On Your Special Day

Hello again,

I made another card this evening with some new paper I bought at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. Since I have been extremely busy with school lately, I haven't been craft shopping too much. I feel like I am missing out on newly released items. I did enjoy looking around, but I didn't find too many good deals. Maybe next time. If you have seen an "I have to have that!" product or any great deals, PLEASE share!

I sure do like this sketch from Twisted Sketches. The problem is I forgot the "twist"...black. Oooops! I will definitely make another card and enter the next one into their challenge.

Materials:
My Mind's Eye ~ Lost & Found Madison Avenue
Plantin Schoolbook cartridge ~ scalloped edges and flowers
EK Success edge punch ~mini scallops
cream ribbon
cream gems
My Pink Stamper sentiment
Inkadinkado ink pad ~ Rainbow Harvest

Good Afternoon,
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I just created this card (better late than never) for our Halloween Color challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I hope you will take the opportunity to stop by to see the design team's amazing projects or even share a project you have made.

For this week's challenge let's try using these colors...
orange, black, purple, and green.

I used The Sweet Stop sketch.

Plantin Schoolbook cartridge ~ circle 3" with shadow
black craft thread for web

Reptiles Are Coming

Good Afternoon,

I hope you are all well today. I didn't have time to post my card this morning before leaving for school; therefore, I am getting it done now. I sure hope you had the opportunity to stop by Die Cuttin' Divas today to see the new weekly challenge...Reptiles!

I love how this turtle card came out. The shell is attached with foam dots to add dimension. There is a shadow so he does not blend with the background.
 Materials:
Animal Kingdom cartridge ~ turtle cut at 2 1/4"
Wild Card cartridge ~ marsh  cut at 4 1/2" in cream and grunge green
Time Holtz paper ~ Retro Grunge
brown crinkled ribbon
brown gems
wiggly eyes

Other images on the cartridge...

Here are some other reptiles to help you with the challenge this week.

I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas.

One Spooky Halloween

Almost 15 days until Halloween and then the ghost, goblins, and ghouls will be out scaring everyone in the streets...okay maybe not, but the trick or treaters will be out spooking the neighbors.

I set aside a little crafting time this evening after searching for some current challenges. At this time, there are quite a few Halloween challenges.

Materials:
scrap papers from fellow DT member
orange cardstock ~ leaves
Heritage cartridge ~ tree and leaves
Plantin Schoolbook ~ "Spooky" cut at 1/2"
orange and black ribbon
black bat sticker
foam strips to add dimension to tree

Challenges:

What are your Halloween plans? Do you have a party? Do your kids go trick or treating? Hope you will share.

Congratulations "M"

National Dessert Day is Approaching

Good Morning,

I hope you are having a fantastic day. Well, just thinking about today's project puts me in "sweet" mood. Our challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva was to create a dessert in honor of National Dessert Day which is later this week (Oct. 14th). I wanted to actually create a buffet since I love all tyes of sweet treats.

Instead, I created a special treat that only comes around this time of year.

Candy apples always seem to be a favorite.

I used the October 31st cartridge to cut the candy apple at 3 3/4".
The brads are from Eyelet Outlet and Brads.

Challenges:

I hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Diva and share your favorite dessert.

Beware of "The Owl"

Thanks for stopping by today. My daughter and I went to the store this morning searching for some good deals, but didn't find too many. We are going to try another part of town this evening (since the boys are camping). I did get some textured card stock at Joanns for $1.88 a pack and a new sanding block. I had to give it a try and check out what I made.

I embossed this black core paper I have had and then used my new sanding block to create this spooky effect. Looking forward to using it for some other projects.
Materials:
K&Company ~ KP Halloween Pad
Recollections Colored Core Paper Pad
Hoot 'n Holler cartridge ~ owl cut at 4"
October 31st cartridge ~ BEWARE, moon, and bats cut at 1/2"
graveyard embossing folder (see below)
sanding cube
purple gems
black and orange ribbon

Happy October!

