Just Because...It's Almost Summer!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today is my 3 Girl JAM day and I am sharing some of my favorite crinkle ribbon...Aqua Splash from the Caribbean Splash bundle.

Here is my DT project...
These colors scream summer time is here and I am ready for the fun! The bright orange and yellow are playful colors and a touch of the aqua reminds me of the beach. Can you tell I am ready for summer vacation!?!
On this first card, I hand cut the pennants by finding the center of each rectangular strip and then trimmed off the triangular portion.  I layered 2 flowers on top of my Aqua Splash bow along with an orange sequin for the center. I scattered a few orange and aqua sequins to add sparkle to the background. Lastly, the tiny tag and tiny stamp by My Craft Spot was adhered.
First, I layered various pieces of coordinating papers I found in my stash (Don't you love when they match nicely and it doesn't take much searching?) Then I cut the flower pot from April Showers Cricut cartridge at 2 1/2". A few embellishments were added for final touches...aqua ribbon from the Caribbean Splash bundle, yellow button, silver gems, a couple flowers.
A new challenge will be starting tomorrow at 3 Girl JAM, so be sure to stop by again so you can join us.

All Things Spring at 3 Girl JAM

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the 3 Girl JAM All Things Spring Blog Hop. You should be joining me from the 3 Girl JAM blog. If not be sure to start at the beginning and then hop on through to see all the amazing Spring projects.
Today begins a new challenge at 3 Girl JAM and a new ribbon release is being showcased. Here in Florida many of the trees are beginning to bloom and they sure do look pretty...there are LOTS of flowers! They smell wonderful too!

The newly released LG Bundle ~
(only $4.97 for 8 yards and you can use Spring25 for a discount)

This crinkle ribbon is super easy to bunch, tie bows, or you can make your own flowers. I added a stick pin with green beads that I created.

I found this box in my stash (actually it was a pack of 6)...something I bought at Michaels when it was on clearance for 70% off. I added the LG ribbon on each side, then cut and assembled the Spring flower. I love all the layers! I used a quilling pen to roll the center flower piece. It helps keep a tight roll and prevents unraveling.
A small stamped tag was adhered to the green leaf making it a perfect gift for anyone.
Materials:
DCWV pattern paper
green, brown, silver, and white card stock
April Showers Cricut cartridge ~ tree
Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge ~ various flower pieces
stick pin
silver flowers
Docerela Creations stamp (Spring)
My Craft Spot stamp (Thankful...)
black ink

Hope you will join us for the All Things Spring Challenge at 3 Girl JAM.
March 29th - May 2nd
Prize...$20 gift certificate to 3 Girl JAM

My Blog Candy...
Handmade stick pins
(I even made the matchbook container for storing and mailing the decorative pins...I was SUPER excited to get the measurements exactly the way I wanted.)
* Leave a comment stating what you enjoy about Spring
* Be sure to leave your contact information (e-mail, blog, and/or FB)
* Winner will be announced by Thursday evening

Here is the hop  line-up...

3 Girl JAM Design Team Announcement

Hello Crafty Friends,

Thank you for stopping by! I have wonderful news to share...I am now a Design Team member of 3 Girl JAM. I am SUPER excited! I just love to use ribbon on my projects, so what could be better than this! I am looking forward to working with Julie and all the other ladies. Be sure to visit 3 Girl JAM to see a complete list of all the 3 Girl JAMmers.

I created a card just for today's announcement.
I decided to think Spring...bright colors, flowers, and a love shack.
I wrapped a bright purple brad around the double loop bow and scattered teal sequins with purple pearls down the right side.
I bunched the Aqua Splash ribbon from the Caribbean Splash set. I used micro Glue Dots, which prevents the ribbon from unraveling.
This stamp is from Cardz TV ~ Encouraging Thoughts set
Other Materials:
April Showers Cricut cartridge ~ house cut at 2 1/4"
Kathy Davis paper ~ Happiness stack
purple card stock
purple fabric brad
teal sequins
purple pearls
purple ink

Be sure to get your crinkle ribbon today. You just have to decide what colors you want...Ribbon Candy, Wine and Jewels, Coffee, or maybe Spring Flowers. Each of these 8 yard bundles are only $4.97. I have a special code to share, which will give you a discount and if you use my code (GC10) I will earn credits for a chance to win a surprise.

Enjoy your weekend and get crafty!

My hubby and I just returned from shopping and Joanns happened to be one of the stops because we had to get a Disney cross stitch for my MIL since her birthday is this week. While there, I found some amazing deals too. Paper, stickers, stamps, and Spellbinders were 70% off. Yes, I found Spellbinders in the clearance section. Go check your Joanns today if you have one!  At this price the supplies will be gone quickly!

Today also is my Exploring Cricut Design Team Day. Sorry to be posting a littler than usual, but with the Penguin Blog Hop and Little Scrap Pieces I was trying to space the projects out.

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...

brown card stock
April Showers Cricut cartridge ~ house cut at 3"
Live Simply Cricut cartridge ~ deer cut at 1 1/2"

Tip Tuesday ~ Scraps

Please scroll down for my Die Cuttin' Diva Design Team card.

Good Morning!
Welcome to Tip Tuesday.

Today is an exciting day...it is my first time posting at Tip Tuesday for Creative Cutter Room. I would like to share a quick and easy tip on how to use those scraps that have been accumulating.

First, gather a pile of your scraps and spread them out on an open space. Then pick the color theme you would like to work with. I selected pastels since Spring is approaching.
Use your paper trimmer to cut square and rectangular pieces, which will be used to create a mosiac background. I love this technique since no two cards will look alike.
Place the pieces on your card base or layout to create an appealing background. Once you are content with the pattern, you will adhere each piece.
Add your die-cut or image and any extra embellishments.
Don't forget the envelope! You can use strips of scraps to create a peek-a-boo effect. The recipient will get a peek at what the card will look like inside.

Looking forward to seeing your projects that you make using scraps.
