A Happy Birthday Wish

Hello Crafty Friends,

Happy Monday!
I have a jury summons so today should either be quite boring or interesting depending upon the case. I always wanted to be a lawyer and then a judge as I was growing up; therefore, I find the process appealing. I will let you know how it goes!

Today also is Craftin' Desert Diva Day!
A new linky party begins and there are new sponsors with fabulous prizes.

The party theme is...Birthdays
You can make a card, a layout, treat bags, a 3D project, or even a banner...just have fun and be creative!
I am using a Unity Stamp who just happens to be one of the sponsors this month.
This scrumptious chocolate cake is from Miss Kate Cuttables. It was a freebie, but is now 50 cents. Lots of layers, so you can choose any flavor you want. What is your favorite type of cake?
Other Materials:
various shades of brown and orange cardstock
My Mind's Eye pattern paper
pale yellow skittles by Carri
brown ink

Hope you will join us at Craftin' Desert Diva for this month's Linky Party!

Georgiana

A Cherry on Top Birthday

Only two days...that is until Winter Break begins. No plans to travel anywhere, but that is actually good. That means more time to be crafty! I am beginning to make a list of different techniques/projects that I have said I wanted to make, but never have...twisted easel card, paper piecing...what else should I add?  The sewing machine needs to be pulled out too since I have only used it a couple times!

Happy Birthday
This card is for someone who shares their birthday with Christmas Day. I have a student in my class that has a birthday on the sane day. Who knew the 15th was so popular.
I used "Just Because" Cards to cut this cake (p. 45) at 6". I scattered pink pearls on the frosting and glitterized the cherry.
I used the Hey Cupcake! stamp set from Jaded Blossom. This is one of the many sets I purchased during the Black Friday sale. Some of you may remember, but for those that missed the news...It was my 20th Anniversary that weekend, so my hubby told me to get a few...I ended up picking 9 sets! There are still a few more on my Wish List, but I will have to wait until I sell a few more cards or Valentine's Day.
Other Materials:
My Mind's Eye paper ~ Merry Little Christmas stack
pink and white card stock
pink and green pearls
pink glitter
brown and pink ink
pink crinkle ribbon

My Christmas present is supposed to arrive Friday (or Monday if USPS is delayed with the weather). I am excited my new Cameo will be here soon, but I still have to wait until Christmas to open it. That is okay! It sure is something to look forward to!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Challenge

Good Evening Everyone,

Today was a lovely Sunday. We took my sister and one of her daughters to lunch at the Olive Garden. One of my favorite restaurants. After dropping them off we went to the movies to see Captain America (She didn't want to go with her knee pain.). I made a quick stop at Michaels and picked up two paper stacks since they were on clearance for $2.49 & $2.99. Yeah! Don't forget the 20% off coupon this week you can print from their website. Double yeah!

I also worked on a card today for my husband's nephew. His 21st birthday is this week, so I made him a "manly" card. Now we are trying to decide when are you too old to get gifts. We have 7 nieces and nephews between the two of us and we want to set an age to sending them gifts. We previously discussed 18, but increased the age to 21 since he is still living at home. Any suggestions? Do you set age limits for anyone?

Materials:
paper scraps ~ striped vellum, brown cardstock, and Cowboy Solo
"Just Because" Cards  cartridge ~ cake ~ 4 3/4"
Birthday Bash cartridge ~ sentiment ~ 4"
Cuttlebug embossing folder ~ Distressed Stripes
orange gems

The Levy's Birthday Cards

Here are the birthday cards I created for the Levy's birthday party.

The cake is cut from the Celebrations cartridge (cake1 or p. 98). The candles (p. 97) are a border feature.

This card was created for the birthday boy. The seahorses were cut from Doodlecharms (p. 100). Sticker bubbles were added.
