Scraps Blog Hop ~ Day 1

Welcome to the Scraps Blog Hop. I am so glad you have decided to join us. If you came from Just a Pac Rat, you are in the right place. If you just happened upon my blog and would like to play along, start at the beginning at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com.

The purpose of this hop is to help you use up some of your scraps. I'm sure you've got your fair share - I know I do! You'll see 30 talented crafters coming up with unique ways to use their scraps. Some may share tips on how they store their scraps as well!

Be sure to visit all the blogs and leave comments, as there will be a grand prize, a $50 credit to the Designs on Cloud 9 store,
http://www.designsoncloud9.com/
sponsored by Michelle. To win the grand prize, you must comment on and become a follower of all the blogs
.

Here are my scraps. I keep them all in a plastic storage box. Unfortunately it is not organized , but it sure is easy to throw the extra pieces in there when I am done with a project.

I have created a set of cards from my scrap paper that you can make too. The best part is that they are very versatile. You can choose any colors and then add embellishments. I went thru my scrap box and pulled out colors that coordinated first. Then I selected the colors I wanted to work with. I chose orange/brown for one and blue/green for another.
Materials you will need: a card base (any size or color you choose), a paper trimmer, scrap paper cut into 1 inch strips, and adhesive. Then you will cut your 1 inch strip into 1 inch squares.
Next, you will cut your 1 inch squares into triangles (as above). You can even cut them one more time to make smaller squares (as shown below).
Using your triangular pieces, create a quilt-like pattern. I place all the pieces on the card in various positions before adhering them.

Finally, add embellishments. I chose florals, ribbon, buttons, and gems.

I am also offering an extra goodie for visiting. Since you probably have plenty of scraps, I thought embellishments would be a great addition. Please leave a comment including your contact information. I would like your blog name (if you have one) and your e-mail address.
I will announce the winner on Wednesday along with the Happy Blogoversary winner. There is still time to enter if you haven't. I am still looking forward to 675 followers, so I can add to the batch of goodies.

Thank you for taking the time and visiting. I am extemely happy that you decided to stop by. Be sure to come back tomorrow for another project using more scraps. Now you should be on your way to visit Christine at Chris's Creations.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana
