Happy Sunday!
Today is not only Father's Day, but Dorm Move-In Day. We will be spending the day together moving our "little" girl towards the next step of becoming independent. An exciting journey awaits her these next few years.
My hubby asked me the other day to make his father a card. Of course, he knew I would. I wanted a masculine look, but something a little different. That is when I decided to try these metal sheets I had in my stash! I first cut a 1" strip and embossed it in the Cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz distressed pattern. Then I cut the letters with my Cricut.
I used the following sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack.
I wrapped some gold sewing thread and randomly taped it on the backside of the MFT stitched circle. Latte skittles by Carri were glued in the upper right corner.
Other Materials:
DCWV pattern paper ~ the Natural Stack
Other Challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Metal
Hiding in My Craft Room ~ Masculine
Hope you make this a wonderful Father's Day for that special man in your life.
Stay Creative,
Georgiana

ReplyDeleteSo glad you found a pair of shorts. Go back and try on those skorts! I love mine. They're so comfy and have a nice feminine look too. Good luck!!
All the best to your daughter! It's an exciting time but a bit sad when your kids head off. Hope you're doing okay.
Great work. Thank you for joining the Fun Day Friday challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack. Hope to see you again next time.
ReplyDeleteReally like how you did this sketch. The gold thread is the perfect accent for the flower detail the sketch showed.
ReplyDeleteThat's a hard one Georgina, loving your daughter to college and trust me it isn't any easy with a son either! I hope she isn't real far away, our son is only 2 1/2 hours away so that isn't so bad. Love your masculine father's day card, the papers are some of my favorites. Love that metal you embossed too! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteFantastic card! I remember moving into dorm day...over and over and over again! My son went to 3 different colleges to get 2 bachelors, two masters and his PhD. It seemed like we were always moving him!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! I thought the gold thread was wire. Looks great!
