Lots of Valentine Requests

I have been super busy making a variety of Valentine's Day cards at the request of my mother-in-law and a few co-workers from school. I sure hope they can find at least one or two they like.
The images on the following cards were cut from the Sweethearts cartridge. Since there are so many wonderful cuts to choose from,  I had to make a few.

 Challenges:

Are you looking for more challenges? Do you like to follow sketches for an extra challenge? I found this awesome site that everyone needs to check out. It list the challenges each day and now the winners are posted too. It is sort of like the one-stop shopping for those that like to craft...it's a one-stop challenge zone.

Be sure to come back on Tuesday for a special Guest Crafter. I have posted her picture on my Guest Crafter tab (on the top center bar), but the project is a surprise still. : )

Hope you have a great week,
Georgiana

What a busy week it has been and the weekend has been non-stop too. I sure do like it that way! Never the same twice.

  • Plantin Schoolbook ~ scalloped edge ~ p.70~ cut at 1"
  • BasicGrey Two Scoops pattern paper
  • Paradise Pink D-Stress paper

We're Having a Party

Actually...a Baby Shower!

One of the ladies at work is having a baby in a couple of weeks and tomorrow is the baby shower. I was asked to make a card, but instead made a few. I thought it would be better if the office staff had a few to choose from and what if someone else needs one too.

  •  Wild Card cartridge ~ rattle and New Arrival
  • Wrap It Up cartridge ~ stork
  •  Potpourri cartridge ~ Baby Shower
  • K&Company and Heidi Grace paper
  • kraft paper and pink and cream cardstock
  • ribbon, buttons, wiggly eye, and pink gems
Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut ~ Neglected cartridge (Potpourri ~ I tend to use the actual cartridge the image comes on now instead of this one that came with my machine.)
The Kraft Journal ~ Anything Goes (layered paper and stork's legs and beak)

I sure hope everyone likes the cards at school. I am trying to show them off a little more and  I am actually beginning to get custom orders. Yeah!

Please complete the poll on the right sidebar. I am going to do a giveaway when I reach 400 followers and would like to know what you enjoy receiving as goodies. Me...I will take anything if it is free!

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

Do you have a dog? I do and she loves attention! She loves to be rubbed right behind her ear and on her neck. If you give her lots of love she gets a smile on her face too.

  •  Sweetheart Cricut cartridge
  • BoBunny pattern paper and solid cardstock (pink, brown, and white)
  • white ribbon
  • pink gems
  • wiggly eyes in black
  • Happy Valentine's Day stamped inside in pink ink
Until next time,
Georgiana

Lots of Love with Ellie

This is Ellie and she is one enthusiastic elephant. When she is not eating crunchy peanuts she loves to play in the community park and chase helium balloons. Since Ellie is super intelligent she knows that Valentine's Day is approaching. She is here today to share the love.

I think I am ready for writing with the students tomorrow. I have great vocab, colorful words, and an interesting character. Ellie is going to be entered into the Always Crafting Whimsical Wednesday Challenge and Tuesday Throwdown. Hoping she wins an honor.

Let the creative juices continue flowing!

The Elegance of Black & White

The colors black and white go together like peanut butter and jelly, Bonnie and Clyde, and pizza and Coke. Okay, that last one is my favorite and I think they are meant to be together! What are your two favorite items that you know belong as one?

  •  I used Making Memories paper and a self-adhesive ribbon.
  • White florals and black flower brads
  • Clear gems were added to each flower on the right side.
  • Love was cut from the Sweetheart cartridge.
The weekend is almost over, but it was quite productive. I am hoping the school week will be the same.

It's a Challenge Day, Pt. 2

After I made the last card, my husband asked if I wanted to run an errand with him and my first thought was, "Hmmm...That may intefer with my crafting time." He said I could run into Michaels and Joanns if I went, so I said "SURE!, but I have to print out a coupon first."

