Seeds to Flowers

Hello Crafty Friends,

Happy Spring!
The weather is absolutely beautiful today, which means this project is perfect for sharing and growing.

My class began a new Science unit on Life Cycles just before Spring Break and when we return we will continue another week with the plant life cycle before learning about animal life cycle the following week.  What better way to learn than by watching your own plant grow.

I made this treat bag for each student. It is a mixture of Wildflower seeds.
I found this small box at Walmart and was worried it wouldn't fill enough bags. To my surprise I have plenty left. I could actually make another class set.
Here is my assembly line of materials
Flowers are mixed and matched. The tag was adhered to plastic bag with a glue square and I used a glue stick for the flowers.
Green scraps were cut into strips and then fed thru a crimper to make the grass.
Future Bouquet of Wildflowers

Spellbinders ~ Big Scalloped Ovals
pink, yellow, and orange flowers ~ Michaels

Here Comes Peter Cottontail and a Giveaway

Hello Crafty Friends,

Happy Friday!
It is the end of the week, which means Spring Break is almost over. Unfortunately, I did not get much crafting done during my time off, but my living room and dining room have been redecorated. A huge wall mirror was removed, the wall was repainted, new curtains hung, and an area carpet was replaced. Oh yeah...and a new chocolate brown (YES, my favorite color) leather couch and recliner have been ordered. All in all, Spring Break was quite productive!

Friday also means...
It's time for a new challenge at Little Scrap Pieces.
The Challenge...Use a Bunny.
Loving the swirls on the white bunny.
Hoping you have a Happy Easter!

1,000 Follower Giveaway

Hello Crafty Friends,

Wow!
What does 1,000 mean to you?
Do you think of money? How about the number of texts you send every month? Maybe the number of crafty projects you have made? 1,000 means something different to me!

Can you believe I have almost reached that milestone of 1,000 followers? Both Carri, aka Abusybee, and I are super excited to offer this unique giveaway since we are sharing this special celebration together.

We have decided to team up again as we have many times in the past. We have planned hops, challenges, design teams, and shared many days supporting each other's crafty addiction. This time we want to celebrate 1,000 followers with some crafting goodies. Once we reach 1,000 (we need less than 10 followers each), we will pick two lucky people for prizes. I will pick a winner who will receive a prize pack from me and Carri will do the same. That means two people will get two prize packs!

 The Prize Packs:

My winner will receive...

Carri's winner will receive...

Requirements:
1. This giveaway will require you to be a follower of both our crafty blogs.

2. You must leave a comment on both our sites. Let us know what you like about our sites. Be sure to leave your contact information, so we can notify you if you win.

3. You must post on your site, FB, Twitter, or any other social media and then come back to share that you have spread the word.

4. Answer the following question...What does 1,000 mean to you?

Once we both reach 1,000 followers, the winners will be randomly selected and announced on both our sites.

Hope you will help us celebrate this special milestone!

Welcome back for another Whimsical Wednesday.
Here is a photo to help inspire you to create a project using pastels for this week's challenge.

It is easiest for me to work in an assembly line mode. Prepare all the cuts, fill the bags, create the stamped tags, and then piece it all together.
Lime, Blue Raspberry, Orange, Cherry, Grape, and Lemon flavored jelly beans. What is your favorite flavor? Mine...I like them ALL!
I recently starting stamping my dies to match the colors I needed. There are so many options with Spellbinders and you get a different look every time. All my tags match the bows.

Happy Easter at Exploring Cricut

Hello Crafty Friends,

Happy Monday!
Are you ready to begin the week with a new challenge? If you said "yes", then head over to Exploring Cricut. The theme is perfect...Easter! When I think of Easter...bunnies, chicks, and decorated eggs come to mind. How about you? When my kids were younger we would hid plastic eggs filled with money and/or candy throughout the house, and the Easter Bunny would always leave a fabulous basket filled with goodies.

Here is my Exploring Cricut card...
Loving the pastel colors of Spring and Easter.
I used the layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches.
The edges of the pink paper are distressed. I used the Tim Holtz tool.
Here are Carri's skittles! Be sure to check out all the new colors. She even has pastels! They are one of my favorites.
This stamp is from Docerela's Creations.
Materials:
K&Company paper
brown, yellow, and green cardstock
Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge ~ scalloped square (p.48)
Nate's ABCs Cricut cartridge~ rabbit (p. 34) cut at 2 1/4"
diamond embossing folder
wiggly eye
peeled paint ink by Tim Holtz
pink skittles from Carri at Abusybee

 Other Challenges:

Hoping you will join us this week at Exploring Cricut and share your Easter project. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Die Cuttin' Diva challenge and again on Wednesday for Whimsical Designs.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!

Hello Crafty Friends,

 Today is a Super Saturday!
No particular reason, but if you tell yourself it is..then it will be, right? : )

Today I am sharing a card at Exploring Cricut that I made for our principal. His birthday was this past week and he loves to fish. He even told all the students on morning announcements that he planned on spending Spring Break out on the boat. How relaxing!

This fish is from the Camp Out cartridge. It is an older cartridge, but definitely perfect for the outdoors person or if you are trying to make a masculine card.
I wanted it to look like the fish had been caught, so I added brown cord for the..."I got a bite!"
Here are the other cuts.
Materials:
unknown papers
brown and kraft card stock
Spellbinder ~ Label Eighteen
brown ink
brown pearls
brown cord
brown ribbon

Hope you enjoy your day!

Handmade Embellishments at Little Scrap Pieces

Hello Crafty Friends,

Spring Break began today at 3:30! Yippee!
Although I do not have plans to travel anywhere, I am just excited to have the time off. So much to do and I know the time is going to fly by, so I am going to start enjoying now!

There is a new challenge today at Little Scrap Pieces.

The Challenge...Handmade Embellishments
There are so many options! I like to make flowers and stick pins.
What is your favorite embellishment to create?
I created my flower with a variety of layers and the center flower has small beads. I also added skittles created by Carri at Abusybee.

The second card I made used a skittle for the center of the flower. Aren't these colors perfect for Spring (and Spring Break!)!
The papers came from DCWV ~ The Carnival stack.

Hope you will join us at Little Scrap Pieces this week for our Handmade Embellishment challenge. Can't wait to see your project and your embellishment.

Georgiana

A lady bug and a couple butterflies are perfect for Spring.

"Some Bunny Loves You" at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Crafty Friends,

What a great week this happens to be...it is the week before my Spring Break, the weather has been wonderful, and my son is home for his school break. Although I have TONS of papers to grade, I have been trying to make some time to craft. Visiting and see what others are creating will come this weekend since we did not make any plans. We are waiting until next year for my daughter's 16th birthday to take a BIG trip.

This week's challenge...Use a Bunny
Easter is this weekend and my children are older, so we do not do the Easter egg hunt and baskets any more, but I sure do remember when they would run around on Easter morning looking to see what they Easter Bunny hid for them. Fun times!

Here is my Design Team project...
This is the new final project.
I began with this yellow shape card (as shown below), but had a mishap with the stamped sentiment on the inside, so I had to detach the cover and add it to another card base.
I used a Ribbon Banner by Spellbinders and stamped the sentiment.
This bunny was cut from Kate's ABCs. I added a twine bow tie and a wiggly eye.
Glitterized grass and butterfly wings
The final card is on an A6 (DavidTutera) card base. I found them at Joanns for 50% off this past weekend. I am enjoying using some larger space. I also bought A7, so those will be fun!

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our bunny challenge. Don't forget to visit the other design team members and see their simply adorable projects too. You will enjoy all the cute bunnies.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Whimsical Designs on Wednesday.
