Mix It Up at Whimsical Designs

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back for another Whimsical Wednesday.

Today we have a new challenge and it is awesome because I tried a new technique with some new materials...Gelatos.

When I went to the Scrapbook Expo two weeks ago I was a Teacher's Volunteer in a Mixed Media class. I did not receive any of the materials or get to try the techniques in the class, but I sure did watch, listen, and remember.

Here is my Mixed Media project...
I made these cards for two of my students to thank them for the teacher appreciation gifts they gave to me last week.
I colored the Swirls embossing folder with Gelatos (pink and purple) and added water. Then I ran the paper in the folder thru the Cuttlebug. Using a paint brush and more water, I blended the colors together.
This second card was created differently. I embossed the black paper first then added the Gelatos directly onto the paper. I used my finger and a baby wipe to smudge the colors together.
Pink pleated ribbon, a pink tag, and pink and purple flowers bring out the metallic colors.
Materials:
black, white, pink and purple card stock
Gelatos ~ Metallic
Swirls embossing folder
Heidi Grace glitter flowers
Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge~ scalloped oval
Spellbinders ~ Label
purple buttons
pink and white twine
pink pleated ribbon
pink pearls
Whimsical Designs stamp
