A True Outdoorsman Birthday at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is the day that I have been waiting for weeks and weeks. It is Scrapbook Expo Day in Orlando. I have plans to shop, take an acrylic card class, and volunteer.  It will be the first formal class that I take, so I am hoping to learn something new.

Today is also my Exploring Cricut Day.
I had a co-worker ask me to make a couple birthday cards for two of her boys who are true outdoorsmen. She said they like fishing, hunting, camping, and Duck Dynasty. Now, I am no outdoors person...I like my running water, hot showers, comfy bed, electricity, etc.

Guys on the other had...they can go weeks! My hubby and son went on a camping/hiking trip with Boy Scouts a few years ago and were out 10 days on the trails...Definitely not for me. I will stick to making cards (even layouts if they take pictures) for them!

In honor of Duck Dynasty...
For the fishing guru...
Materials:
kraft paper
other papers from scrap box
Nate's ABCs ~ duck (p. 43) cut at 2 1/2"
Campin' Critters ~ deer (p. 24) cut at 4" and sign cut at 1 1/4"
brown square embellishments
brown ink
wiggly eye
computer generated sentiment (first card)

So...are you an outdoors type of person?

Stay creative and enjoy your weekend,
Georgiana

Happy Easter at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

Happy Monday!
Are you ready to begin the week with a new challenge? If you said "yes", then head over to Exploring Cricut. The theme is perfect...Easter! When I think of Easter...bunnies, chicks, and decorated eggs come to mind. How about you? When my kids were younger we would hid plastic eggs filled with money and/or candy throughout the house, and the Easter Bunny would always leave a fabulous basket filled with goodies.

Here is my Exploring Cricut card...
Loving the pastel colors of Spring and Easter.
I used the layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches.
The edges of the pink paper are distressed. I used the Tim Holtz tool.
Here are Carri's skittles! Be sure to check out all the new colors. She even has pastels! They are one of my favorites.
This stamp is from Docerela's Creations.
Materials:
K&Company paper
brown, yellow, and green cardstock
Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge ~ scalloped square (p.48)
Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge~ rabbit (p. 34) cut at 2 1/4"
diamond embossing folder
wiggly eye
peeled paint ink by Tim Holtz
pink skittles from Carri at Abusybee

 Other Challenges:

Hoping you will join us this week at Exploring Cricut and share your Easter project. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Die Cuttin' Diva challenge and again on Wednesday for Whimsical Designs.

Whimsical Wednesday ~ Textiles and Hop Winner

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is a Whimsical Designs on Wednesday!
First, I would like to say "Thank You" to everyone that stopped by for the "Love" Hop during this past weekend. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and leave comments. I hope you enjoyed all the projects the team shared. The winner will be announced below.

This Week's challenge...Use Textiles
I used cream colored lace beneath my train edge punch. It is a self-adhesive roll that I found at Michaels on clearance and it is the easiest to use. There are lots of great colors in different patterns too.
Personalized for a special birthday boy.
I bought this train edge punch quite some time ago and never really knew how I wanted to incorporate it into a projet until this card.
Materials:
Nates's ABCs ~ Train (p. 32) cut at 2" and font cut at 1/2"
My Mind's Eye paper
cream lace
train edge punch by EK Success
skittles by Abusybee

This week's sponsor...
$20 gift certificate from Freckled Fawn

"Love" Blog Hop Winner is...
~ Sheena ~
Cute little valentine's :)
Hugs, Sheena
Congratulations!
Please e-mail (coachfans at cox dot net) me with your mailing address, so I can forward your Valentine goodies.

Just Monkey-ing Around at Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Diva Tuesday!

Today brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and what better way to celebrate than with a new project.

Our challenge this week is...
Anything Goes
Don't you love these weeks when you can create whatever you like?!?!

Here is my Design Team project...
I wanted the sentiment over the monkey's head, so it looked like he was throwing it up in the air. The edges of the Spellbinder and the grass were inked in brown.
I added the butterflies to make it more whimsical.
Materials:
My Mind's Eye paper ~ Lime Twist
brown, green, and cream card stock
Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge ~ monkey ( p. 57)
Kate's ABCs Cricut cartridge ~ butterflies (p. 55)
blue crinkle ribbon ~ Karen's at Little Scrap Pieces
brown button ~ Martha Stewart
cream embroidery floss
My Pink Stamper stamp ~ That's Punny-licious
brown ink
Spellbinders ~ Beaded Ovals
wiggly eyes
scalloped edge punch ~ EK success

Looking forward to seeing all those projects you create this week.

Chugga Chugga...Choo Choo

Good Afternoon,

This morning I shared a layout for Exploring Cricut, and last night I shared a cute elephant card for Little Scrap Pieces. Now I have a card for numerous challenges.   I am thrilled since I haven't had the opportunity to enter too many recently.

This card would be perfect for any little man. I don't think I know any boys that do not like trains.
I used the card layout from the "case it" challenge at Allsorts.

Materials:
My Mind'S Eye paper ~ Lime Twist pad
grey and white card stock
Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge ~ train (p. 23) cut at 1 1/2"
Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge ~ sentiment (p. 68) cut at 2 1/4"
star buttons
brown ink

Challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Trunk Full of Happiness at Little Scrap Pieces

Hello Crafty Friends,

Karen from Little Scrap Pieces is a dear blogging friend and she asked for some guest designers, so I jumped at the opportunity to share. THANK YOU Karen for having me as a guest again!

Originally, I was going to use one of those bizarre holidays in July...have you seen the site? In July there was a lollipop day, cowboy day, moon day, Beatrix Potter day, and an ice cream day. I had plans to research all the days and create something unique. Then I got sick last week (that is why I haven't visited regularly) and couldn't do very much.

Within the last day or two, I have finally started feeling better and all these ideas are flowing again. Yeah! I decided to skip all those "holidays" and use Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge. I flipped thru the booklet and this elephant stomped out. I couldn't resist!
After sharing the final product with Karen, we decided the challenge this week would be... "Use an Animal".
This is Karen's special ribbon. It is wonderful!

Materials:
My Mind's Eye paper ~ Lime Twist
black and grey card stock
Nate's ABC Cricut cartridge ~ elephant (p. 33) cut at 3"
Tim Holtz embossing folder
orange crinkle ribbon (Little Scrap Pieces)
green button
orange craft thread
wiggly eye
My Pink Stamper stamp
black ink
Spellbinders ~ Beaded Ovals

Good luck with the "Use an Animal" challenge.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana
