Welcome to Day 2 of the Scraps Blog Hop. I am so glad you have decided to join us. If you came from Lezlye's Ink and Paper Creations at www.lezlyes.blogspot.com, you are in the right place. If you just happened upon my blog and would like to play along, start at the beginning at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com.
Today I continued to use my paper scraps , but I also included ribbon scraps.
These are the extra pieces that have not been used. I keep them in a small bag until I can find a use for them (or I remember to pull it out).
This is my ribbon organized. If I cut a piece off and then decide I do not like the color, or if it is too long it ends up in the small bag of scraps. |
Here are the scraps I wanted to use. I was able to make four cards and I still have a little left to make some quilt cards.
I used just the pattern on the Anna Griffin paper to create this card. The center piece is raised with foam squares to add dimension. I included a piece of purple ribbon from my scrap pile.
This one is also the patterned paper. I added a piece of green ribbon, along with buttons and florals.
I found a piece of bright green scrap paper to match the ribbon, and I still had plenty of purple scraps. The balloons (p. 54) and sentiment were cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the circles to match the ribbon.
For this card, I found some red scraps and wanted to try a new technique with a piece of ribbon that I hadn't tried before . I love how pleated ribbon looks, so that was my goal...to use the scraps and learn how. I plan on practicing some more today!
I made one more quilt-like card, but wanted to add a piece of ribbon scrap. Just exploring options.

Reminder: I am offering an extra goodie for visiting. Since you probably have plenty of scraps, I thought embellishments would be a great addition. Please leave a comment including your contact information. I would like your blog name (if you have one) and your e-mail address.
I will announce the winner on Wednesday along with the Happy Blogoversary winner. There is still time to enter if you haven't. I am still looking forward to 675 followers, so I can add to the batch of goodies.
Thank you for taking the time and visiting. I am extemely happy that you decided to stop by. Be sure to come back tomorrow for another project using more scraps. Now you should be on your way to visit Christine at Chris's Creations.
Stay Creative,
Georgiana
