2011 Brings in Challenges

Have you every made a project for a challenge and when you went to post it had already closed? Frustrating, huh? Well, that happened to me again. Of course I was disappointed at first, but not discouraged. I decided to search for some new sites with current challenges to add to my left sidebar (Pile it On is wonderful!). To my surprise I found a few.
Yeah!

Here is the card I created this morning. I thought it was the perfect outfit for a New Year's party (Oh, it has a matching purse and a pair of heels that I did not include .). I used the sketch from Easy Craft Projects #28, the theme is New Years, and I incorporated lots of "new" features for me. I am definitely going to meet my crafting goals this year.
I bought some holiday shimmer spritz from Michaels which was on clearance for 70% off. I have looked at it in the past, but didn't want to pay full price for a tiny bottle (That is the frugal me.). The package contains four different colors (Cherry Ice, Emerald Sprinkle, Vanilla Shimmer, and Gold Glow) and I love it! Now I am wishing I would have bought two.

The shimmer spritz is "brand spanking new" to me along with the rounded corners. I bought a punch for 50% off when I went shopping the other day.
  • The diva dress is from Joann Craft Essentials. I bought it months ago because my daughter loves zebra and it was on clearance.
  • I made the 2011 banner with the Independence Day cartridge, pink cardstock, zebra print paper, and white craft thread.
  • The numbers are silver stickers.
  • pink gems
  • foam squares for dimension
The inside sentiment was cut from pink cardstock ~ Wild Card cartridge at 8 1/2".

Challenges:

Although I missed the deadline at My Sheri Crafts (spray/mist) and Our Creative Corner (felt), I am pleased I found some new challenge sites. I hope you are able to submit a few projects this week. If you know of other challenges, please share! I would love to add them to my sidebar.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for my first giveaway of 2011.
Until then,
Georgiana  : )
