It's Better to Give Than to Receive

Welcome Back Crafty Friends,

What a great weekend. I am just sad it went by so quickly. We finally got the Christmas tree and decorated it last night. It is a little smaller than we usually get, but it fits perfectly in the space we wanted. We put a few presents underneath to build anticipation with the kids. We told them no shaking or peeking, but my son has the tendency to be able to lift a package and tell what it is. Hmmm...not sure how he does it. Hopefully, we will have a few surpises this year.  :)

I remember growing up always hearing,"It is better to give than to receive." I am so glad we were raised that way. In the spirtit of giving, here is a new card.
 Made a tag to match.
Materials:
Colorbok paper
Stretch Your Imagination cartridge ~ presents cut at 2" and 3"
Thanksgiving cartidge ~ Give
red and green cardstock
Cuttlebug embossing folders ~ swirls and Swiss dots
Green sparkle ribbon

Challenges:

Lastly, here is a picture of our tree (plus my dog) for the  Christmas Tree Link Up Party at DoubleClick Connections.
Enjoy your week. Only a few days for us. I sure hope we can get all the work done we need to in class. Can you believe we have 2 - 3 tests (reading, math, and maybe Science)? Then we have a music perfromance, a Field trip, and DARE graduation today. WOW!

Mrs. Frosty

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Here today with another card that I made late last night. After working with the pink for Docerela Creations, I decided to try another. I had all the scraps laying out and I have been wanting to make a snowman; therefore,  I created a Mrs. Frosty.
 Materials:
Doodlecharms cartridge ~ Snowman cut at 3 1/2"
Everyday Paperdolls ~ scarf and hat
pink, black, orange and white glitter paper scraps
Cuttlebug embossing folder ~ snowflakes
white ribbon
pink wiggly eyes (Thank You Carri)
pink gems
Fiskars snowflake punch
white ink
pink craft thread
Challenges:

Only four days of school this week, then we are off until January. What are your holiday plans? Any mini vacations? Does family come to your home? We always host Christmas at our house since we spend Thanksgiving at the in-laws. We open gifts, the kids "play" with their new "toys", usually play a board game, and then feast. It is a wonderful day!

Happy Holidays to you and your family,
Georgiana

Baby's First Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends,

Just about finished Christmas shopping today after we picked up the Jeep from the shop (yes, it was there again). We think it is finally fixed. Yeah! There was a part in the steering column that was shorting out a bunch of other parts. We can only hope!

When we returned home, I worked on this card. It is for a co-worker's granddaughter. She loves to get her cards personalized.
Materials:
Doodlecharms cartridge ~ stocking (p.129) cut at 4"
pink and yellow checkered paper
white glitter paper by DCWV
pink paper by DCWV (Wedding and Love stack)
Fiskars snowflake punch
pink and white polka dotted buttons
white craft thread
pink gems
yellow sheer ribbon

Challenges:

Hope you have most of your holiday shopping done. How about sharing how much you have left to do. I just need to get a couple stocking stuffers and wrap a few gifts.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Card and Tag Set

Hello Crafty Friends,

Yesterday I came home from school a little early and I was elated. My plan was to work on a few projects with the unexpected time. I sure am glad I did because I was able to create two card and tag sets. I figured I had to try and improve after my last tag disaster. I am quite pleased with the outcome.
I now feel redeemed! : )

Let's Make Tags!

Good Morning!

Today brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva and for me that was literal. I was all "gung-ho" to make tags using Digis from our sponor (Whimsie Doodles) and...let's just say it was not as easy I had planned. I will be working on this challenge for the rest of the week.

I was able to create few tags, but...I am going to keep trying.

I was finally able to get the Happy Holidays centered on the tag after numerous attempts. Check that of the list. ; ) I am going to try adding some embossing and inking.
I have seen so many fabulous ones that I am determined to improve.  I will have more to share during the week.

I hope that you will give the challenge a try too. Be sure to visit Die Cuttin' Divas to see the Design Team's tag. They are ALL WONDERFUL!

Take Care,
Georgiana

Not only am I going to be busy at school, but I am looking forward to making a few more cards for friends and fellow teachers. ALSO, I have found a new challenge. I will be working on overcoming and becoming better in this area that I am terrible at. You will have to wait until tomorrow to find out just what it may be.

Today, I have a peaceful little birdie.
