Hello Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today. What a fabulous weekend! First, I tried a new technique for me...Watercolor "Smooshing". Fun, yet a little messy! Then, I went shopping with my hubby and daughter Boy, did I make out like a bandit! I found so many great deals that I spent my entire craft budget for this month. That's okay because I have so much in my stash I could go without buying for 6 months and probably still have enough supplies.
I decided I was going to start trying some new techniques and I sure am glad I did. I watched a video on PaperTrey Ink called Watercolor Smooshing. I got a bit carried away and made a few different cards once I got the hang of using the inks.
First...
I created the background on Strathmore watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress inks (Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Faded Jeans). Hello was cut at 6" with my Cricut Expression ~ Wild Card cartridge. The Jenni Bowlin butterfly was mounted on a pop dot.
Second...
Another "smooshing" background using Tim Holtz Dusty Concord and Spun Sugar ink. I created the watercolor the same way, but the effect on the paper sure looks different. I added some eggplant colored flowers along the left side. The sentiment is by Hampton Arts. What do you think?
Third...
I actually used a different technique for this one. I heat embossed the background with VersaMark watermark ink and clear embossing powder (I used Clear Recollections.). Then I used watercolor paint from Artist's Loft (Michaels). I stamped a sentiment in black on a pennant along with some sequins scattered.
Hope you enjoy your upcoming week! I am going to be busy, but I have a few more ideas just waiting to be made. If you like what you see, please be sure to follow either thru Google Friend or Bloglovin. Carri, from Doubleclick, and I are working on a new craft series and I don't want you to miss out!
Stay Creative,
Georgiana
