Thinking of You at Die Cuttin' Divas ~ It's an Embossing Challenge

Hello Everyone!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
Embossing ~
~ Dry or Heat ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I wanted to have both types of embossing on my project today, so I had to think of how to incorporate dry and heat. It did not take long to decide and come up with an idea. I also knew I wanted to use my oxide inks with white embossing powder since they always looks great together. The key would be to find the right stamp.

The flower is an oldie by Inkadinkadoo. I prefer to use my older stamps with VersaMark ink just in case there is any residue.  I heat embossed the flower on white cardstock with white embossing powder. Then I used three shades of Tim Holtz oxides: fossilized amber, spiced marmalade, and abandoned coral to add some color.

The yellow card stock was first cut with the stitched rectangle using my Cuttlebug (C plate) and then the circle was cut out from the center. Lastly, the cardstock was placed in the the swiss dots embossing folder and it went through the Cuttlebug (B plate) creating raised dots.

The stamped sentiment (included with a magazine subscription) was heat embossed on vellum. As long as you move the heat gun back and forth, the vellum will not warp.
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Embossing" challenge. Our sponsor this week is Leslie from our very our DCD Design Team and it is a CTMH stamp set.

Dare 2B Artzy Guest Designer ~ Day 2

 Hello Everyone,
I am thrilled that I am Guest Designer at Dare 2B Artzy again. Be sure to stop by their blog and then head to the shop, so you can add a few of their products to your stash.

Today's Guest Designer Project...
Since I used a butterfly last week, I decided to choose a flower from the Wishing Happiness stamp set for this project.

First, I stamped the flower with Versafine Onyx Black ink on heavy white cardstock and then I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the lines.  After tapping off the excess powder, I heat embossed the image. I used Chameleon markers to color the flower in shades of pink and purples. I cut out a MFT scalloped frame in purple polka dot paper and adhered it onto a rectangular piece of pink paper.

The stamped sentiment is from the same stamp set ~ Wishing Happiness and it is also heat embossed. Pink and purple sequins were scattered on opposites sides of the flower in groups of three. Lastly, mini purple pearls were added to the center of the flower and in the middle of each sequin.

This card should bring a smile to someone's face since happiness is being wished upon them.
Thank you again Cindy and Kendra for allowing me to be Guest Designer this month. Looking forward to another project next  week.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge ~ It's Anything Goes

Hello!
I'd like to thank everyone that sent FB messages yesterday in regards to my son's car accident. He walked away (thank goodness) and was only complaining of airbag burns, a back ache, and a sore hand. I am hoping today he doesn't feel any more pains. I have to bring him to work this morning, so I will be checking on him. The car was towed and insurance assessed the damage already. I was quite impressed with the claim agents and how quickly they were able to assist. The cost to repair the car is just over $10,000. Hopefully they won't find any other concerns and it will be fixed within the next two weeks. I am glad I am off for the summer, so I can help him get around.

The challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy began yesterday while all this happening, but you still have almost a week to create and submit.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Anything Goes ~
~ The Best Challenge ~

Here is my Design Team project...
A co-worker asked me to make a watermelon themed birthday card for her granddaughter.

The Miss Kate Cuttables' cute watermelon was cut with my Cameo. I also used a couple different MFT dies (Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Rectangle Frames and stitched rectangle from a Blueprints) that were cut with my Cuttlebug.

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Sweet Birthday Wishes set. A pink and green bow along with a few black gems were the final touch.
Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy this week for our "Anything Goeschallenge. Be sure to check out the other DT projects.

Craftaholics R Us ~ Use Kraft

Hello Everyone,
It's Wednesday, which means we are halfway through this week.

The challenge at Craftaholics R Us also begins today.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Use Kraft ~

Here is my Design Team project...
I like to make treat containers and even though it is summer with no students, I am thinking ahead. I found this cute mini treat cup with handle by My Scrap Chick and thought the teachers would like this one when it is time to go back to school (Please understand...I am not rushing it...I just thought these were super cute treats.). I decided to give it a try now to see how quick and easy it would be to make a bunch.

After all the pieces were cut on my Cameo in kraft and gingham paper, I started to glue the bottom portion. Then the handle was attached with white brads.

The 2 oz disposable treat cups can be found in the paperware section of your local store. I bought mine at Target this time, but you can find them at Walmart or at a grocery store. The pack is about $3 for 50.

I added organza ribbon, burlap flowers, and a stamped sentiment by Scrappy Moms Stamps.
Hope you will join us at Craftaholics R Us this week for our "Use Kraftchallenge. Be sure to check out the other crafty creations.

