You're a Hoot

Good Morning!

Today is a terrific Tuesday since it brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and what better way to start the day than with a new project. This week we had a sketch from Page Maps to work with and I had to make a friend an owl card (she asked for natural colors), so I combined the two together.

Give a Hoot cartridge ~ owl (p. 28) cut at 2 1/4"
wiggly eyes
brown gems
I hope you will stop by Die Cuttin' Divas  and check out the Design Team projects. They always have creative ideas. We hope you will enter this week's challenge too!

Snowflakes are Unique

Hello!

First, I would like to say "Thank You" for stopping by. I appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to check out what is new here. I have been working on a few cards and this one is ready to post.

Although I live in Florida now, I do remember quite well what a white winter was like. I also have fond memories of playing in the snow. We would make snow angels, build ice tunnels where the trucks pushed all the snow from clearing the roads, and we would have snowball fights while making snowmen. None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for...

Snowflakes...

Materials:
Winter Combo paper by DCWV
white card stock
Martha Stewart holiday brads (glitter snowflake)
white snowflake brad
silver gems
computer generated sentiment

Challenges:

I hope you have been enjoying your weekend. Only one more day before we head back to school. Then in about three weeks, we have two more weeks off for Winter Break.

Georgiana

Time to Celebrate with Pat and Paula

Good Afternoon,

Today has been a nice, peaceful day, except that my Jeep went to the shop to have some work. We knew it was coming after the last incident when the horn mysteriously went off while driving down the road. It was just a matter of finding the time to coordinate an appointment when the dealer was open and we were off. I am thankful it is finally getting repaired.

I always love these long weekend because it gives me quality crafting time. No one in the family disturbs me since they know it is my time to rejuvenate.  I went through the current challenges super early this morning and then created my list. Now...time to tackle.

Here is the first of many to come this long weekend...
I created  this card for my crafty friend, Pat, of Pat's Scraps. She has had her blog for one year, so it is definitely time to celebrate.  Her first card was a birthday card, so I wanted to continue with that theme. Congratulations Pat! I hope you have many more years crafting, sharing, and blogging!

Also, it is Paula's birthday at More Than Favors. Happy Birthday to you! Be sure to stop by and send some birthday wishes to her.

Materials:
papers from the scrap box
white and black ribbons
Create a Critter cartridge ~ scalloped circles cut at 2 1/4"
Celebrations cartridge ~ "Celebrate" cut at 3/4" and present cut at 1 1/2"
pink gems (old stash)

Challenges:
Enjoy your holiday! I hope you find some fabulous Black Friday deals if you go shopping. I have made a list of a few items I am hoping to pick up. Did you see Michaels has the Expression 2 for $199.99? Trying to decide if I should upgrade. Any input?!?!

Native American Heritage Month

Good Morning,
Happy Tuesday! Today brings another challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas and what better way to celebrate than with a new project.

Our new challenge this week is...

Native American Heritage Day, which is November 26th.

Here is some information I found...The indigenous peoples of North America -- the First Americans -- have woven rich and diverse threads into the tapestry of our Nation’s heritage. Throughout their long history on this great land, they have faced moments of profound triumph and tragedy alike. During National Native American Heritage Month, we recognize their many accomplishments, contributions, and sacrifices, and we pay tribute to their participation in all aspects of American society.

Materials:
My World cartridge ~ tepee cut at 3" and Native American cut at 3 1/2"
Give a Hoot cartridge ~ "Peace" cut at 1"
wildlife background paper by Paper Pizazz
brown, white and kraft cardstock
brown and white twine
brown and white buttons

This week Nicole from The Twinery is our challenge sponsor, so get busy and create.
Stay crafty,
Georgiana

Good Afternoon Everyone,

What a lovely day. My daughter came home from the grandparents and it sure sounds like she had a blast. They even upgraded the Busch Garden passes so they can go back all next year. Too bad my hubby and I don't have one (yet).

While waiting for her this morning I made another card. My crafty friend, Karen, at Little Scrap Pieces has had some challenges recently and I have felt terrible that I hadn't entered any. Today I decided to change that. Here is another one for Thanksgiving. Thanks again Karen!

Materials:
Give a Hoot cartridge ~ tree (p. 67) cut at 4 1/2" and grass cut at 1 1/2"
Animal Kingdom cartridge ~ turkey cut at 1 1/2"
Wild Card cartridge ~ "Thanks" cut at 3"
yellow, green, brown cardstock
yellow felt leaves
white gel pen

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and have a great week.

Happy Birthday with Black and White

Good Evening Crafty Friends,

The kids went to Busch Gardens today with the grandparents, so my husband and I started a little holiday shopping. It sure is nice when you can cross a few names off "the list". Since it was still early when we returned home, I decided to check out the newest challenges. Wow! There are some great sketches and themes this week. I made a list of a few that I found appealing and got busy. I know there are more, but I will add them later tonight.
I left the balloon blank so it could be personalized. I can either add a name or the age of the recipient.

Materials:
Making Memories ~ Black and White Slice paper pad
Simply Charmed cartridge ~ balloon ~ p. 75 ~ cut at 3 1/2"
yellow cardstock
golden yellow lace
button
black and yellow flowers
happy birthday stamp by Inkadinkado

Challenges:
Craft Your Days Away ~ Embellishment BINGO (lace, flowers, and buttons)

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and can find time to craft too.

Kate's ABCs cartridge ~ scalloped sqaure
Wild Card cartridge ~ sentiment