I just found out from a friend that Joanns takes every other store's coupons, so I printed out a Michaels and ACMoore. We don't even haven an ACMoore here in town (the closest is 80 miles away), but they honor them any way. That was exciting to find out!

The second card of the day fits a few challenges:

The paper is Nana's Nursery by DCWV. Those polka dots are wonderful.
The dove was cut at 2 1/4" from the Sweetheart cartridge (p. 56) and It Matters sentiment was cut at 1" from Give a Hoot (p. 76). I used the 2 1/2" polka dot green dove on the envelope because it was too big for the space I wanted on the front of the card. It looks great and it didn't go to waste.

Time to make dinner and do a load of laundry, then back to find another challenge. : )

It's a Challenge Day, Pt.1

Hello...It's a Super Saturday.

Since I created my newly organized notebook yesterday and wrote down all these challenges, I knew I was going to get busy and create a few cards on the list today. My daughter even wanted to join in and she created her own challenge notebook. My husband said she has turned to the dark side too. : ) If you want to see her cards, please visit One Creative Teen. I think she is secretly trying to make more than me. You know what? I am okay with that! It is definitely better than watching TV all day.

I used white heart brads in the bottom corners and pink metallic ribbon. The pattern paper is BoBunny ~ Love Shack.
The scalloped hearts (p.72) were cut at various sizes from the Sweetheart cartridge and layered with foam dots.
The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment is stamped with pink ink inside the card.
Don't forget the coordinating strip for your envelope. I cut a white heart for the top layer, but decided not want to use it. Instead of discarding the small piece, it fits perfectly on the bottom front corner of envelope.

Hope you are enjoying your Super Saturday. I am off for challenge two.
I sure do love having this list...Thanks again Carri!

Tying the Knot with Lace and Pearls

Good Evening All My Crafty Friends!

After talking to Carri AKA Abusybee about how she keeps track of all her challenges and entries, I decided to take her idea and give it a try. I created a notebook that includes: a list of themes, dates, and outcomes. I need to be organized and the way I was trying to keep track wasn't working well. I sure hope this helps! Thanks for the suggestion Carri!

Nifty Fifties (p.30) and Sweetheart (p. 55) cartridge

K&Company paper ~ Roam mat pad

brown floral lace

3 pearls

Coordinating envelope

I also thought this card could be altered to include an all white dress with tulle as the long flowing gown. That would be perfect for any bride-to-be. I think my daughter and I have watched too much of Say Yes to the Dress. :

Take care and stay creative,
Georgiana

Purple Anyone? Definitely!

Hello Everyone!
I'd like to begin with saying "Thank you for joining me." It is always a pleasure to come home from school and see everyone's postings. I truly enjoy visiting others and reading the wonderful comments you leave for me. I once told a friend that I have not meet my on-line crafty friends, but they make me extremely happy. I am not sure she really understood, but I know many others probably feel they same way (at least I hope they do).

Jen from The Purple Scrapbooker asked me to be her first Guest Designer and I responded, "I'd LOVE to!" I asked her what type of project she wanted me to make for her and she was open ~ except the creation had to have some purple.   Hmmm... I figured I could that!

This is for you Jen!
I used Heidi Grace paper and accents for all three cards. It was just too pretty to cover up with any other cuts.
A few people have asked about my floral edge punch...It is Martha Stewart and so easy to use.
I added purple and silver brads to the card above and heart stickers below.
Here is a helpful tip...
Save all the pieces from your paper to use for your envelopes. When I layer my decorative paper pieces I always have to cut off a strip (or two). I decided to decorate my envelopes with these extras. What better way to reduce your scrap pile!
I hope you like them Jen!

Love,
Georgiana

Flowers For You

I am heading back to work today, but instead of teaching my students I will be training 5th grade teachers in Science today. We will be working on making journals (not the fancy ones due to timing) and mammals. Before I leave I  wanted to post a card I made for the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog- Flowers.