DCD ~ Masculine or Father's Day

Happy Tuesday!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
Masculine or Father's Day ~

Here is my Design Team project...
A couple week's ago I won a challenge at Cut It Up and the prize was gift certificate to My Scrap Chick. I bought a bunch of files and this happened to be one of them. It is a beverage shirt wrap.

My hubby's favorite drink is Coca Cola.

The box to hold the can is actually quite durable. I was a bit worried at first, but it turned out nicely.

The stamped sentiments are from Jaded Blossom.
Other Challenges:
Try it on Tuesday ~ For the Boys

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Masculine or Father's Day" challenge. Our sponsor this week is Scrapbook Adhesives and it is a $35 prize package. How awesome is that!

Dare 2B Artzy Guest Designer

Hello Everyone,
I have the honor of being Guest Designer this month at Dare 2B Artzy. Be sure to stop by their blog first and then the shop to check out all the amazing projects that have been created using these fabulous products.

Today's Guest Designer Project...
I just recently found these stamps and I am so happy I did. They are so pretty and the sentiments are lovely. Don't forget to visit the shop today and see for yourself!

First, I stamped the butterfly from the Dare 2B Artzy ~ Butterfly Inspirations set with Versafine Black Onyx ink and sprinkled the outline with clear embossing powder before heat embossing it. Then, I used Yasutomo metallic watercolors to paint the butterfly. The embossed lines keeps the paint from running into the different sections. Lastly, I cut a scalloped circle which would allow my butterfly to be used as the focal point.

The stamped sentiment is from the same stamp set. I heat embossed it to give it a bit of dimension. Isn't it a beautiful saying?

I used 110lb black cardstock for the cardbase and then cut a scalloped rectangle to coordinate with the scallop circle. I found a piece of pretty pattern paper that matched the color of the butterfly's wings. The final touch was adding black gems in the opposite corners.

Thanks so much Cindy and Kendra for allowing me to be Guest Designer this month. Looking forward to next's week project.

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Hello Sunshine

Happy Saturday!
Hope everyone is doing well today.
Yesterday, my hubby and I took a ride to My Favorite Things in Eustis, so I could buy a few of the pieces from the New Release. I had to pick and choose, so I wouldn't break the bank. I sure was eager to play once I got home.

Today's project...
It is summer and I have been quite happy this past week just relaxing. My Caribbean cruise is approaching quickly...Yay! Looking forward to this trip since my son and his girlfriend are going with us. My son hasn't been on a cruise in about 10 years and his girlfriend has never been. It makes me excited thinking about the fun times we are going to have, and I thought that was a good reason to smile.

The hello die is part of the June Release, but sunshine is the free die (while supplies last) if you spend $60. I had the MFT Diagonal Sentiment Strip Cover-Up in my collection.

The owl is from MFT ~ Owl My Love stamp set. I used Chameleon markers to color him. I chose colors that would match the yellow background.

For the background...I used Tim Holtz distress inks to do some smooshing on watercolor paper. The four colors are: squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, fossilized amber, and scattered straw.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Seems like there are plenty of special events no matter where you live. Enjoy and be sure to smile!

Love Challenge at Craftaholics R Us

Hello Everyone,
Welcome back. It has been a busy week around here, but it seems no matter how much you do there is always more. My "to-do" list continues to grow, but checking off items gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Today's goal is to get at least 50% of it completed.

The challenge at Craftaholics R Us began yesterday. I prefer not to double post if I don't have to. Since I didn't have anything else scheduled it worked out nicely. You still have plenty of time to join. Let's get crafty!

This Week's Challenge...
~ Love You Cards ~

Here is my Design Team project...
When I think of love, the color red comes to mind first. I pulled out two Christmas paper stacks and selected a few of the red and white sheets. You can't even tell the papers are from the holidays.

I used the following sketch from Cheerful Sketches Challenge Blog.

The stamped sheep is by MFT ~ Ewe Are the Best set. I used a Chameleon marker to color the heart, the sheep's face, and his feet.

The black stitched circle and the word love are cut from a black glitter foam sheet. Even though the material is slightly thicker than cardstock, it still cut in the Cuttlebug without difficulty.
Hope you will join us at Craftaholics R Us this week for our "Love You Cardschallenge. Be sure to check out the other crafty creations.

Circles at PDE

Happy Wednesday!
The challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy begins today.

This Week's Challenge...
~ Circles ~
I do love to use circles on my projects, especially my stitched dies. They come in different sizes, so it makes it easy to chose which one you want.

Here is my Design Team project...
I went a little crazy and used circles for my background, but I love it. Since I still had my Tim Holtz oxide inks on my desk from the other day I used the same four colors: cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, broken china, and faded jeans. I colored the three critters from the MFT Polynesian Paradise stamp set and adhered them to scalloped circles. If you notice I turned the background colors the opposite direction as the critters (blue on top and green on the bottom). I thought it was a neat effect.

The stamped sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Random Act of Kindness set.
Hope you will join us at Pause Dream Enjoy this week for our "Circleschallenge. Be sure to check out the other DT projects.

If you like what you see, please become a follower. Leave me your blog name and I will stop by to see what you have been making! Since I am off for summer vacation, I have plenty of time to visit.

June's Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday!
Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This Week's Challenge...
June's Sketch ~
Use the sketch for any theme.

Here is my Design Team project...
When I saw this bright polka dot paper it made me happy, and I immediately thought of the rainforest and the birds that might live there.

This tropical bird is by Miss Kate Cuttables. It was so easy to find colors to coordinate with all those dots. The pattern paper is by Photo Play ~ Summer Daydreams 6x6 pad.

The stamped sentiment is from My Craft Spot.
Other Challenges:

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "June's Sketch" challenge. These are awesome since you can choose your theme!  Very fun yet challenging. You can create anything you want. Our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe.

Smile...It's Time to Announce the Winner

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for celebrating with me this past weekend. Hard to believe it has been 8 years, but I can honestly say I have enjoyed the journey. Meeting so many wonderful people and learning from each makes me want to continue for another 8 years (or more).

Welcome to all my new followers. I am looking forward to sharing lots this summer, so be sure to check back often. Also, if you haven't left your blog address be sure to. I want to visit and see what you are creating.

Today's project...
After looking back at the last couple of weeks, I realized I had a lot of projects that used my Cameo and SVG files. I decided to do something a little different...heat embossing with a MFT background stamp. I used clear VersaMark ink and white embossing powder. Then I applied 4 different colors of Tim Holtz oxide inks: cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, broken china, and faded jeans. I tested the colors on a piece of scrap paper to make sure they blended nicely first because I did not want to ruin my background. Let's just say that is a lesson learned from past experience.
I used a MFT rounded stitched edge die to create the lower portion, stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx ink, and added Smile with Tombow multi mono liquid glue (sticks well to the embossing). Then a few color coordinated sequins were scattered on the front panel.
Challenges:
CAS on Friday ~ Embossing
Paper Craft Crew ~ Designer's Choice
4 Crafty Chicks ~ Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar ~ Three of Something

I thought this card was the perfect introduction for "Announcement Day".
Time to announce the winner...
Congratulations Connie!
Be sure to send me an e-mail at coachfans at cox dot net with your mailing address.

Until tomorrow,
Georgiana

Carson's Creations 8 Year Celebration

Today we are celebrating 8 years that Carson's Creations (That's Me) has been sharing. I remember when I first started so many years ago...I was a bit clueless (and my cards were quite different), but the crafty world invited me in and I have since made many lasting friendships over the years. We have shared ideas, chatted about techniques, planned blog hops together, been on the same design teams, and appreciated each other's talents and creativity while admiring across the miles.

There are only 8 stops and you won't want to miss any of them! There is also a complete line-up at the end of this post just in case you need it.

What would a hop be without Blog Candy?!?! Since this is a celebration, each blog has a bit of candy that is randomly being given away. Yay for candy!

Here is how:
Be sure to be a FOLLOWER and COMMENT on each blog.
If you are a follower, your comment could be randomly drawn to win some fantastic prizes.

Here is my project:

At first, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to make for my celebration. I thought about a 3D project, some treat bags, and even tags popped into my mind. Then I remembered I had this awesome glitter paper by Core'dinations. It has been in my stash for quite some time, maybe not 8 years but a while.

I chose this MFT celebrate die since it seemed appropriate for the occasion. I love the font with the script letters too. It was super easy to cut and there was NO glitter mess!

I chose the heart balloon since it matched the hop header. Trying to tie everything together.

Since I had two cards in black, I went with the opposite for the last one. I used the die cut from the above card for this lower one. Clean and simple in white.

The prize being offered:
I might even throw in a few more crafting goodies as a special thank you.

Remember to win, you need to be a follower of my blog and leave a comment!
You have until Sunday night, June 3rd at 9:00 pm EST to hop along with us! All winners will be announced on Monday, June 4th on each individual blog. The winners will also be posted on Carson's Creation Facebook page after all the winner's posts go live on each blog.

Here is the Blog Hop Line-up...

Thanks for celebrating with us today! Your next stop is Janis.