I realize it has been October for a week now, but I haven't had the opportunity to work on any projects for the holidays this month. I was determined to enter a challenge pertaining to either the colors or theme.

Although it is late, I am thrilled I was able to create this card.
Materials:
K&Company papers ~ Halloween stack
Heritage cartridge ~ tree cut at 4"
Happily Ever After ~ pumpkin cut at 1 1/4"
Hannah Montana ~ Boo cut at 3/4"
fibers
green gems
Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut ~ pumpkin
Tuesday Throwdown ~ Halloween
More Thank Favors (Wacky Wednesday) ~ color challenge

Fibers from DCD Design Team member.
Thanks Mistyrose for the Halloween goodies. I think I made these fibers work.

Until tomorrow...I already have a challenge or two ready to go. Looking forward to the crafting time.

Curious George

Good Morning,

I hope everyone is having a great day. I am up early before the family, which gives me some quiet computer time. : ) I wanted to share this card I made for a co-worker. She asked for a birthday card for a 3 year old that loves Dora the Explorer and Curious George.

First, I thought about a backback (that song just sticks in your head), but I decided on Curious George (and the man in the yellow hat) because he in so much fun.
Materials:
Create-a- Critter ~ monkey cut at 3 1/2"
Everyday Paper Dolls ~ farmer hat cut at 3"
Celebrations ~ present
Hannah Montana ~ personalized name cut at 1/2"
embossed rainbow cardstock
speckled paper from Birthday Wishes paper pad
black, brown, yellow, and cream cardstock
yellow ribbon
wiggly eyes

My husband's 40th birthday was the other day ~ we are only 10 days apart and he loves to make jokes during that time. I knew he did not want a "cutesy" card, so...I turned to the 40's quote site.

The boys are camping this weekend, so my goal is to make cards, do some blog hops if there are any, and visit as many crafty friends I can. I will be by soon!

Enjoy your day,
Georgiana

Die Cuttin' Diva's Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

It is hard to believe that it is already October. Where does the time go? I always have these great plans, but it never seems like there is enough time in the day to do them all. Be sure to enjoy every day.

Here is the newest sketch for Die Cuttin' Divas weekly challenge

I love this layout!

I used my new Florals Embellished cartridge. Beware...there are LOTS of layers.
I was a bit worried when I started to cut the pieces that the colors wouldn't look right together, but once I added the silver gems I was pleased with the final product. I am going to give this card along with a gift certificate to a fellow teacher who allowed me to bum a ride with her while my car was in the shop during the past two weeks... Thank you Cindy!

I hope that you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas. The Design Team created wonderful projects too, so please take a peek. We even have a new Design Team member. Yeah!

Georgiana

It's World Card Making Day?

Hello Everyone,

Gee, I missed that it was World Card Making Day with all the car troubles I have had this last week. It's a crazy and embarrassing story, but I am glad the worse is over! At least I hope it is. Let's just say a horn beeping excessively when the keys aren't even in the ignition is not a pleasant experience.

I am glad that I actually did make some cards earlier today. First, I worked on my design team card for Tuesday's new sketch challenge. You will not want to miss this one. Be sure to visit Die Cuttin' Diva on Tuesday. The second card I made was a quick birthday card for my son's friend. He asked me at the last minute (typical, right?). I used the Basketball cartridge for the cuts and the Hannah Montana cartridge for the numbers.
I know that his friend plays basketball and the school colors are purple and gold. I didn't want to add ribbon, gems, or buttons since it was for a young man and I didn't have enough time to fill in the "empty" space or change the dunk to another color (black). My son put a gift card inside, so I think that is all that will matter in the end.  Teens definitely need gas money now-a-days.

I made this baby card Wednesday night. The person I made the card for always ask for personalized cards.

I still need to make a "kiddie" birthday card. I have all the papers and cartridges ready to go. No more rushing!

Hope you have a great night,
Georgiana