  • Country Life cartridge
  • K&Company paper
  • Sizzix embossing folder
  • flower edge punch
  • blue gems
Looking forward to a great day,
Georgiana

"Love"

This week's challenge at Paper Playtime is to use the word "Love" somewhere on your project. Since Valentine's Day is approaching quickly, that was super easy. Everywhere you go has displays of stuffed animals, candy, flowers, and crafting supplies. I even saw some crafting goodies on sale/clearance already. Yeah!

For my Design Team project, I created this card...Owl always Love you.
  • I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to create the base card (p.39) at 8". It is oversized and does not have an envelope, but I thought it would fit perfectly in a gift bag with the Valentine's present.
  • The pattern paper is BoBunny ~ Tweetheart and brown cardstock.
  • The sentiment was cut at 2 1/2" from Hoot 'n Holler.
  • I added brown ribbon, 3 buttons, and craft thread.
The owl embossing folder is by Cuttlebug.
Inside of card

Good luck with the Paper Playtime challenge this week. I have been visiting many crafters during the past two weeks since joining the Design Team and I am looking forward to seeing what you create this time.

Crazy for Disney?

I am absolutely loving this 3 day weekend. I have been able to make lots of cards for numerous challenges. I even e-mailed Jen at Purple Scrapbooker to ask her which ones she wanted to enter. I haven't heard from her yet, but I found one I think she will like. I really should be grading some papers, but I know they will be there a little later. : )

Front of card with matching envelope

Close-up of silver gems
  • Mickey and Friends cartridge ~ p. 117 ~ Disney Heart cut at 2"
  • Heart embossing folder by Cuttlebug
  • silver gems and red heart gems
  • white ribbon
I am off (at least for a few) to attack these papers. I have them organized by subject, so it shouldn't take too long. Then I am coming back to do some more crafting. Yeah!

Stay Creative,
Georgiana

I'm Cuckoo for You!

I sure am feeling lovey dovey today. It must be because my daughter is on a field trip for 4 days and my son went camping with Boy Scouts. I told my husband this is what it is going to be like when we retire...I get to make cards, he can watch football, and there will peace and quiet. Of course, we still have 15 to 20 years before we are eligible. Now back to reality! Yes, the phone actually did ring and we were told by one of the Assistant Scout masters that our son is on his way home from the camping trip. He decided not to stay. I do think it is a little cold to be outside in a tent. And you don't have to be cuckoo to know that! : )
Front of card
Matching envelope
  •  I used BoBunny Love Bandit paper (again). I absolutely love it! It will be gone before long. : (
  • The center picture is from a BoBunny Cut Out sheet. I added a red heart gem to the birdhouse.
  • There are tiny pink hearts (from my new MS heart edge punch) around the border with pink gems centered in each.
  • The light pink ribbon is from an "old stash". It was the last piece I had. I added a pink gem on top of the knot.
Challenges:

Since this is my second card for the day, PLEASE take a peek at the other. It is You & Me.

Looking forward to morning since my sister and I are going out for breakfast. I am treating her to Bob Evans since we weren't able to for her birthday. We love the Farmer's Choice  because those blueberry crepes are absolutely delicious.

Until tomorrow,
Georgiana

It's Just You & Me

Today has been a very good day. This morning I went to Joanns and purchased some paper stacks on clearance for a marvelous price and then drove over to Michaels (There were no more $9.99 cartridges, but I really didn't expect to find any.). I found a great deal on a Martha Stewart Heart edge punch set and some embellishments that I am planning to use as blog candy for upcoming hops. Maybe you saw the cute picture on the right sidebar. A Sweetheart Blog Hop coming February 5th. I am looking forward to hosting the event which put me in the mood to think of my sweetie. Can you see us? We are the pair of squirrels smootching under the lover's tree. : )

I also created this card for 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge ~ Metal and Cupcake Craft Challenge ~ Something New. I have these heart brads that I got at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and I wanted to find a way to use them. What do you think? I think they fit perfectly in the tree.

