It's Independence Day in the USA

Hello Friends,

Happy Independence Day to the USA. Hope you enjoy the festivities and fireworks. Not sure what we are doing throughout the day, but I am sure to see some fireworks tonight since we have many neighbors that light them off.

Today I am sharing this patriotic card. One of my favorite color combinations (They are my school colors too). I added glitter glue for sparkle and some old sequins from the stash.

3 Girl JAM Daily Post using Navy Jute String

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is my day to share at 3 Girl JAM and I am using a versatile product that comes in a variety of colors...Jute String.

Here is my Design Team Project...

I created a small treat bag (Silhouette On-line #45733) perfect for all those guest that come over on Independence Day. I included Twizzlers that I cut to bite size. The 3" x 3" plastic bag fits inside nicely.

I used 3 Girl JAM's Navy Jute String to tie the bag closed.

Currently on sale for $4.97...be sure to use GC10 for a discount!

A tag (from Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge) stamped with Happy July 4th (from the Celebrate Freedom set available at Craftin' Desert Divas) hangs from the front flap. I added a couple red stars and blue liquid pearls.

My Country 'Tis of Thee at Die Cuttin' Divas

This Week's Challenge...

'Tis Thee Country

I live in the United States and our country's colors are red, white, and blue. We celebrate Independence Day July 4th of every year.

Here is my Design Team project...

I decided to make a tag for a candy jar and this firework was just "popping" with excitement to be on display.

This cute firework can be found at Miss Kate Cuttables. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the file. The stars I cut with the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge at 1" - 1/4". The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Diva stamps ~ Celebrate Freedom.

 Red, white, and blue crinkle ribbon, red and white twines, and  a few star buttons finish off the 4" tag.

Celebrate Freedom with Explosions of Fun

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by!  Today is my day to share a project using any stamp from Craftin' Desert Diva's new stamp line. Be sure to check out the wide variety of sentiments available! Tara has 12 sets with more coming soon!

Here is my Design Team project...

I tried a new technique using distressed inks and a fireworks embossing folder to make the background "pop". The stamp says it all..it was definitely fun to try! The 4th of July wagon was one of the first freebies I obtained, but I just used it for the first time. Doesn't it match this stamp set perfectly!

The clear sentiment was stamped with a dark blue ink.

Red, white, and blue sequins were scattered as they exploded with fun!

Celebrate Freedom Sneak Peek at Craftin' Desert Divas

Welcome to Day Five of our May stamp release party at Craftin' Desert Divas! Each day we will be giving you a sneak peek at one of the five new stamp sets. Here's my project I created:
I have just been crazy about bears lately and this one is no different. She is such a cutie bundled up in a pint size. I found this bear at Silhouette On-line Store and Stinkin' Cute Paper Piecings created the svg file. 

I added red glitter glue to her hair bow and star on her dress, and adhered a white twine bow to her shoulder.

This stamp is just one of many from the Celebrate Freedom stamp set. So many to choose from and ALL of them have fun fonts. You will definitely want this one on your wish list!

Happy 4th of July!

Welcome back and thank you for visiting. Summer seems to be passing by quickly and before you know it school time will be here again. Until then...I am enjoying the freedom of each day! 

 

Independence Day projects...

Hoping you have a safe and festive holiday! Enjoy the fireworks if they are having them in your town. We have no plans today, but on Saturday we will be going to celebrate with a picnic at a friend's.

The cupcake was cut from Love You Latte at 1 3/4".

I added some sparkling clear glitter to the frosting.

Happy Birthday is stamped on the inside.

 I used the following sketch from Deconstructed Sketch for both cards.

Since these were great papers and a fun sketch, I made another card.

 The owl was cut from Hoot 'n' Holler at 1 3/4".

The inside is blank, so it can be used for any occasion.

Celebrate with a Flag at Exploring Cricut

Today brings a new challenge at Exploring Cricut.

 

The Challenge..."Celebrate with a Flag"

The United States and Canada will be celebrating "their" day this week. Canada Day is today, whereas, Independence Day is Thursday. Many people have BBQs and enjoy firework displays. How will you be celebrating?

 

Here is my Design Team project...

I used the sketch from Your Next Stamp.

I used a portion of the American flag instead of using the entire flag with all 50 stars.

It is a time to celebrate while showing our love for our country and the freedom it offers.

Let Freedom Ring at Little Scrap Pieces and 3 Year Blogoversary Winners

Hello Crafty Friends,

 

Sorry to be running a little late. It has been a busy week! I had AIMS Math training two days, my son's vehicle was in the shop, my daughter had Driver's Ed and her road test, and I am trying to walk 3 miles everyday. Next week should be a calm week where I will have more time to craft. Yeah...looking forward to that!

The Challenge...Let Freedom Ring

 Do you ever go looking for paper and can not find what you are looking for? I wanted a classic patriotic paper and didn't like anything I had; therefore, I had to purchase some. I was looking for an Americana theme, but it was difficult to find a pad. I ended up buying individual sheets. 

 

Here is my Design Team project...

I cut two of the bells and adhered them in the center. I added cream ribbon to tie them together at the top. 

I attached the bells with an action wobble, so they would appear to be ringing.

Brrring! Brrrring!

Getting Patriotic at Whimsical Designs

 Tip of the Day...Combine textures to create a layered effect. Use papers, doilies, burlap, satins, and other fabrics for a tactile experience. Recipients love the look and feel of combining the different materials.

Red, White, and Blue at Little Scrap Pieces

Happy Friday Crafty Friends,

 

We had no school today since it was a weather make-up day (no hurricane days missed this past season) making this a four day weekend. Yeah! I went to the flea market this morning and found three new sizes for treat bags and then the AC repair man installed a new part in our unit. Now I need to plan a few projects. Looking at current challenges, DT commitments, and card orders. Might be a busy weekend!
