Welcome Back for Day 3!
I am glad you have joined us this weekend for this amazing hop. Yvette has been celebrating her first blogoversary and we are all making "first" projects in her honor.
Today's card is a quick one because it has been hectic the past two days. First, (yes there is that word again) we thought our dog ran away on Friday. We went school shopping and when we came home she was gone. Now there is a story behind this, so I will keep it short. My daughter taught our dog to jump (She thought she could be on one of those dog shows for competition.). I know you are probably thinking there is nothing wrong with that. Well, she learned how to jump over our 4 foot gate in the backyard, so we (actually my husband and son) installed a 6 foot privacy fence last weekend. We thought problem solved. Wouldn't you?
As I was saying...we went school shopping for a few hours and when we returned she was gone! HOW?!?! After roaming the neighborhood for hours, calling animal service, knocking on neighbor's doors, doing lost dog tours...the next door neighbor came over with her. She caught her and she was in their kitchen. Yes, my daughter knocked on all the neighbor's doors except for that one. PHEW! The neighbor would not accept anything for "pet sitting", so...
I made a side step card (another new card I tried for the first time) for her and I am going to include a gift card for being so kind. This is the first time our dog has escaped from a 6 foot fence. Can you just imagine?!?!
I used The Pet Pad from Recollections for the paper and images.
I found a template that was very helpful; therefore, I want to share. It is from Julie's Stamping Spot. She has written instructions at the top too.
If you are looking for a variety of folds that you are interested in trying, I found another site called Card Making Magic. There are about 4 or 5 new folds that I need to explore...the diamond top card, the springfold, the waterfall, and twisted easel. There are videos and pictures available. I am still going to make the tent card, but it will have to be later this afternoon. I will definitely post the first one I make.
Just a Reminder: There is Blog Candy.
I selected this embossing folder because it was the first time that I bought one that I already owned. Ooops! Please remember to leave your e-mail and blog address (if you have one). The winner will be announced Monday evening, Aug. 8th.
Be sure to visit Sherri now. She ALWAYS has amazing projects.
Thank you again for joining us this weekend. We hope you have found some new ideas to try. Be sure to come back and share what you have tried for the first time.
Stay Creative,
Georgiana

First ;) I love this side step card, TFS I think your neighbor will adore it!...and second, I totally believe your dog skills; growing up I used to have 2 dogs that where not allowed inside the house and they use to jump trough the little tiny bathroom window when my mom was not home, he he it was hilarious to watch such big dogs jump every time my mom went out the door... your story just brought back awesome memories, thank you!

This is such a darling card! I love that little puppy! And the step card is such a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteG- this is terrific; I didn't see it before. Thanks for providing the directions on how to make the card. Now I'll have to try it!! Why can't I ever have enough time?! Glad you found your dog and that she was okay. I was looking back at some old posts and wondered if you ever got the Campin Critters cart? I kept looking at it too and finally bought it at Michael's. My Joann's didn't have it when carts were on sale at $29.99, and not even online! So I broke down and bought it at Michael's for $39.99 during their sale last week I think it was. Now Joann's has carts for 34.99 this week. But I can't! I have too many I haven't used, and oh yes, I think A Child's Year is going to be worth it. Looking to make more using that cart. I love the silhouette design anyway. And the shadows fit so nicely!--Pat