Hoping you can enjoy time with someone special this weekend.

So Many Birthdays Which Means...

Another Card!

It was my Mother-in-Law's birthday yesterday, so I had to make her a special card. We had plans to go to dinner and then come back to the house for cake. It was a nice evening, except for the fact that I couldn't sing "Happy Birthday". I guess I must be talking too much at school because my voice was hoarse. Good thing I don't have to talk to make cards. :)

  • I used the Amy Bulter paper from K&Company. The colors are so pretty. There are greens, blues, pinks, and browns. Lots of favorites!
  • The base, liner, and gifts are all fom Birthday Bash. This is a great cartridge to use for any age!
  • The base and liner (p. 40) was cut at 7 1/2" and the gifts were cute at 3 1/2".
  • Blue and green silky ribbon and silver gems.
I am excited it is Friday. We have a 3 day weekend. The kids in our county are even happier since they have 5 days off. Next Tuesday and Wednesday are teacher workdays, which means time for more training and then reports cards.

I hope you enjoy your weekend,
Georgiana

Treats Anyone?

I am super excited today!
Paula from More Than Favors asked me to be a Guest Designer. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity and said I would make anything she needed. Well, she wanted treat bags and I thought perfect since Valentine's Day is approaching quickly.
I had so much fun designing each bag. I wanted them to be as unique as each person receiving them. I used Plantin Schoolbook to make each one.
  •  These two were cut at 12 1/2" (fit to page feature) using the Tall Ball key on page 80.
  • The paper on the left is BoBunny Love Bandit Be Mine (LOVE IT!). The hearts are from Wild Card p. 67 and they are cut at 3" and 3 1/2". Sweet is cut from All Mixed Up at 3/4". I tied brown lace ribbon and sheer green to each handle to add a special touch.
  • The treat bag on the right is hot pink cardstock. The scallop behind the frog was from gold mteallic paper cut at 4 1/2" from the Accent cartridge. The frog is from Paisley (LOTS of fun images!) at 3" and Smile (p.36) was cut at 3/4". The hot pink ribbon has gold weaved throughout.
  • The AMOR bag on the left was cut using the Italic feature at 7 1/2" (fit to page on a 12 X 12 sheet). I used Bo Bunny Dehihah Stripe paper along with Love Shack Groovin' for the Rock Princess heart (p.45). I added gold gems for more sparkle.
  • Love Bug is just too cute! The Roly Poly bag was cut at 6 1/4" from pink cardstock and various ribbon pieces were tied to the front handle. The little bug was cut from Simply Charmed p. 31 at 3" and the surrounding hearts were cut at 1" and 1 1/2". The title was cut at 3/4".
I truly enjoyed making these treat bags for Paula after she asked. I sure hope she loves them too. Enjoy adding some goodies to each and definitely find someone to give them away too. You will put a smile on their face!

Winner of the Winter Break Giveaway

Good Morning!
I am pleased to announce the winner today, but I must say how much I enjoyed reading about the dream vacations. I know I want to add a safari through Africa to my travel list and Australia would be wonderful to visit. There are so many places around the world...well, I can keep dreaming! If anyone decides to visit Disney World, let me know so I can give you some tips. I can let you know which park and which rides to go to first. Oh, and you have to look for the hidden Mickeys. That is so much fun! The Haunted Mansion has one in the coolest place and Soaring flies right by if you are not paying close attention.
Since Winter Break has been over for a week now, it is time to move on and announce the winner.
The winner is.......

She said...
Great giveaway!
I think I would like to go to Ireland. I really haven't been too far away, have never even been on a plane. Thanks!

I will send an e-mail to you today. Please repsond as soon as you can, so I can mail your package. I am off to get ready to go to Michaels. I am hoping to get a cartridge or two for the $9.99 clearance blowout. Let me know if you are able to get any and which ones if you do.

Take care and have a fabulous weekend,
Georgiana : )
