Eek! I Have Missed an Entire Week

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends,

I finally had time to sit down today and make a Halloween card after being out of commission for a week. First, I went home sick with no voice last Thursday. Couldn't teach without talking...and kids do not understand sign language all that well either. Then, my son got sick. I had to get him from college and bring him to the ER. He is better now and back at school. Finally, first quarter ended and grades were due.

What a week!

 Here is my Halloween card...
Materials:
scrap papers
dark purple cardstock
Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge ~ witch hat (p. 68) flipped and cut at 2 1/4"
All Mixed Up Cricut cartrisge ~ circles cut at 5" and 5 1/4"
orange ribbon
purple button
orange and green gems
eek! eposxy sticker by Recollection

Challenges:
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Be sure to count the gold gems in the treasure chest. There is one for each year.

Congrats to an A+ Teacher

Hello Crafty Friends,

A co-worker asked me to make a card for one of her friends who was named Rookie Teacher of the Year at her school. Of course, I told her I would be more than happy. Now I hope she is happy with the card.
Each of our schools nominates a Rookie and a Teacher of the Year, then it is a long process that takes months before the Teacher of the Year is named for our county. There is a written portfolio, an interview, and observations. Then it is narrowed to the top 5. At the ceremony in February, the Teacher of the Year for the county is announced.

A few years ago I made it to the top ten, which was just fine with me. I didn't want to stand in front of a room of 400 people and give a speech. Perhaps in a few years I may have the opportunity again and I will be ready to speak to a large audience. It sure is different speaking to a room full of kids than adults.
Here are my scraps I used.
Materials:
My Mind's Eye paper ~ Breeze
Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge ~ apple (p. 35) cut at 2"
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge ~ oval 3 1/4" and tag (p. 78) cut at 3/4"
Pink By Design ~ A+ stamp
brown ink
Congrats stamp
blue craft thread
brown gems

Challenges:

Hope you enjoyed your weekend.
