Hello Crafty Friends,
I remember as I was growing up I had to ride the bus (If I recall, it was called the yellow shame train) until my Junior/Senior year in high school. Then it was all about "finding a ride". I surely didn't like the bus ride to and from school and my children have not been very fond of the idea either. My daughter has not had to ride the bus (except on field trips and the first time she did there was an accident...a car ran into the back of the bus at a red light). My son was on a bus home when there was a fight (my son was not involved) and law enforcement had to be called to intervene. So many terrible experiences!
Although I have lots of other bus stories, I will share my card instead. It is much more pleasurable.
Materials:
yellow, red, white, and black card stock
plaid paper from scrap box
letters pattern paper ~ Momenta paper pad
Locker Talk Cricut cartridge ~ bus
red buttons
yellow embroidery floss
vellum title by Colorbok family quotes
Challenges:
2 Sisters Challenge ~ sketch (missed deadline for Anything Goes)
What bus experiences do you have?
Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Love this card! The papers and fun design are awesome! I never took the bus to school I was called a "walker" since I lived within a mile of the school. My girls do not take the bus either because of all the scary stories that I hear of stuff going on the on the bus. A boy tried to jump out the window, another one peed in a bottle, fist fights... The usual I guess???
ReplyDeleteI was punched in the nose by the bully on the bus in second grade-terrible nosebleed ensued! No further bus riding for me-my parents took us after that, thank goodness. My husband also has terrible bus memories of being pushed around and bullied. We live so close to our school that we have to walk or drive our kids-not such a bad thing! The bus on your card is adorable and makes me want to ride it-it just looks happy :)
ReplyDeleteLove your card!! Cute bus. The papers are great. Love the buttons. :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteCool school bus. I never took the bus. My parents live right by the school. My dad put a gate in the back fence. We would run like crazy when we heard the warning bell. I drive my kids
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, and love the bus!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter you and your kids bus experiences, I like your bus a lot better!!! LOL! Glad they were both okay!

When I was a kid, I rode the bus only for a couple of years,, and it was not that bad in my case, but then I moved out of the school atttendance area but wanted to stay attending the same school and hald to walk for the last year back home, trust me it was scarier and I had awful experiences while walking down solitary streets...now my oldest wants to ride the bus this year, and trust me My stomach is in knots just to think about all the horror stories you hear, but I am staying as possitive as I can ;) ....LOVE this card, I hope Nation Wide this year there are more happy rides home than not!!! thank you for sharing your stories with us.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!

ha ha one look at your marvelous card and all I can hear in my head the wheels on the bus! Great card.
ReplyDeleteLove your card Georgiana. My bus story: 1st day of school and my dog followed me on the bus and WOULDN'T get off. We had to go and get my dad who was a dairy farmer to come and get the dog off the bus. So embarrassing for the first day of school.
ReplyDeleteGreat card-love the colors and cuts;) Oh boy, do I ever remember riding the bus...we lived about 7 miles from town. Always kids throwing spit balls, water balloons out the windows, tomatoes out the window. You name it..only rode the bus 1 year and then our parents took us each morning. Yay!

ReplyDeleteOh my. So cute. Love the touch of the buttons. TFS with us at CTO this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome!! I love the cute bus!! I don't have any bad bus stories. I went to a small private Catholic school and everyone pretty much behaved on the bus or the driver would tell our parents!! I didn't have to ride one to High School since my sister was two years older and she drove me :)

Georgiana ~ CUTE card! Love the road ~ CLEVER! Oh my the "Yellow Shame train" ~ LOL! That is the best! How horrible for your children! I could drive my son everyday since we can see his school ~ his school sits on top of the other hill but we make him ride it! My husband wants him to experience it ~ meanwhile I waste half my morning waiting for it! But it makes him learn how to follow rules ~ plus he gets to see his friends!
ReplyDeleteI love all your colors and your cute bus die-cut, so very adorable! Thanks for joining us this week @ CTO for our "Back to School" challenge :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how cute that bus looks, G! Had no idea that Locker Talk looked like that--kinda rickety. Your card is adorable. I didn't ride the bus until high school. I was close enough to walk to elementary and middle school. And my senior year, I drove because I was on work study program and got to leave at 11:00 to go to work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card.Your bus experience are not so fun at all. Thanks for sharing.I never had any fun rides either complicated.
