Good Evening Crafty Friends,
Hubby and I went out for the day and when we got home we had a terrible thunderstorm causing us to lose power for a couple hours. I had intentions on getting this card done earlier, but mother nature had other plans. I am just pleased the power came back on and I was able to finish it before it got too late.
I was asked to make an annniversary card, so I had to decide which colors, layout, die-cut, sentiment, etc. I knew silver would be elegant for the occasion, which made the next step even more imporatant...getting the right layout.
I found the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches to fit the design I had in mind.
First, I cut the silver cardstock with the MFT Blueprints 15 stitched rectangle die and then I ran it through the Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Next, I cut the white and dotted vellum for the strip. I used VersaMark ink and Ebony embossing powder for the JustRite "Happy Anniversary" sentiment. BE CAREFUL when heating the powder on vellum. The first time I heated it a bit too long and it melted. Yuck! When I adhered the vellum to the white cardstock I was careful to only add my liquid glue just behind the dots and letters. Now you can't see any residue from the adhesive.
Lastly, the lacey square is by Spellbinders (it is on sale for $6.99) and the silver bell was cut on my Cameo. I added pearl gems from my stash just as the sketch had them laid out.
Other Challenges:
Looking forward to a peaceful tomorrow. Hubby and daughter might go the movies. I may go to Michaels or Joann to use a 60% off coupon. I am hoping to get a few more challenges combined.
Take Care,
Georgiana
