hope you have been enjoying your weekend. We went school shopping yesterday to try and finish everything up. Although it stormed most of the day, we found some great deals. My daughter has been looking for a pair of Jack Rogers sandals and we finally hit the jack pot. They are regularly $128 (I know crazy! I would NEVER pay that much!), but we found a pair at Saks Ave Off 5th on clearance for $29.99. How awesome, huh? Then we were able to order the other colors on-line for the same price and free shipping.  My daughter is super happy now (She will have four pairs for the price of one) and she is ready for school to start!

Since I still have another two weeks before officially going back I plan on working on a few sketches today. I currently have five more on my desktop that I hope to do throughout the day...that is why it is going to be a Super Sunday Sketch Day.

Here is the first of many...

The first sketch is from Jo's Scrap Shack. I love the simplicity and versatility.

I just noticed the sentiment (a Bo Bunny stamp) is not in the correct location, so I may have to redo another one later today! That's okay! It's Super Sunday Sketch Day! : )

I love these colors from Teresa Collin's Tell Your Story stack. The flower is from Michaels.

Hope you have a FABULOUS Sunday!

Believe in Magic Skittles Release & Challenge at DoubleClick

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's time for the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge and a new Skittles release...Believe in Magic is now available.

This Week's Challenge...
Disney or a Mouse
Since I live in central Florida (about 70 minutes from Orlando), Disney is part of our life. We have had annual passes and visited all the parks numerous times (we even went to EuroDisney on our trip to Paris last summer), my daughter had princess parties with dresses growing up, and we have plenty of Disney movies in our collection.

Here is my Design Team project...
Miss Kate Cuttables had some Disney files not too long ago and this one is a fabulous quote. I used the same colors as the new Skittles.

The glittery yellow skittles are from the new Believe in Magic bundle.

Don't these colors remind you of Mickey Mouse!

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the "Disney or a mouse" challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. Be sure to check out the other Design Team members and see how they used the new Believe in Magic skittles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by on this terrific Tuesday. Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Hope you will join us this week!

This Week's Challenge...
Christmas in July
I have a difficult time thinking about Christmas in July since it is 95 degrees everyday. I can think about my wishlist of the goodies I want though!

Here is my Design Team project...
Rather than the classic red and green colors, I wanted to use an antique color palette.

The word "JOY" is from My Scrap Chick...probably a past freebie. A cream colored bow to the side and a few deep red pearls.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Christmas In Julychallenge. The other design team members are definitely ready for the holiday season with their festive projects. Be sure to check them out today!

Fun with Stencils and Distress Inks

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday!
I need to take the dog to the vet this morning then do a little school shopping with my daughter, and after that I have a few projects I hope to work on. I know it is going to be a busy but great day!

Today I  would like to share a project that Karen from Little Scrap Pieces and I have been chatting about. Not too long ago she started posting cards made with distress inks and then she added stencils. I was amazed how awesome they looked since I am a BIG user of die-cuts. She added a pictorial (Be sure to check it out if you haven't seen it.) on how and I told her I just had to try. She challenged me to do it and then we would share our post.

Here are my results...

First, I started with this striped Tim Holtz stencil. It is super long (and narrow) so I had to cut some of my colors off, but lesson learned! Stay in the center or get shorter stencils.

Then, I cut a scalloped background and thank you in black with my Cameo (I just can't get away from the die-cuts, huh?). I  added a few enamel dots to add a splash more black.

After trying the long stencil, I decided to get a square one like Karen.

I must say that I did not like this one as much. I felt the leaves and flowers were too close to get the inks in their own spot. Either I need to practice more or learn to mask off sections to avoid colors blending.

I created this one first, but thought the white background might be too bright. Once I put it on the pink background and added the sentiment (Craftin Desert Diva stamp) I actually liked the white area.

For the second card, I used a mustard seed yellow to create the background then placed the stencil on top.

I am glad Karen challenged me to try stencils with distress inks. Now I  want to find a couple different types of designs (polka dots, swirls, chevron) and practice, so I can get the colors in their areas and be happy with the results.

Other Materials:
Strathmore Watercolor paper
pink and orange card stock
pink enamel dots
orange gems

Tim Holtz Distress inks:
mowed lawn
crushed olive
mustard seed
salty ocean
tumbled glass
fired brick
ripe persimmon
spiced marmalade
dusty concord
picked raspberry

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Lots of Red at Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party

Happy Friday!

Today is going to be a great day for my daughter...we are taking college tour #2. We are spending the morning on the University of Florida (UF) campus and may get to see the Animal Science program afterwards if the contact person is available. For YEARS my daughter has wanted to be a vet, but now she is thinking there could be other possibilities such as oncology, neurosurgeon, or plastic surgery. What ever she chooses I will be happy and quite pleased with her hard work and dedication. : )

Today is also a new Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party.
This Week's Challenge...
Lots of Red
Since school will be starting in about 3 weeks, my mind is in teacher mode again.

I used the following sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch

I used my Cameo to cut the apple and the circle stitched die is from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is by Craftin Desert Diva ~ School Zone set.
Other Materials:
pattern papers ~ Paper Studio
white, green, and kraft card stock
VersaMagic ink ~ Gingerbread
Martha Stewart baker's twine
Rudolph red skittles by Carri

Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party this week for our "Lots of Redchallenge. The other design team members have a variety of projects, so be sure to check them out today!

Love for Your New Home

Hello Everyone,

Hard to believe that is Thursday already and I only have  3 1/2 weeks left before heading back to school. Where did the time go!?!?! I still have a list I am working on that I am determined to accomplish. Then I have a school list I also want to work on. 3 1/2 weeks is just NOT enough time!

I had a fellow teacher asked me to make a "New Home" card for her nephew and his wife. I wanted to incorporate their new house (either color, name, or address), which is why this one is tan with white trim.

I was going to use a Congrats for the sentiment, but found this one instead. I really like the circle sentiment! The heart in the middle adds a touch of love.

Computer generated note on the inside
Other Materials:
blue, tan, brown, and white card stock
pattern paper
Latte skittles by Carri
MFT Blueprints 11 and 18
Jaded Blossom Card Mat Dies
My Craft Spot ~ Tiny Doilies Dies
My Craft Spot ~ Stampin' Around Spring stamp set
Ranger Archival ink ~ Cobalt

Hope you have a fabulous day! I am going to get busy on those lists!

From the Ocean Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It's time for the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge...Week 2.

This Week's Challenge...
From the Ocean
I have seen mermaids, starfish, a sea horse, and an otter. Such a variety of projects already submitted! Can't wait to see more!

Here is my Design Team project...
I decided to change the shape of the base (Campin' Critter Cricut cartridge p. 66) and use distress inks to create the background. The polka dot jellyfish was cut from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge (p. 41). I really like the embossed waves, BUT those little fish are terrible. I thought I would like them with Stickles, but I don't. I am going to replace them!

I used Denim Blue Skittles and the stamped sentiment is from K Andrews.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the "From the Ocean" challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. Be sure to check out the other Design Team members and see how they used the skittles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Who Wants Ice Cream?

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by on this terrific Tuesday. Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Hope you will join us this week!

This Week's Challenge...
Ice Cream

Here is my Design Team project...
A large chocolate milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I know...it isn't ice cream, BUTmilkshake is made with ice cream!

This is a Miss Kate Cuttables file. It is called an ice cream sundae, but I thought with two straws you would drink it. No matter what it is...it is scrumptious!

When I think about ice cream of any sort...I get a BIG smile on my face. It brings me "pure happiness" just thinking about the cool, refreshing taste. The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom and the smile die cut is part of MFT Blueprint #11. The red ribbon is 3 Girl JAM.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Ice Creamchallenge. The other design team members have definitely put a smile on my face with all their yummy projects...I love ice cream! Be sure to check them out today!
